One thing that I found blatantly irritating is that while the dialog for how the Maintenance Officer met his demise on Peragus was both graphic and descriptive, the actual "body" of the aforementioned was absolutely untouched. This really breaks the immersion for me, so I changed the texture for his model and re-skinned the texture to have more "damage".

 

The screenshots do a pretty good job of showing what it looks like.

  • This is the first version, but in the (Distant) future I want to find some way to make all of the Miner corpses have a similar condition.

For some reason, I uploaded the screenshots backward. The third is supposed to be at the front and the first is supposed to be at the back.

It does that sometimes. I was beginning to wonder if you'd actually uploaded it. I must say, as I did last time, that it does look awesome.

 

However, I look at it again, and I might argue that you might try to make the holes a little deeper-looking. That or make it lok like muscle. A little graphic perhaps, and certainly not easy to do, but like what HK-50 said isn't already graphic.

I just don't wanna be a gore maniac. I know it's already explicit, but I don't want to make it rated "M" material. I could make it more detailed if everyone wants, though...

There's one detal I'm not sure about: will that affect the texture of the maintenance officer in the videos? As in having these burns before dying? Food for thought!

Ho Ho Ho! It does not affect the holo/living officer. I assume this is thankfully because there are both an NPC and PLC model of the Maintenance Officer. I took screenshots to make sure. I can append them to the file if it is necessary.

 

(It makes sense that a talking character would not be classified as a "placable".)

Curiously the living officer is actually wearing a slightly different uniform than the dead one. Upon comparing screenshots, I can see his collar is bigger and the zipper doesn't go all the way up in the living one.

This does flow better with the situation/scene and it doesn't make sense that his body would be in "Pristine" condition. So good idea, IMO.

  I agree with Fair Strides, that the wounds could use a bit more "Definition" and still not be in the gore cateGORY..sorry, I couldn't resist that one.

  Anyway, I like it.

It's a very good mod but I wish for two things in an upcoming update: A small pool of blood under him and for it to be compatible with Peragus Mining Gear by Kainzorus Prime!

I can do one of those things for the next update, but story-wise, mining lasers could instantly cauterize the wound (Which is why is specifically chose to use burnt flesh rather than bones and muscle for base textures) If he was hit by something that made him bleed, the results would be far messier than a mere hole in his torso and legs.

 

It should be pretty simple to make it compatible with Kainzorus Prime's mod if I can get the model files, I believe. If you'd like to make a formal request, I still use my WIP thread to discuss upcoming or requested changes to my mods.

A necessary and welcome improvement for TSL immersion.

I think the body must have more and severe wounds due the "variations in decibel, ranging from frenzied screams to gibbering, inarticulate attemps to beg for his life".

Is this mod really not compatible with TSLRCM? It just retextures his body so I don't see why it wouldn't be compatible.

In my last Playthrough (summer '19) I used it with TSLRCM (v1.8.5) and M4-78 with no problems and I think it was tagged as compatible. Maybe @Malkior forgot update the compatibility tag when updated the page.

In the changelog says that is the same version was already uploaded.

Yeah. I either forgot to update the tag, or my last submission happened before the tag existed. It should be compatible with literally anything other than a mod that changes his specific MDL MDX path (Or replaces those files) -Tag fixed- 

Please let me know if anyone has any more issues, or if they have compatibility problems.
