Revan's Hoodless/Maskless Flowing Robes For K1 1.2.1

About This File

This mod changes the models for the robes you receive on the Star Forge (Darth Revan’s robes for dark side or Star Forge robes for light side) to a modified version with the cape and belts seen on the cutscene version, but without the raised hood and mask.

Alternative models with different arrangements of cape/belts/folded hood are available in the mod’s OPTIONAL folder. Once you have finished installing the mod, you may copy and paste the MDL/MDXs from relevant folder to the Override folder, overwriting when prompted.

This mod relies on Sithspecter’s Revan's Flowing Cape and Belt Fix mod for the animations. You can download that mod from here:

http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/709-revans-flowing-cape-and-belt-fix/

Extract n_darthrevan.mdl and n_darthrevan.mdx to your Override folder (you don’t need to install the rest of that mod’s files, but it is fine to do so). If you do not have this mod then you will not have any animations for the cloak or belts.

How to Obtain:
The mod retains the vanilla route to obtaining the robes, namely accessing the fabrication computer on Deck 2 of the Star Forge. However, in order to allow people to get the robes early, I have added a new fabricator on Dantooine. It is located inside the Aratech Mercantile room next to the Ebon Hawk's landing pad at the Jedi Enclave:

K1_Revan_Hoodless_Maskless_Flowing_Robes_Map_TH.jpg

In order to use this component of the mod, you must run the installer a second time and choose the option Dantooine fabricator from the drop-down list.

Notes:
This mod is not compatible with any other mod that changes/replaces the scripts for the computer on the Star Forge that grants you the robes, k_psta_replicat4 and k_psta_replicat5.

The male version is a straight replacement for the PMBJ model, so it will not be compatible with any other mod that replaces/modifies that model, or changes the values for that column in appearance.2da. Because of the way animations work, the female version must be set up as a disguise, so it uses its own independent models and appearance.2da rows and is unaffected by changes to the PFBJ model or appearance.2da values. Note, however, that this means it is not compatible with custom female head models.

The Darth Revan robes use the vanilla PMBJ01 texture, and is compatible with texture replacements from other mods. The vanilla texture for the Star Forge robes, PMBJ02, has no provision for the cape or belts, so I have provided a very basic replacement with those sections coloured. I suggest that you replace this with a better quality texture from another mod. I recommend ZM_StarForgeA08 from ZimmMaster's Revan's Jedi Robes mod. Download that mod here:

http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/466-revans-jedi-robes/

Extract Zimm’s texture from his mod’s tslpatchdata folder, rename it to PMBJ02.tga, and then put it in your Override folder, overwriting when prompted. Make sure you do this after installing the current mod! Additionally, grab the TXI from the OPTIONAL folder and place that in the Override folder as well.

Known Issues:
There will be some clipping during certain animations. Some of this is related to the animations, some of it the meshes. If you spot something particularly egregious, then let me know in the comments and I may be able to address it if it is model-related.

Currently there are no limitations on the Dantooine generator. You can fabricate either set of robes regardless of alignment, and you can make as many copies as you like. I may change this in future.

If you are using the K1 Community Patch, the K1 Restoration mod, or another mod that has added danm13.mod to your Modules folder, you will get a warning from TSLPatcher that this file already exists and was skipped. This is intended behaviour and not an error.

Acknowledgements:

  • Thanks to Sithspecter for the n_darthrevan flowing robes animations, without which this mod would not be possible.
  • Many thanks to Fair Strides and bead-v for looking over my scripts, checking for errors and streamlining syntax.
  • Thanks to DarthTyren for his tutorial on camera placement (although I had to source the quaternion conversion elsewhere).
  • Thanks to Salk for informing me of a missing ini config for one of the UTI files.

Released

  • Split out the Dantooine fabricator component into an optional secondary install.
  • Tweaked the setup of the Dantooine fabricator to make the item storage non-interactive when empty.
  • Slightly repositioned the Dantooine fabricator forcecage to minimise visible wall clipping.
  • Changed installer setup to pre-compiled scripts for better non-Windows compatibility.
  • Removed the optional Dantooine scripts for third-party mod compatibility reasons.
  • Added missing GFF list entry for one of the robe UTIs (thanks to Salk for informing me).

Btw, for some reason I'm missing some sounds when running while flourishing (twirling the weapons) only when I'm dual wielding lightsabers, I've also tested this problem and the sounds are also missing for two handed lightsaber staff as well as dual wieldvibroblades and two handed vibroblades.

This sound bug only happens when I'm wearing Darth Revan's Robes giveitem g_a_mstrrobe06, and the Modded Robes from the Cape and Belt Fix giveitem g_a_mstrrobe08 and only when I'm flourishing while running in both version of the Robes. The sound will play when standing still and flourishing while in the Revan Robes. However the problem does not happen at all when I'm wearing any other armor besides the Revan Robes and the sound can be heard while running and flourishing too.

The problem is fixed by removing N_DarthRevan.mdl and N_DarthRevan.mdx but that means the flowing cape and textures are also removed. I've also tried using those files from the Cape Fix but the problem returns.

Any ideas on how to fix this?:)

Revan Robe Mods I use are:

https://deadlystream.com/files/file/709-revans-flowing-cape-and-belt-fix/

https://deadlystream.com/files/file/348-revans-robes-revisioned/

EDIT: I've isolated the bug with a fresh install, it's caused by Revans Robes Revisioned or Revans Flowing Cape and Belt Fix when adding the two N_DarthRevan files from either mods. It's a minor detail but still annoying haha, strange how a texture/animation mod would cause an audio bug.

@forfunandmore: The updated version is live. The Dantooine element is now a separate component, so you'll need to run the installer a second time and choose it from the drop-down after installing the primary part of the mod. After installing, extract the attached archive and drop the UTP into the user's Override before they reach Dantooine. This will make the added computer terminal non-interactive, but still leave all added placeables in-place.

Works perfectly, now the shop looks nice and spoiler free! Thank you once again! Now we await the audio fix for Revan's Robes eagerly:)

I love the dark version, but play a light-side character,.

I read the comments about simply copying & renaming the darth revan texture to overwrite the starforge robe texture- but could that work with other people's retextures- like Revan Robes Reinvisioned, or Revan's Jedi Robes mod.

I see that some people got it to work somehow- I'm just wondering if it is a simple rename and overwrite, or requires some more...unnatural powers of file editing.

another edit- got it to work.

May I ask for a version just like the "belts only" one, only with the bit of mantle on the back that would precede the cape if it were there? Namely the DS female variant, but you're more than welcome to make it a whole separate update if you so wish.

After looking closely, it'd simply be the "cape and belts" model, just without the flowing section of the cape.

I won't be making any further changes/additions to this mod. But I may have an alternative option at some point in the nebulous future.

Excuse any facepalming this might induce- but I have to ask to make sure:

The description says the mod won't work with any custom head. I assume that refers to a mod that adds in a playable twi'lek head, or porting Mira's head from K2 to K1.                                                 I'm asking because I've used texture edits to some of the vanilla heads in the past and it seems to work fine. (I assume that it works because that's a texture edit and not a model replacer- right?)

Love the mod, and sorry again for any facepalms it might induce.

The mod only has provision for the vanilla female player heads in heads.2da and the associated player rows in appearance.2da. Retextures or model edits/swaps are irrelevant if they don't affect the row ID. Added female heads are not supported.

The male version will work for any head, included custom added ones, as long as the vanilla PMBJ models are specified in appearance.2da.

Thanks for the reply- I just wanted to make sure I had it straight. It's really cool that you still respond to community questions. Thanks again.   :)

Does this mod function for the endgame cutscene so the medal you get shows up and you don't suddenly show up wearing normal Jedi robes? I have a mod that makes the vanilla version do that but I really want the belts as well.

That's entirely a function of the LS cutscene script. And no, this mod doesn't change it. Plus I don't believe I added the medal hook to the models anyway.

Actually, I believe you're the one who made the mod I use for that purpose. So, I have the script already.

This mod is beautiful!  So much has gone into it to make the Star Forge robes more fun to wear and use, that I feel bad about one nitpick...if I have Bastila or Juhani wearing a second set, none of the cool extra items are there.  Would it just be a matter of renaming the model files for the companion version of the robes?

I can also just take head canon that the Star Forge thinks only Revan needs the belt and cape for his robes, while the companions don't need such fancy accoutrements. ;)

Edited my accidental reposts.

There's nothing to fix. The Revan robes don't use the global supermodels. SS's flowing robes mod provides the supermodel, which is why it's required.

It's possible/likely that I'm misunderstanding how the supermodels work, but I have to ask.  Is there any way to use one of the no-cape models here, and then just copy and rename the Jedi robes global supermodel to be used by the Revan's robes supermodel?  I realize this would mean you're wearing a single-colored cloak over Revan's robes instead of the patterned cape, which covers all the arm design and probably the folded hood.  (Edit:  And the belt animations might might not work correctly.)  But that could be an acceptable tradeoff for those who prefer the TSL-style cloak animation to SS's cape animation.  (Maybe you could remove the sleeves and force the hood on top, but I have no modeling experience to know if this is feasible.  And if I'm venturing into the territory of suggesting new mods, I don't mind reposting to the appropriate thread.

Could you please make the Revan Revisioned robe textures compatible? It's the same issue as Zimm's texture where it's transparent but, the txi for Zimm's doesn't work with the textures from Revan's Robes Revisioned.

This is the mod I'm referring to:

Are added female heads unsupported because of scripting/2DA issues, or are the new female body models themselves incapable of accepting new heads??

Both. Because the Revan animations are male only, the female version uses a disguise with duplicate female heads that use male animations. In order for modded heads to work, they would need their own dummy head model added, a new disguise appearance.2da row using that head added, a new UTI pointing to that appearance row, and that UTI linked to the added head's default appearance added to the item spawn script.

Wow...That's a lot of work...I see your point in not supporting them...Thank you for the info...it's appreciated...

It could conceivably be possible to create some sort of batch script that could dynamically recompile modded head models, create new appearance rows, etc. etc., but that's not worth the effort for what is an edge case.

Understandable, as that would also be a lot of work in itself, as well...
