    This mod allows the player to access a full map of the Ebon Hawk in KOTOR II. The idea for it stems from my annoyance at blocked off corners within the ship that prevent you from completely filling out the map on your own. The Ebon Hawk's map is full by default in the original KOTOR, so this also aims to keep that element of consistency. I made the map downloadable from the Ebon Hawk's Security System with respect to how the Information Terminals in Telos Citadel Station allow you to download area maps. I also adjusted the Ebon Hawk's interior maps by adding background stars to make them look less bland. This affects the regular map & prologue map. Installation To install this mod, copy the files from the "Override" folder & paste them in the Override folder located in your game's directory. To uninstall this mod, delete the files from the override folder in your game's directory. The map will not reset after uninstallation (it'll still appear full in affected saves). How to Use To download the Ebon Hawk's map, access the Security System located in the ship's Communications room. Select "Download Ebon Hawk map." from the list then log out. The map will now be completely full & the download option will no longer be available. Note that the prologue sequence defaults the Ebon Hawk's map to full & this mod doesn't change that. Compatibility This mod should be fully compatible with anything else as long as it doesn't override secsys.dlg. As of version 1.2.0, this mod now supports all language variants of the game. The added dialogue is still in English, though translations may be added in the future. Info =========== This mod introduces a very simple change to one of those little things that are there just to be annoying. The galaxy map on the Ebon Hawk displays both the planet icon and the model for Peragus II as a random brown ball. Which looks nothing like the planet you can see during the prologue or while on the outside of the facility. This mod fixes these two through texture changes. 2. Instalation: ========= Place the files in the Override folder. 3. Usage ========= The mod will replace the textures as soon as they're in the Override. 4. REMOVAL: =========== Remove the files from the OVerride folder. 5. Credits: =========== Special thanks to: Holowan Laboratories - For all the great resources. 6.   4. Hello guys, I'm trying to take map models .mdl from KotOR 2, modify them a little bit, and put them back into the game. I managed to do it but I get visibility problems: the whole model appears invisible, except for the objects with the glowing material and texture, as can be seen in the image. I guarantee that the .mdl geometry is there although invisible. In the second image I've removed part of the geometry so that the rest of the map can be seen through. I guess that this problem could be given by errors with the visibility map or the light map, but I have no idea of how to solve this.
  5. I decided to dig deep into this map editor thing and can confirm the editor works. It allows you to input creatures, doors, encounters, merchants, placeables, sounds, triggers, and waypoints. I was able to tweak the module lighting different colors. and select day or night cycle option or both not sure if that works. Now for the interesting part the map files themselves 1st I look at how the names were structured in the map folder of existing maps 2nd I i created a simple blue 512x512 image saved it as jpg, then gave it a name of a module that didn't have a map. 3rd I opened up the jpg image in a text editor the re saved it in the .map extension and put it into the module folder. 4th Opened up the module editor selected open module project and pointed it to the newely created blue image i made. Results the map loaded the editor accepted the map and i was allowed to use all functions...So the map extension wasn't a mystery after all it just took some determination to figure out. Now new maps can be created for all the levels... Id appreciate all who can help with this. Important. you must use th K-Tool to extract the module you want to edit into a folder FIRST as the module editor needs it to load all the dump files into the map editor. This is so everything already in the level can be in its positon. Solved invisible issues thanks to the suggestion by Sithpecter about Z coordinates.. What i did was take a z coordinate from a model that was on the map like this one 10.19682...then i simply change the the last number 2 to a 5 i realized it was important for every model to have its own Z coordinates.   6. Out of curiousity, I ran a search on Google for a star wars galaxy map, given the 240+ books, all of the comics, and the tv shows shaping the galaxy. I found this, and was wondering if the community at large would find this reliable as a map? Note: According to the scale, and going to the nearest 1/4 of a square, the galaxy as depicted by this map is 135,780.75 lightyears across at it's widest point. An Old Republic Dreadnaught can do 0.4 past lightspeed in Hyperspace, which amounts to 420,000 km/second. In the end, assuming the Galaxy's "Standard" time is a 24-hour earth day, following the earth calendar of 7-day weeks and 365-day years, a lightyear is 1,284,594,519,600,000,000 km long, which is one quintillion, two-hundred eighty-four quadrillion, five-hundred nineteen trillion, six-hundred billion kilometers. ... At 796,448,602,152,000,000 (Seven-hundred ninety-six quadrillion, four-hundred forty-eight trillion, six-hundred two billion, one-hundred fifty-two million) miles across, that's a HUGE galaxy!!!
