  1. so guys I'm making another character overhaul, (and a skin for those who don't want the other stuff) basically to make Mandalore look more like his predecessors, and giving him something to make him strategically worth while to have in-party. (don't get me wrong, Mandalore is one of my favourite chars in tsl.)The mod started out for me as a way to explore 3d modeling and use some new-found photoshop techniques. the screens will give you a hint on how he will be more interesting, the texture and model aren't final. but just to get you all excited...

Well, the "visor" part is going to be the eyes, it's in the works ATM, I'm just not the best with 3d yet, the problem is getting them to glow while the rest of the model shines, I'm pretty sure the force mask item in game uses a modifier on the mesh to glow without an environment map, just figuring it out now

  10. Hey everyone! I just thought it would be nice to have a place to discuss some tools useful to modders that werent made with kotor in-mind. Some I use are: for viewing thumbnails in explorer: sagethumbs for photoshop: filter forge & this nifty pannel and my ultimate time saver : clover for modeling: zbrush & scupltris
  11. No, they are important - no exceptions - but what is porting has its solidified examples and its more liquid boundaries. This is unlikely porting. considering the texture is already in the second game, just at a different scale. The second texture only contains a portion of a texture. Also, porting implies making something from one game and changing it to be compatible with another game. The TGA format is used in both games, in the same format. porting is changing model formats from one game to the next. not rescaling textures, that is modding.
  12. I am making a strong argument that isn't porting. especially if you didnt use the whole texture. I have seen a few do this and openly, it doesn't go against the rules on file front, and frankly you are the rules here.
  13. they look very nice in-game, they have earned a permanent address in my override. and the aurabesh is awesome :-)

  16. When working with Aurebesh a lot, I found some interesting things on signs in some other games, like JK3.
  17. we do have some community made ones, but a few things in particular would be very useful: the orignal model tools, whatever tools they used for valid bump maps and cube maps, the module tools (for however they populated modules and got the location variables (without using an in game mod) oh and what they used for gui file editing. seeing that neverwinter nights had a tool kit, kotor probably did too.
