... ... ... He said he never made Atton a Jedi...

Hmm. I understand where you're coming from a lot, SIC. I have run into that modding wall more than a few times, but it keeps giving me bumps of wisdom and sending me back to KotOR/TSL. I actually don't find these games hard to mod at all. The parts about it that scare me are custom modules and weird scripting errors that make me want to hide the modding tools somewhere. I understand the scripting very well, just the game tends to have other interpretations at times. I actually got into programming from these games. You know the KotOR Save Game Editor? The author, Tk102, released the source code with the tool, so I searched google for a symbol from the source code, found Perl, and started reading. I haven't touched the Fallout games, but I know a few fanatics. Out of curiosity, what would you look for in the way of module-editing tools? Hope you don't get burnt out on these games. Also, there's a popular skinner named Vurt, who also made the leap to game design. He's the main texturer on Kenshi. Google it, will ya?

You are offificially me new favorite skinner, my friend. After you finish doing the entire game, do you still plan on skinning for this game? If so, how do you feel about custom module skinning? P.S: Thank you so much for putting so much work into a game most won't touch because of its age. As a buddy said the other day, "Rpgs will live on mods."

Hmmm. On the Xbox, I found a workbench close to Sion as the Exile... It was in a small cubby room.

Then try to upgrade the micropulse blaster with a Mandalorian chamber.

KotOR 1: Solari crystal not restricted
Fair Strides replied to Salk's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
That's what happens when you mod the game too much. I could probably name off between 50 and 100 scripting functions right now. We all remember some random bits and pieces of KotOR. I still remember the templateresref for the Boma because of some scripting experience I had back in November of last year. I spent a few days trying to make a custom function work, and I was using the Boma("c_boma01") as a test subject... -

Ah. In that case, I'd send a PM to ZM90. -

Yep, your fixes worked! Before release, you should probably put the .are file into the .rim. -
[KotOR] Tentative Fixes in Manaan - Tester needed
Fair Strides replied to Salk's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
Both issues are confirmed, though the Iridonian one I got around by hitting either the 1,2, or 3 number keys at the top of the keyboard and then going back through the tree... -
New Restored Content on KotORFiles
Fair Strides replied to milestails's topic in KotOR1 Restoration (K1R)
And I have proof that the devs cheated! Look at the back of the case and you'll see your party in the Taris Apartments. It always bugged me that they did that! -
Malachor VI: An Ending Mod
Fair Strides replied to VarsityPuppet's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
The key phrase there is "so far"... VP and Bead-V aren't really adding that much new content. They're mainly just rearranging the pieces to make more sense to the average Joe who hasn't opened 90% of the game's files in Kotor Tool. They are adding some new content though. If the plan hasn't changed, they will make it possible to manually travel to Malachor(so you can finish other quests first), make you make a choice of your priorities in the Trayus Academy, and some of the rest of the changes are here:(They were also in the FIRST POST) -
Now I getto read your posts with your voice pkaying in my head! Scary!

I know! Zybl, you sound freaking amazing! Irish, or Russian, or other? At 36:30-37:00= And HK-47 would be whining all the way about his blind spots! Just my two cents. I just have to say WOW! I really enjoyed this podcast, guys! Thank you so much for this. Nearly had me crying a few times. This hasn't a chance of escaping my hard drive. I love you Zybl! I lost track of who was who. The only person I could keep track of was Zybl.

I'm availabe! -
Sure, though my internet spotty right now. I'm Fair_Strides on Skype.

I downloaded them from official(for the modding community) sources and have used them myself with no problems. And if you want to use Bastila's voice, you'd have to splice it, and that most of the time sounds terrible; that's if she says the words you want to use in the first place.

You will need Kotor Tool, which is available here in the downloads section. This will allow you to edit most files for the game. You will also need: K-GFF= This lets you edit the files in Kotor Tool, DLGEditor = This lets you edit the conversations and make new ones, ERFEdit = This lets you pack the files that the levels use, NWNLexicon = This will help you to learn scripting (if you want), and a few others. You know, instead I'll just give you a link to the tools I downloaded. These are all that you should need, unless you want to make new levels from scratch, in which case you'll need gmax(free) or 3DSMax(costs money). Also, this place will help you as well. Now that I've given you the access you need, here's a warning I cannot express clearly enough... READ THIS!!! Also, if you need any help with scripting, you can PM me on here and at lucasforums, as well as ask for help here.

What was it like when you guys first started the project? How did you find "cut" content? Looking back on it all, what are your thoughts on the result?
