MOD AUTHOR: Sith Holocron ORIGINAL RELEASE: 22 NOV 2021 GAMES: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords Description: ------------ Don’t you hate unfinished business? I sure do. So . . . I was looking over my mods and I realized I had things left to finish. One of the collections that I hadn’t released before I left the staff of DeadlyStream (again!) was a minor texture. These cover the major of the monitors you would see in the Docks section of Nar Shaddaa. One of the reasons that this wasn’t finished was an error on some of the models that had some lighting issues on them. However, ebmar made a quick fix and that seems to have done the trick. In keeping with my M.O., I’ve attached a video so you can see a before and after comparison before you decide to download. With the exception of the NAR_tek1 texture, none of these are animated. Installation: ------------- Place MDL and MDX into the Override folder. Put all included TGA and TXI files into your KotOR2 Override folder. Uninstallation: ------------- Take them out again. To take out specific textures, please refer to the pictures on the download page as they clearly show which ones are which. Known Bugs: ------------- None known at this time. Special Thanks: ------------- Thanks to @ebmar would create that model fix or these textures would’ve never seen the light of day. Thanks to @Jorak Uln for the frame that surrounds the monitor on texture NAR_tekX. I recycled portions of that framework on some of the other textures. Thanks to @N-DReW25 for doing some beta testing and providing helpful feedback towards this project. And thanks to @DarthParametric for attempting to try and walk me through some of the issues regarding that model. He wasn’t successful but he did give it the college try! This modding toolset is a work in progress and I carry no responsibility to any damage done to your game files or lost work that may occur. Some antiviruses will flag a false positive and prevent you from opening the application. If this happens you will need to configure your antivirus to allow the program to run. Holocron Toolset is a collection of modding tools packaged in a single application aimed at streamlining modding development for KotOR/TSL, drawing inspiration from Kotor Tool and the NWN Aurora Toolset. There are editors available for nearly every file type used by the game. Also included with it is a 3D module editor and a "Map Builder" which the user can use to create new maps by rearranging existing models already used in the game. Discord for suggestions + bug reports: https://discord.com/invite/3ME278a9tQ If you are running Windows 7 or 8 and get a missing DLL error when opening the program you will need to download the Visual C++ Redist from Microsoft. 1 pointGreetings, I'd like to share with you the project I've been working on since summer 2020. Some of you may already have heard of it, as the development was public from the beginning. reone is an open source reimplementation of the KotOR engine, similar to xoreos and KotOR.js, but with a number of key differences. It is developed with extensibility in mind, meaning that modding capabilities it aims to provide are on a whole other level compared to the vanilla engine. For example, the graphics have already been significantly improved with the addition of physically based rendering. Current state of the project is such that the most fundamental engine subsystems are either complete or at least partially implemented, i.e. resource management, rendering, audio, GUI, scripting, conversations, combat and more. Given the current pace of development, I intend to finish the project by the end of 2021. My short term goal is to make the first Endar Spire module fully completable - a milestone, that will hoperfully bring more attention to the engine. Technologically, reone is a custom engine based on SDL 2 and OpenGL 3.3, written in C++14. This alone makes it highly portable - reone is believed to be working on Windows, Linux and Mac OS. Some background on myself: I'm a professional software developer from Russia and a prior contibutor to the xoreos project, responsible for most of its recent progress on KotOR. The drowtrodden residents of the Refugee Sector always appeared a bit too clean to me, dressed in the same outfit as your player character no less. Now they'll look the part with my implementation of an unused clothing variant (slightly edited) and a second one ported from the first game. Also applies to refugees by the landing pad. Stylized Portraits TSL Created by Tinman888 by Sdub & Tinman888 Version: 1.3 Description: After seeing the release by @DylanRPG and the Portraits done by Tinman888 who is a magnificent artist. I reached out to Tinman888 and discovered that he had finished some TSL Portraits! After gaining permission by Tinmann888 to create a pack made from his TSL portraits I got to work. This pack included all main party members with dark side transitions, generic female portrait, and generic bearded/Non Bearded male portrait One thing to note, the Widescreen UI can be a bit wonky, especially for the Aspyr version on steam. So I highly suggest using a widescreen mod otherwise the Portraits can look stretched. I use a combination of these two. https://deadlystream.com/files/file/839-improved-widescreen-experience/ & https://deadlystream.com/files/file/332-widescreen-ui-fix-for-knights-of-the-old-republic-2-the-sith-lords/ Easy install, open the folders of the portraits you'd like to use and Just drop them into the override folder. To uninstall remove the implemented files. Big thanks to the KOTOR Discord & Deadlystream Tinman888 for the wonderful art, you can see more of his art here! https://brandon_chen.artstation.com/ and on Instagram at @bchen.art and DylanRPG for the original pack which led me to discover the TSL portraits. -

I will continue to provide examples that I think might be useful to people, these are all for TSL so far. I hope these tutorials and any others I write will help people continue to make mods for KotOR 1 & 2. These tutorials are getting shorter and less detailed, I may or may not go back and re-write them at some point but if anyone struggles with anything feel free to message me and let me know what I haven't covered very well. Feel free to join the Discord for my project if you need help with anything related to KotOR modding and I will do my best to assist. Discord : https://discord.gg/S3YyfTjMV8 Base Game Scripts & How To Use Them KotOR Modding - Crash Course This 2 hour stream covers the basics of KotOR modding and some of the programs involved, I also regularly stream development of my mod project on Twitch/YouTube. Not all of this covers KotOR modding, there is about 10-20 minutes during the first hour where I get distracted and the second hour of it is mostly me playing games. These are the testing rooms but for K1 the room is lacking a texture but I find this just makes it easier to look through the characters. If anything in any of my short tutorials isn't clear or you don't understand for some reason then let me know and I will do what I can to help. ADVANCED TUTORIALS Utilising the following batch scripts and suggestions might take a while to get to grips with for some users but I would always advise doing so, it's very handy to have the ability to quickly generate a file list or compare things in various ways utilising the power of batch scripting. Comparing Level Contents Let's say you have two levels and you need to compare the differences of the contents. Extract everything from the original level to a folder called "level-a" and the modified folder to "level-b" Run the following batch script inside the "level-a" folder. file-list.bat Then delete or move the .bat file and move "file-list.txt" that it just created outside of the folder. You can also use this script to check that all the files exist. check-if-file-exists-from-file-list.bat You will have to move the file-list.txt and this script inside the folder to run the script. Now run this script at the same location as "file-list.txt" to run a file check against the contents of both folders. compare-files-from-file-list.bat Hopefully this might help someone, where I recently had to transfer all of my changes from manual installs to a TSLPatcher changes.ini file, I found this process helped speed the process up a little bit. From here, you should know which files differ and you can then use ChangeEdit.exe that comes with TSLPatcher in order to generate the differences between GFF files. Compiling Scripts If you have made it this far into the tutorial, you should already be familiar with compiling scripts, however for large projects you might need to recompile a lot of scripts at once, so here is a batch script that I used to do it. compile.bat Simply edit the script so that it points to the location of nwnnsscomp.exe for you and then you will be able to put the script into any folder that you need to compile a lot of scripts in and use it to do it all at once. If the scripts don't work for you, you might need to edit them and read them a bit in order to understand them and then to make sure that you have all of the right files in the right places. Thor110
