Hey all! Just about finished the base model for a Visas update I plan on finishing. Next step is to bake a normal, optimize my poly count, and then hand paint some textures! I'm thinking a stylized look will age better than attempting realism. Does anyone know what the limitations on poly count are for KOTOR 2? Id like to take this on down to around 2k. Obviously I gotta do the arms and head next too* Forgot to add that part xD

Yeah, to be honest, while I don't have the CP installed anymore I'm, quite happy with my current setup. The only issues I wish I could get a standalone fix for would be Deadeye Duncan not leaving after speaking to him on Manaan, the restoration mod I use to bring him back is pretty old so I imagine that's the issue with him not leaving. The Bastila thing of course, and also the Sound Dampening issue with the Assassin Droid on Korriban. If I could get fixes for those 3 things my KOTOR setup would be perfection. 👌

It would be nice to have a Bastila Vision fix standalone. I would do it myself but my expertise is very limited.

Not via scripting that I am aware of. The only UI control I know of is locking access to party selection and Hawk transit.

The main limitation is that the engine will crash when attempting to cast shadows from a high poly mesh. This isn't a huge problem, since typically for characters the bones are the shadowcasters, not the body mesh itself. A dress may require some tweaking of the bone trimeshes to get the right shape, or you can always make some decimated skinned meshes that have the render flag disabled as shadowcasters. From memory the upper limit for a shadowcaster mesh is around 2,500 tris.

Yup. It also happened in a Twitch livestream playthrough last month. I knew beforehand that the mod was going to break on the Star Forge because of some old, old comments about it. I think on the old Lucasforums or even the original kotorfiles.

Just an FYI, the mod stops working on the Star Forge. It also makes Bastila do weird... blanks during dialogue.

Your solution for Black Market and Construction droids works perfect for me. This was the only actual solution for this problem in the whole Internet, thank you.

The bastila romance mod doesn't touch the Carth dialogue file, meaning it does not affect what Carth says or does within that file. That mod simply allows you to romance Bastila as well. So unless you did not unzip/copy & paste into the override (installing it correctly) then you should have nothing to worry about. However, I would check BOS:SR for the following file "k_hbas_dialog.dlg" since romancing bastila mod requires that file to its modified version of that file. Just to clarify that's Bastila's party member dialogue file, which holds most of your conversations that are only between you and Bastila. If BOS:SR has that file, then these mods are conflicting and you cannot have both. Also, if you have any other "companion mods" that affect Bastila you should check for that file within them too, reskins won't have them, but if you have something else that modifies Bastila double check that.

Apparently cannister is less common but both can be used. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/canister

Ahhh yes . .. that's the " Cleaning Droid Warning System " voice. I've converted both her files and the Cleaning Droid Supervisor's files to the proper WAV format. Details for testing follow the same general format as listed above. If anyone has a save from before they've entered the Industrial Zone and you'd like to try the following files out, here are the instructions for these voice files. Move or delete files in the "804 overload" folder from the file path: \SWKotOR2\StreamVoice\804\overload. Move or delete files in the "804 IS43" folder from the file path: \SWKotOR2\StreamVoice\804\is43. Add the relevant WAV files attached to this post to the aforementioned folders. You'll of course have to decompress the 7z. Report back with your findings, please - and tag me when doing so. You'll need to note which droid or droids that you're testing. See attachments for files. Then someone else will have to test them then! 804 IS43.7z 804 overload.7z

I believe I've figured out which one you're referring to now. It's the droid I sometimes referred internally with the team as "The Inquisitive One" or the "Inquisitive Construction Droid Foreman." If this is the droid you haven't been hearing, that's a shame that needs to be rectified as it's one of my favorite characters in this mod. If anyone has a save from before they've talked with "him" and you'd like to try the following files out, here are the instructions for this different droid. Move or delete files in the folder from the file path: \SWKotOR2\StreamVoice\803\empl. Add the WAV files attached to this post to the aforementioned folder. You'll of course have to decompress the 7z. Report back with your findings, please - and tag me when doing so and note which droid or droids you're testing. Inquisitive Construction Droid Foreman.7z

Send me the files. I can look at fixing them after I get home from work. A 7z or RAR file will do nicely. PM them to so folks in the future won't grab the wrong package. Luckily I had time to do this before jumping in the shower. Move or delete files in the folder from the file path: \SWKotOR2\StreamVoice\802\blackmark. If you renamed if as Obi Wan Pere suggest, return the folder to the original name. Add the WAV files attached to this post to the aforementioned folder. Report back with your findings, please - and tag me when doing so and that you are telling me about this specific character. Black Market Replacement Files - Test 1.7z
