jc2 581 Posted December 9, 2017 So I'm curious what people think about Hakra, the insane man on the Manaan secret Republic kolto harvester. Somebody on reddit mentioned they always felt bad for not being able to save him. I thought I would try to remedy this, any thoughts on how it should go down? I've written a little dialogue and started splicing the lines, the less tampering I have to do the better, since that can quickly turn into very odd sounding sentences. So far my main idea, is that you tell him to wait in your submarine and you convince him to trust you because he's a jedi. Alternatively there's an option to trick him and then kill him, because "equality." Two undecided topics: does Darth Bandon slay him if this is the 2nd planet? Should I mess with the dlg of Darth Bandon to note this, place his body next to Darth Bandon's spawn? How does Hakra (insane guy's name) react once he reaches Manaan surface? Does he freak out? Thank you? Instantly die? Get arrested by the Republic or by Manaan? This becomes an issue because of voice overs, though he is the same voice actor for Davik (crazy right?), so would I try to mix Davik lines with his for a "happy ending." Not really sure. I don't really like the idea of this mod interacting with Darth Bandon, because it seems like that would cause incompabitlity issues, not to mention it would be annoying to do, but I thought i'd throw it out there in case someone supported the idea. Any thoughts or suggestions?
DarthParametric 3,781 Posted December 9, 2017 Is that the bloke hiding in the locker?
Sith Holocron 2,476 Posted December 9, 2017 Is that the bloke hiding in the locker? Seems likely, DP. jc2: Personally, I tend not to care about minor characters that aren't even given a name. If the game makers didn't care enough to invest enough time in the character, why should the player?

I thought it would be interesting to add that his name was Hakra, figured it would garner a bit of sympathy for the NPC. Edit: I'm not actually sure that's his name.... I can't seem to find anything that says that... I, honestly, cannot remember if i simply made that up... Well this is embarrassing.... The files only mention him as man28_wimp... ahaha. N-DReW25 1,330 Posted December 9, 2017 I feel like, just for a laugh, have it so that after the Trial scene if you go back to the Embassy the two Republic Scientist (If they survived) will have single lines thanking the player and near the pair will be the Locker with Hakra inside it and the player responses should be something like "You're on the surface, you're safe" but Hakra doesn't believe you and still think's he's inside the Rift Station.
BK2-Modder 16 Posted December 9, 2017 I second there being a path in which he remains in the locker even upon reaching the surface.
DarthParametric 3,781 Posted December 9, 2017 Perhaps you could hack a console to get a binary load lifter in there to carry the locker back to the sub.
superSzym 155 Posted December 9, 2017 Oh, the thing with the locker would be really nice and quite funny. I second that request.

I love this idea! Let's do it! Perhaps you could hack a console to get a binary load lifter in there to carry the locker back to the sub. Mmm this sounds like an interesting route, I think I will use it. Though part of me thinks that takes away from the humorous surprise of him showing up in the Republic Embassy still scared. jc2 581 Posted December 10, 2017 So I came across another.. interesting development. If the PC saves the two scientists won't they tell Ambassador Roland what you did? I guess that's a plot detail missing an explanation... How would the council or the Republic react to that? So I'm not quite sure how to include the 2 scientists..... Edit: I looked at the dialogue of the scientists they plan to expose you to the Republic... and also seem intent on waiting for the Republic to come and get them....
