Any Chance to Fix These "Plot Holes" in the next versions of TSLRCM?

Recommended Posts

I played Kotor 2 for the first time. Fortunately, I used this mod that restored lots of cutscenes that were cut. (Especially in Malachor V that lots of cutscenes were cut by Obsidian)

But there were 2 weird parts in the story (even with using TSLRCM) :

1. Bao-Dur suddenly disappears without any explanation !!!

I didn't know where he went!  Maybe this was due to the fact that I didn't find all of HK-47's parts.

From what I read he was supposed to die in Telos IV when invading the droid factory, which got cut to reaching the deadline .(And from what I heard there is also no voices or anything about his demise which makes restoring it difficult.)

I think that it isn't a bad idea to add a dialogue between the Exile and a NPC on Telos IV (before invading the Ravager ) that tells the player about Bao-Dur's fate. This at least makes it less confusing for the players that play Kotor 2 for the first time .

2. Handmaiden teleports to Telos IV without any ship .

I read somewhere that due to the fact that she thinks that the Exile is dead, she takes the Ebon Hawk with her. Then the Exile is supposed to find a new transport ship to there. (Which got cut.)

I think that you can easily make party members lying down on the hangar where Ebon Hawk was - and now it isn't - and then T3 tells you that Ebon Hawk is stolen. (Since Atton won't tell you that and T3 doesn't need voice acting).

And then Exile has to find a new way to get to Telos IV. (Maybe doing some quest for a merchant or paying him money?)

I think there are a few topics here and there that forum users have been talking about. Here's one of Sith Holocron's recent blog entries.

And there's also this topic which you posted on a little bit ago. It's just speculation and ideas from several of the forum members.

As for Handmaiden, I always envisioned her leaving Dantooine on one of those G-Wings...

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/G-Type_light_shuttle

Or those shuttles that go back and forth to Telos, even though it's not seen in-game.

The problem with that is that Handmaiden didn't need to knock out Atton while flying off Dantooine with a different ship.  It would make more sense if she actually used the Ebon Hawk instead.

Have you heard of the Extended Enclave mod? There's a nice cutscene on the Ebon Hawk that ties up that loose end nicely. In the video below, this part is at the 6:30 mark.

Wow.That's a Good Mod,Thanks. Why TSLRCM team didn't add it in their Mod ?

Honestly, I don't know. Like you, I'm kind of surprised they just didn't integrate it into TSLRCM. It seems simple enough to add in. And it ties up the Handmaiden and Kreia transportation inconsistency.

Guess we have to wait until we get that answer. it seems like that the developers have decided to abandon the internet completely for few months.(Which they deserve it imo)

Do you mean the TSLRCM crew? If so, then yes they really do deserve and need a break. Especially when one considers the amount of work and time they put into this project. After all, this project has been going on since the late 2000's.

I am by no means speaking for the TSLRCM team, but I was led to believe that they felt the Jedi Enclave part was long enough already, and extending it would have made it even longer. I may be wrong though.

I think for the same reason extended Korriban landing is its own mod. Some might consider it extraneous or speculate it was intentionally cut rather than left out due to rush, so it's left to player preference if one wishes to include it or not. I would, if Partyswap weren't such a necessity imo, but I think it was overall the right decision - that being said, I wouldn't mind if that minor plothole had been covered up, but it's not that hard to infer a solution

Well if it wasn't, either:

1.Other Party members should have mentioned his disappearance.

2.Bao-dur should have left a hologram massage for the player.

It's completely similar to remove Lando in episode 5 instantly after he rescues Lei and Chewie without any explanation.

1. Atton did. Listen.

2. Bao-Dur left a hologram message for the player - but it wasn't for the Exile, it was for the Remote. Again, listen.

Folks today wouldn't be able to handle waiting one movie to find out who Luke's dad is because they want all the information now. ::smh::

You and others might be waiting.  I tend to think that having all of the information doesn't necessarily make for a better story experience.  I would be incredibly amused if it turned out her parents were both no one we've ever been introduced to and no none we will ever be introduced to.

It's only interesting if there is a point to it. There isn't any point to Bao-Dur being missing, currently, because it wasn't finished and we are never going to find out the answer.

. . . which is why it wasn't included in TSLRCM.

Plot Holes are those gaps in a story where things happen without a logical reason. When a Plot Hole involves something essential to a story's outcome, it can hurt the believability, for those who are bothered by such things.  Bao-Dur going missing isn't a plot hole.  A lack of explanation of how the Handmaiden got to Malachor V also isn't a plot hole.  I suppose I just don't like the term "plot hole" being used willy-nilly like this.

Ya they aren't plot holes. Kreia not having a ship is closer to a plot hole than Bao-Dur disappearing.

Still doesn't mean that not having information improves the story. It might, if there is a purpose, but it has nothing to do with people lacking patience. Where Bao-Dur went isn't a question that's supposed to add tension, or give you something to think about (at least not once the story's over). It's a page that fell out of the script.

Some folks just like it when there's absolutely no question as to why something goes a certain way in a story. I'll go as far as to say "Yeah, I'm wondering where he went", but I wouldn't call it a plothole that such a question's not directly answered. Though it was meant to be crystal clear in the original script, I'm sure, I suppose it's now sort of the same as questioning "What happened to Revan?"

Tell whatever you want, but the main problem with Kotor is that there won't be any Kotor 3 to explain things.(Instead we have that crappy MMO game which happens few hundred years after Kotor 2) So in my opinion it's better to explain that which won't ever get explained.

1. Atton did. Listen.

I don't remember that part. I think it didn't play for me because I didn't fix HK 47 in my playthrough.(Didn't find the processing unit because I didn't knew that the game will go out of free roam when you enter the enclave)

2. Bao-Dur left a hologram message for the player - but it wasn't for the Exile, it was for the Remote. Again, listen.

I haven't even played the vanilla version of this game. I played this game using TSLRCM mod and then when I reached that part where I should play as remote I was like:"What the hell, Is Bao-Dur died ? Why no one even mentioned this to exile ?"

Funny that Kreia at the end of the game will tell you that Raven has traveled to unknown regions of galaxy and is going to fight the sith empire which started Mandelorian war.(Obsidian didn't left him out like Bao-Dur)
