Xuul 224 Posted February 2, 2017 It looks really good. I just checked out the Endar Spire and am quite impressed. Can't wait to see what else you come out with.

Lawkmt3 17 Posted February 17, 2017 Taris is very nice, but I'm scared to DL Reshade. I can't wait for Dantooine, and the other planets.
thunder3 56 Posted February 17, 2017 Taris is very nice, but I'm scared to DL Reshade. I can't wait for Dantooine, and the other planets. Thank you! You don´t need to download Reshade, it´s just a nice addition to that "old" game engine that adds some nice effects, but I dont think it´s a must have. thunder3 56 Posted February 18, 2017 Hey, had not much time working on this project, but I´ve got some new screenshots from Taris lower city and Dantooine Enclave: As you may noticed I´ve altered the look of the enclave a bit, other then my other reskins that I tried to look as close to vanilla as possible. I think I will make just two versions of Dantooine, one with the new reimagened style, and one, that´s close to the vanilla style..Some comparison screens will follow
Lawkmt3 17 Posted February 18, 2017 Oooh tough choice! I just hoped for a richer color contrast.

Guest Posted February 18, 2017 That new Dantooine is gorgeous.
Lawkmt3 17 Posted February 19, 2017 Being that Obsidian's Enclave and Bioware's are world's apart, I think the Enclave should be fair game. After all, the Jedi don't seem to "rough" it at the Temples on Couruscant or Typhon!
Mutilator57 140 Posted February 19, 2017 Hot damn, that's nice work, especially on Taris; I've been waiting ages for something this good!
Domino5555 119 Posted February 19, 2017 Years ago, it was stated that you wouldn't just remaster the textures of the modules, but of every single character, weapon, and effect. Are those on your list after you finish releasing the module textures?

Yes that´s on my list, and you´re right, I will do the other retexture, when I´m through the models.
Guest Posted February 19, 2017 Yes that´s on my list, and you´re right, I will do the other retexture, when I´m through the models. Holy crap that's a lot of work. May I ask, is it possible to change parts of the modules in KOTOR? There are some really bad seams on a 1080p monitor on Taris.

Yeah, that´s a pretty heavy load of work.. What do you mean by "parts of the modules" ? Do you mean remodeling them or at least remaking the UVs? Guest Posted February 19, 2017 Yeah, that´s a pretty heavy load of work.. What do you mean by "parts of the modules" ? Do you mean remodeling them or at least remaking the UVs? It would probably mean remodelling, as on Taris apartments there's parts of the modules that don't quite meet- there's visible holes in the module! DarthVarkor 384 Posted February 20, 2017 This looks great, thunder3, getting a Mass Effect 1 vibe from the Endar Spire and Upper Taris screenshots. Keep up the good work!

I think I understand what you mean. Playing 1080p does reveal some blemishes in the actual modeled areas. For example, the escape pod area of the Harbinger has a missing texture at the top part of the area, and it can be quite an eyesore if you know its there. That one isn't so bad honestly, I just consider it a window. I didn't notice many in K2 honestly. In K1 Taris is bloody awful for this kind of thing, there are holes between the walls and the floor in the Taris Apartments, the Taris Apartment lights in the central circular part also have gaping holes in them. thunder3 56 Posted February 22, 2017 I've been working on parts of the sewers today( mainly on the rusty parts ), I've updated the gratings, so the holes are transparent again (in the last screenshot they were just black.. ) What do you think about them? If you could provide me with some screenshots about the areas that need some fix, or point me a direction i will take a look into it. Oh and if anybody here can provide with some information about (correctly) extracting and then re-exporting area models, that would be such a great help!To be honest, the last time I tried to remodel some area models (I think it´s some years ago and it was the Ebon Hawk) everything went entirely black as I exported it from 3ds MAX back to KotOR so any information on that topic would be gold for me.

Fully extracting and reexporting is pretty much impossible. You'll either use lightmaps or animations. And in both cases you might loose even more that I don't know about. This is because MDLOps doesn't support lightmaps and KAurora doesn't support animations. Your issue with everything turning black could either be due to missing lightmaps or it could be the same issue I faced for some time. That was when I used KotOR Tool to decompile the models instead of the latest version of MDLOps. You can fix that by either giving KT access to the latest version of MDLOps (probably by replacing the mdlops exe in the KT installation with the new one but I'm not sure) or by extracting the .mdl and .mdx files to manually decompile them with MDLOps. And the new textures look great as always btw
