That if you warp back to Taris once you're done, most of the variable have been reset?

It's very odd coming out of the apartment to see the Sith confrontation again. And interestingly, if you pissed off the rich girl and she attacked you, she'll be back in the cantina but the only interaction you'll get is "Help! Daddy!"

Think I'll play around a bit more with reset Taris. I wonder why this is....

This is probably because the Taris level data is deleted from your saves once you reach Dantooine, so it's as if you never went into those levels. Things controlled by global variables would register changes but that's it.

Yes, at the Leviathan encounter. It does the same for ALL of the other planets when you go to the Unknown World.

You can see how this is done and even change it in the modulesave.2da. You can even set whether an area (like m41ad) is able to force an auto-save, or even if the area auto-saves at all.

That almost sounds like the possibility of a 'New Game +' mod. Once you either beat the Unknown World or Star Forge, you could have the option of teleporting all the way back to Taris to restart the game.

That would still require the game to reset all global variables and more difficult enemies. But it should be possible to do.

I would certainly not be against new game+

Wasn't there also a mod to raise the game's level cap? Because in my experience as a level grinder/completionist, I usually reach level 20 just before acquiring the final star map

And it was nice how in Kotor II the enemies' levels scaled along with yours

Raising the level cap in KotOR 1? Wouldn't that require work on hardcoded stuff?

Same here about reaching level 20.

I don't agree on the level scaling, I don't need a cannok or a random trooper to survive 4 lightsaber slashes. Yet, TSL needs it, as you just level too much in the game, and it would be impossible to balance planets for a possible difference of ~15 levels depending on the order you complete them.
