Quorwyf 0 Posted June 28, 2015 I'm crashing every time I try to go through the Nar Shadaa intro scene with Goto and the hunters. At first the crash occured as soon as the video of the outside of Goto's yacht ended. After I tried disabling shadows and frame buffer effects the scene began to go far enough that I can see Goto fly past the assembled hunters before it crashes. Switching from fullscreen to windowed had no effect. Threaded opt. is off. 1) During the game, when did the problem begin to occur? start of Nar Shadaa intro scene 2) Did you install the latest version of the mod? The few that sounded similar either didn't have solutions listed or were solved by changing affinity or process priority, which I either already did or the change had no effect. Quorwyf 0 Posted July 4, 2015 GTX 670 with 353.06 drivers. I have the the vista fix dll. ED - I found the problem. The game doesn't like goto .txi file. I've tried the goto reskins from TIP 0.4 and 90sk, game crashes any time I use the .txi from either mod. The crashing doesn't happen when the .txi is gone. I couldn't figure out what was happening so I gave up and stopped playing, then later bought game from GOG and same thing. Then I recently bought it from steam and problem went away. All that for 1 little file... Thankyou very much. This should really be pinned somewhere, cuz surely there must be others with the same problem. Also I encountered a lot of hard crashes around Khoonda, specifically when talking to Akkere, repairing security droids for Khoonda, trying to seal door for Khoonda, when placing mines in the west field, and after Vrook teaches you Ataru. Long story short: I ran into exactly the same problem and I think I found the solution and an explanation as to why this crash seems to appear mainly with the CD- and GoG-Version. There is a commonly known typo in the steam-version of the game which normaly prevents the crash from occuring, which is the absent spacing between words in the games .ini concerning the Vertex Buffer. In the steam-version of the game this reads as "DisableVertexBufferObjects=1" and is corrected by most players who install a bunch of mods, as this line seems to generate bugs with textures - I would the reason for that imagine to be an address-overlap between the VBOs and the Textures of some sort, but what do i know. However. If you own the steam-version and reinstate the line in the "swkotor2.ini" from your manually "corrected" "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1" to "DisableVertexBufferObjects=1" it seems to be running fine again. And I've just realized; the last post is nearly a year old - my apologies, but if anyone is still having the problem: this was a working solution (for me). I recently reinstalled KotOR 2, just got the GOG version, and I was running into crashes during this cutscene again. It took me a while to figure out that it was still being caused by .TXIs as I avoided reskinning G0-T0 to prevent this problem from coming back. I don't get why this fix works, but it apparently works for the GOG release too. I never spaced that line in the swkotor2.ini out so GOG must have "fixed" that line themselves. SilverAlter 1 Posted January 22, 2021 (edited) Going to Nar Shadaa and having this exact same issue. I don't know if anyone will see this but the DVBO thing doesn't work for me. At most, I kinda figured that disabling Vsync and/or(?) Frame Buffer Effects at least let's me see Goto and company for 3 seconds before it crashes. And it's not even consistent. I don't think it's Goto, because he loads just fine (also, no .txi file of him), but I guess the moment the camera is supposed to change towards something else (I haven't played in years, so I can't remember what happened there) I'm going crazy trying to fix this... it's so annoying. Please, if anyone can help i'd really appreciate it EDIT: Ok, in a bout of desperation, i just went and renamed the Override folder to see if it was something to do with mods. And it worked. Then I went checking each mod's page to see which could it be messing with that scene AND FOUND IT Ultimate Nar Shaddaa High Resolution - HD Upscale has a file named NAR_D_flr01.tpc that specifically messes with the yacht area. It's being actively being looked at, so hopefully it will be fixed soon.
