I'm using Photoshop, but GIMP should work fine.
-
If you open PMBBL01 with KotOR Tool you will see "envmaptexture CM_Baremetal" on the bottom left side of the window.
CM_Baremetal is another texture you can find with the KotOR Tool.
The alpha layer will determine how much CM_Baremetal "shines" through.
Pure black = 100% shining through, white = none. So, the edges of the backpack are very shiny/metallic (see below).
I'm not sure how things look in GIMP, since I don't use it.This one already has this functionality of the alpha layer doing that, in other cases you can add a basic text file with the extension .txi instead of .txt, with the same name as the texture to add this functionality *. In that basic text file you would simply have "envmaptexture CM_Baremetal", it's like an instruction on what to do with the alpha layer.
About Targa (.tga) types (also not sure how it works in GIMP). There's 3 types; the first is just 1 pixel has a color (16 bits/pixel), the middle one (24 bit/pixel) can have a transparency value per pixel next to the color, the third type (32 bits/pixel) has that alpha layer which we need in this case. So in this case you would want to save your reskin as the 3rd type.
* This doesn't always work, sometimes another file says "no, that's not how you behave", but that's a problem for another day.- 1
-
You're welcome!
p.s. I'm obviously interested in hearing from you about what you're using them for, for a mod or for a personal project. -
Alright, this is what I came up with:
The first 3 screenshots are from the Model Viewer, I'm sure they will look better in game but it's a bit too much work to set that up just for screenshots.
There's some unfortunate texture stretching going on on Corrun Falt's head, I guess it's a bit of a crude model.
Cheerio- 1

I suppose it's not possible to do something like that? If that's the case, I find it to be a rather serious limitation and it'd be one more thing that the former BioWare engine Infinity supported.
Yes, you can, item property.
Edit: oh, K1... yeah, that's a no- 1
-
1 hour ago, WarKingDovid said:Effix thank you. I was wondering about that when I noticed there were two folders inside. I thought I would explain my full plan. And the full details that I need to know. Since there are three directories in which to install mods I need to know what goes where? As I stated, I already have TSLRCM and M4-78 installed via the Steam Workshop. I would like to add these mods to the game, hopefully without confliction.
I figured out that the Meetra Surik head mod goes to the same place as the CJT mod goes: RCM folder. One thing I've been wondering is if CJT mod goes to the RCM will it still cause a conflict with M4-78EP so that the compatibility patch would still be necessary? It doesn't really say which folder Bao-Dur Jedi robe mod goes. Loadings screens and skybox for Coruscant, not sure where they go either. Should they be installed somewhere separate from CJT mod?
Meetra head -> point to TSLRCM location, it adds a row in appearance.2da (which is included in TSLRCM).
Bao-Dur robes -> point to TSLRCM location, it changes a row in appearance.2da (included in TSLRCM).
It shouldn't matter at which point/in what order you add these 2.
I'm not sure about the rest, but I think it's something like:
Start with TSLRCM+M4-78 (2-in-1) workshop mod.
Extract CJT mod, replace its changes.ini with the one from the Compatibility mod.
Install CJT to TSLRCM+M4-78 folder, replace those 3 files that the Compatibility mod mentions, with the ones that came with it.
Loadings screens and skybox for Coruscant, those sound like they should replace images that came with the CJT mod, so you add those after doing that mod, again to the TSLRCM folder. -
4 hours ago, Darth_Delator said:No, it must be "steamapps/workshop/content/208580/*numeric folder of TSLRCM*"

Effixian's Dancer's Outfit

TITLE: Effixian's Dancer's Outfit
AUTHOR: Effix(ian)
CONTACT: PM me on the forums or find me on Steam
-----------------------
DESCRIPTION
-----------------------
This mod changes the Dancer's Outfit and gives the item properties to make it more than a cosmetic item.
I made it so that the color of the outfit is different for the different player skin tones and for the Handmaiden and Mira (see screenshot).
What's cool about the Dancer's Outfit is that it can get a different look if the wearer has turned to the dark side.
Dancer's Outfit (cheatcode: giveitem g_danceroutfit)
Gender required: Female
Useable by: Handmaiden, Mira, [Player name]
Defense bonus: 3
Skills: Persuade +2
Charisma: +2
Regenerate Force Points: 1
Intelligence: +1
Wisdom: +1
The item properties and description will not get applied to a Dancer's Outfit that you've already acquired. So you either get it the normal way or cheat in another copy. That said, installing this mod does update the appearance of an outfit that you've already acquired.
The item icon only has one appearance.
I'm including a black option/alternative in which the white shirt and boots are black (see screenshot).

No armor has been made, the one in my screenshots is a vanilla armor. You could make a retextured variation of one.

The same. It's always giveitem [name of .uti file]:
giveitem g_i_mask113
giveitem w_blaste_113
giveitem w_blaste_114 -
Ok, new test files, including a save.
Not sure what the problem was, but I cheated the items in with a fresh character. -
I'm also on Win 10 64bit, but with the Steam version.
Not instantly crashing but after 10 sec. sounds really odd to me.
I doubt the textures can cause a crash, so.. the model?
Edit: ok, weird.. now I also don't have that artifact on the back and I also crash after I equip things on the Handmaiden. -
17 hours ago, Malkior said:I've been going over the model to fix the problems, and what's odd is that the issue you see in the Left Image Bottom Arrow isn't showing up like that when I open the model in Blender. I can only assume that something went wrong with the conversion to MDL. Sadly, I can't test anything in game since for whatever ridiculous reason, cheats aren't working even while I have them enabled in the Swkotor2.ini. Is there any way to get them in the game without cheats?
