  1. I really liked the movie. It just did a lot of things right. I know some people say that it felt like a lot of plot elements from the older movies were rehashed, but I don't really agree. Yes, some plot elements were reused, but it was done in a way that was still interesting, because they twisted the plot elements around. And to be fair, what Star Wars products don't reuse some elements? The Darth Caedus storyline in the EU reuses the family connection between the hero and the villain, the Legacy comics reuse the idea of a bunch of dark siders wanting to eradicate the Jedi, etc. Heck, even the beloved KotOR reuses a lot of stuff. Revan being some kind of be-all end-all force user like Anakin, or the young, headstrong, Jedi Bastila turning to the Dark Side or the major twist regarding the bond between the hero and the villain, or the Star Forge having a similar role to the Death Star... I also think there was a good balance of characters. Poe's role was relatively minor, but he'll probably appear more in later episodes, other than that it was well done. The old characters like Han and Chewie had significant roles, without overshadowing the newcomers like Rey and Finn, it was a nice balance. The new actors did a great job as well, I was especially happy with John Boyega. The poor guy was always presented in rather unflattering situations in the trailers, always being in distress and sweating, so I was kinda unsure what they were going for with Finn. However he ended up being my favorite new character, the guy has heart. What was probably my favourite thing though, is that the Force felt mystical again. Having Rey figure out some of the basic stuff instinctively (or maybe because she heard the legends of Luke's abilities?) felt refreshing. One of the things I always disliked about the EU and the video games was how they made the Force feel almost...mechanical? Like it was just another superpower that allowed you to use specific abilities like Force Lightning™ or Force Push™. It made the Force lose its wonder. In the Original Trilogy it was implied that the Force can be used for a great many things depending on the user's wishes, and then came the EU, the games and the Prequels, and suddenly you had a bunch of Jedi using the exact same tradmarked abilities in the exact same way. The Force Awakens reflected the mystical wonder of the Force as it was presented in A New Hope with Rey learning to do things by herself and not being told by a teacher that having the Force would let her do a Force Mind Trick™ or whatever. I just wish Episode VIII wouldn't be so far away. The movie left a good number of questions open that I'm really interested in finding out the answer to. I honestly don't care for Rogue One or any of the other Anthology movies, they feel completely unnecessary to me and I think they only exist to cash-in by using the Marvel Universe formula, so it's gonna be a long wait for me. Oh and another great thing is that the even though the movie is very obviously the first part of a new trilogy, it still felt like a complete movie that can stand on its own. It was just like A New Hope in that respect, both films were open to continuation while still feeling complete on their own. Damn, this ended up being longer than I expected.
  2. Wonderful, in that case I have nothing to worry about. I never use MODDB myself. Thanks for the info!
  3. Well to be fair, she does say "Thank you for freeing me from this tomb" when you encounter her on M4-78. One could argue that particular line of dialogue fits Korriban better than M4-78. You yourself just wrote "restored her alive in the tomb" even though the place Vash is in is technically not a tomb but the academy ruins. This shows that the Korriban ruins really do feel like a tomb to players. Comparatively, being trapped between two energy barriers near the control room of M4-78, with a bunch of droids around doesn't really make me think of a tomb. Although I never examined the dialogue files very closely so I could be completely wrong and maybe it's clear that the tomb line was meant for M4-78. I always found it to be a weird line for the droid planet though. Anyway, I see what you mean, there's really not much dialogue for her outside of M4-78 other than the standard topics all four Jedi Masters have, so including her would not be in line with the faithful restoration TSLRCM is aiming for. Then again the same argument could be made for Kaevee, who is restored despite having no original recorded lines, which may very well suggest that Obsidian actually intended to cut her. Although at least with Kaevee it's clear which planet she was meant for. It's a shame, restoring Vash in some capacity in the base TSLRCM would be neat in my opinion. But if it doesn't fit, then it doesn't fit. I'm sure the idea has been explored before during the making of TSLRCM, I was just curious if there was a chance that it could fit in properly with the restoration.
  4. I have both the GOG and Steam versions installed at the same time on Windows 10 and they both seem to work fine. Different mod setups on each of them as well.
  5. Hello everyone! I'm new here, been lurking for years, but I've never actually joined. Anyway, having followed the progress of TSLRCM, I have a suggestion that I've been thinking about since M4-78EP came out. So here's what I had in mind. TSLRCM doesn't restore any of Vash's dialogue, while M4-78 does restore her completely. However to be honest I'm not all that fond of the droid planet. The mod itself is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but I just find the planet itself kind of...well, boring. The basic idea of having an entire planet inhabited only by droids that all look the same, while running back and forth during quests, trying to remember which one was ES-01 and which one was ES-02, is not a very interesting one in my opinion. So even though the modding team put a lot of effort into M4-78EP I find myself not using it. However it would be great to see Vash restored if nothing else. After all the "ultimate" point of M4-78 with regards to the overall story, is that you get to meet Vash for a brief conversation (and learn an extra saber form! ). I know that TSLRCM is all about pure restored content, and what I'm about to suggest is more of a pseudo-restoration/add-on, but I think it could work for TSLRCM, or at least as an unofficial TSLRCM addon. Basically, the idea is to restore Vash on Korriban. You would find her alive, have the scripted conversation with her, and then she would leave as normal. Except instead of her being killed by the security systems of M4-78, she would be killed by Sion as they run into each other. If possible she could even help with the Exile's escape. I always found it weird how Sion just gives up chasing after you run out of the Korriban academy, having Vash stall him would fix that. Wasn't something like this planned to happen originally anyway? Or am I misremembering? If not, then she could just be cut down normally, it doesn't make much of a difference. The point is to have her alive and die by Sion's hand, or the Exile's, if you choose to fight her. Anyway, I think this would be a good idea because it would restore Vash in some capacity, which is one of the last big unrestored part of TSLRCM. This would restore the most important part of M4-78's events without having to play through the droid planet which I know some people (ar at least me) don't find fun. Plus it wouldn't really conflict with anything: the game already implies that Vash was killed by some Sith, and with Sion being the only one in the area, it makes sense that Sion killed her. With my idea, the same thing happens, we just get to see it actually happen. Nothing major is changed in the storyline, other than having the opportunity to talk with Lonna Vash, except on Korriban instead of the droid planet. So, what does everyone think?
  6. Is the audio skipping on Steam fixed even if I manually installed TSLRCM instead of using the Steam workshop download? Are there any known skipped lines that I could check during the game to see if it works?

I wasn't sure where to ask this but might as well do it here: would it be possible to recreate Jolee's default outfit for TSL? Would anyone be willing to do it? Porting it over would probably be easier but I know that is not allowed. Maybe the Sith Assassin outfit could be used as a base, it is basically a modified version of Jolee's clothes. I really wish it was in TSL's games files, Jolee's outfit would fit the male exile really well with a bit of reskinning, given that they both left the Jedi order and all. I always disliked how the exile didn't have a unique exile-ish outift. It is the one thing missing from TSL that I've been wishing for for years.
  8. Hey everyone! I have mullet man working fine on the GOG version but I tried the updated Steam version today and this is the result, some weird thing going on with the eyelids stretching out or something (that weird thing on his face tends to move when he blinks): Any ideas on how to fix it? I swear, the more I try to mod the new Steam version, the worse it seems. EDIT: Nevermind fixed it! It turns out that my kotor2.ini file had the line DisableVertexBufferObjects=1 looking like Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1, which caused the problem. The new Steam version's ini file is not supposed to have spaces.
