  1. So I made this rendering of Arren Kae, and from that came the idea of doing a version of the model that you could actually use inside the game. Now as I happen to be particular about game modifications being seamless, I decided that Arren’s apparel should for the most part resemble the Handmaiden’s robe, which is why the white robe on this model has no Jedi librarian patterns. Thought I’d still put those on the garments underneath the robe, but it’s not quite the same. Obviously I used Kreia’s model, the changes I did to the geometry are limited to the hood and the eyelids, which coupled with the work I did on the textures, result in the looks of a woman about the age Arren probably was at the time of the Mandalorian Wars. We don’t know if she was Echani or not, but I left the hair color unchanged. Her lips and eyes are as close to the Handmaiden’s as I could make them, because supposedly Brianna “bears the face of her mother.” The blue stone and necklace is there because her Darth Traya look includes an ornament with a red stone. All in all it’s not terrible, maybe I’ll work on it some more in the future
  2. I don't know how it feels but I feel bad anyway because empathy. I hope you stay strong.
  3. About my last blog post, the in-game version of the Arren Kae model is nearly ready, I'll be posting previews shortly. Not too shabby you know, to be sure it came out better than I expected.

    Rendering of Arren Kae

Not part of anything really. I might use it as a thumbnail for this youtube video. Sith Holocron suggested I post my mods here so, if I do that, might as well take a crack at this new Arren Kae model. It wouldn't be a reskin though, more like remodeling: Eye meshes and textures are taken from the Handmaiden model Hood and eyelid meshes are modified Some work was done on her lip and eyebrow 'bones' to unshrivel her face If doing all that for an in-game model proves difficult, I might start easy and release better versions later on.

    Rendering of Arren Kae

Did this in a 3d modeling suite, but one might even turn this into an in-game character model. Big belly aside. Hood, eyes, and eyelids would probably take some time to get right. The bump-map textures, can't say I ever tried making those.

    Wrist-mounted flamethrower

Thanks jc2. As I said I'd rather not add a permanent wrist device to Mandalore's model, perhaps I'll improve on that gun nozzle visual effect and see how it goes. Nope, for now I'm just trying to make it look good.
  8. I’m trying a few new things, ‘new’ as in things I haven’t tried before, because let’s be real, giving Mandalore a flamethrower, somebody must have come up with this idea before. This is what I came up with, I moved the handconjure dummy to make the the flame spray beam originate from the wrist instead of the hand. Then I had to add some sort of gun nozzle, and I meant for it to come out of Mandalore’s vambrace, but I still haven’t found a way to make it look good. I’d rather avoid adding meshes to an existing 3d model, the end result never looks as good as the original model, or as smooth I should say. What I did was add an entry in visualeffects.2da so that the gun nozzle would only appear as a visual effect for half a second, unfortunately you can’t hook up a visual effect to just any body part you want, so I had to use the root dummy. I’m not satisfied, perhaps I’ll give it another try, meanwhile it’s been fun

    Old thread follow-up

How do you go about overriding area walkmesh files One day I decided Atton really ought to take a seat, specifically on the Administration Level as he operates the console. Normally he would stand, and a convenient camera angle would make it look like his hands were on the console. Why do that when everything looks like he's meant to seat down, there's even his favorite chair from the Ebon Hawk. Unfortunately the walkmesh of that area didn't agree, the spot where Atton would need to be is not walkable, and I couldn't seem to make it walkable with WalkSwitch. Now I've suddenly had the idea to modify the animation so that Atton wouldn't need to be there, moving the animation root will make the animation play exactly where it needs to play. So I made a stunt model for Atton using S_Male02, which has the animation, and put it in the dlg file. I hex-edited four numbers inside the model, renamed the file, and there you have it, Atton uses the animation from the dialog stunt-model and appears seated on the chair with his hands on the console. Muahaha.
  11. So I take the model file for this specific area and give it a closer look, and I see one particular mesh that has a modifier called Aurora Walkmesh. I take it haven't been able to override the wok file because the walkmesh is embedded in the model?
  12. Removed all placeables from the module, no difference, it doesn't seem to be the problem. I also tried flagging other tiles as "non-walk", and I can still walk over them as if I hadn't made any changes, that's why I asked if the override folder was the place to put the modified wok file, because it's as if the game doesn't even look for it there, going instead with the original walkmesh.
  13. That's an invisible placeable for the Administration Computer, do invisible placeables have a walkmesh?
  14. The txt extension is just so I could attach the file. You're looking at Peragus, precisely where Atton joins the party. The faces I touched are 144 and 145, they used to be flagged as non-walk. 101peras.wok.txt
  15. Hi, thanks for replying. I expected to walk on a previously unwalkable tile, but it's as if the modified wok file is completely ignored. Is the override folder the place I should put a wok file that is meant to replace the original, or perhaps not?
  16. Hello, I'm having trouble replacing a WOK file, what I do is modify the original with WalkSwitch, put it in the override folder, and I thought that was it. What am I missing?
