About This File

Summary

This mod uses a mix of new and unused content to restore an alternate ending that was cut from the game. With this mod, players who have romanced Carth and fallen to the dark side will be presented with the option to seek redemption in a new ending distinct from the base game light side and dark side endings.

Choosing the dialogue option "No, let him speak. I want to hear what he has to say." in a conversation with Carth at the end of the game will lead to the restored sequence. The player will then have the option to choose the base game dark side ending or the new ending.

Is this an unused animation? How does this not warrant a modification to the S_male/female model files?

Regardless, fantastic work here!

It's a custom stunt animation. Regardless, you can't add new anims to the supermodels. Well you can, but new names won''t be recognised, so the only option is to hijack an existing anim. Supermodels are for generic/dynamic anims, not specific cutscene anims.

Yeah, because it's a cutscene animation, it has a separate stunt model. The benefit is that you can have the animations be pretty much anything for that specific cutscene. The downside is it can't be used everywhere; the animations have to be tailored for the area the cutscene is in, and the dialogue has to be configured in a certain way to support cutscene animations.

I used part of the Dantooine training montage as a base (Bastila and the player walking by the rotunda) and then adjusted the animations to make them hold hands. Or at least get as close as I could get to making it look like they were holding hands after two days of working on it. I might revisit it in a future update to smooth some things out.

I just downloaded and played this mod moments ago. I can't thank you enough! My dreams of having this rather secret cut ending play out to such an incredible animation at the end, complete with credits and a comprehensive sequence of cutscenes, is a dream come true. I literally jumped out of my chair with my hands in the air that's how floored I was at this ending. I don't think BioWare could have done better if they tried all those years ago. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
