Freeloader 0 Posted April 21, 2011 Hey, thanks Mrphil ! Now, the only thing we need is someone who brings this mod to TSL (or someone who brings the whole gamefeats like the expanded workbench possibilitys from TSL to K1) since I (dunno why) prefer TSL ^^ Another idea! Or many ideas combined: 1: The TSL developpers were very well aware of the problems with power-up Force Powers: There are just to many. You click all the time and when you buffed yourself with everything up, some powers just start to vanish. They did something against it: The Force Power you get after meeting all the Jedi Masters. But, well, even with the fix that you just get the powers with it you actually learned (which means no master-speed when you haven't skilled it), you still have to click an awful lot. In the case you didn't learn the force power order by heart. Could there be a possibility that you remove the selection for the buffs that get summed up in Force Enlightment in the moment you get it? 2: Increase the duration of Force Sight! I think otherwise it's just to useless and not even worth the time being casted. I think about 1 or 2 minutes instead of... 30 seconds? 3: Maybe generally increase the duration of every powerup Forcepower? Just to 30-45 seconds ^^ Next one: Reuse some K1 modules in TSL instead of reusing TSL modules with other textures. Would bring something new and fresh into the game ^^
Guest We are called Legion... Posted April 23, 2011 Is there a way to increase the damage Mira does with her rocket launcher? I have never modded KotOR before, but I don't think it would be too hard, just using mod tools to modify the appropriate value I would expect. But even this I do not know how to do or what program to use. To change the damage done by rockets you need to modify the script k_sup_grenade (which also controls the damage for all grenades as well). Other than that, I don't know of any ways to change the rockets. If you are unfamiliar with scripting or just aren't comfortable with it, let me know and I would be happy to help you out! Well, thanks for the response. I opened up that script in the KotoR Tool and my first reaction was "WHAT????!!?!?!?!" I seriously have no idea what's going on there, what I have to change, or how to actually apply it into my game afterwards. So let's just say I have no idea about scripting. It's no big deal, although the one thing I am curious to know is if you were to do it, what exactly would you do? My best guess at the moment is to extract to .ncs, edit it, and place it in the override folder? On a related note, I tried to make a custom item for the first time today, which was also a grand failure. I tried looking at a few tutorials and played around with the KotoR Tool but didn't really get anything done. I just don't have the time or patience to actually learn how to mod KotoR, as much as I would like to. It's just not worth the effort for me to learn. As a result, I have gained a newfound respect for all you modders out there.
Guest bendarby24 Posted April 23, 2011 In my mod - the TSL BEN.DS rebalances mod - I have increased both the damage of rockets and grenades. Download my mod and copy and paste these files into your override: all the g_w files (e.g. g_w_thermldet01.uti) and then copy and paste both k_sup_grenade and all the w_rocket files (also into your override) and have fun! This is mod is available here at Deadly Stream - just use the hyperlink at the beginning of this post.

My best guess at the moment is to extract to .ncs, edit it, and place it in the override folder? You are very close, but instead of extracting the .ncs file, you need to extract the .nss file. The .nss files(the source scripts) are written so that humans can understand them, and the .ncs files (the compiled scripts) are compiled versions of the .nss files that only computers can understand. Editing the .nss files are not too hard if your only making simple changes to things like the damage done by grenades (the gamemakers left plenty of comments in the code so you can't get completely lost). Once you have finished your changes you need to compile the .nss file into a .ncs file (and there are several tutorial out there to do that). But I would just listen to bendarby24's advice and take the files you need from his mod. Also, what problems did you have making a new item, I could probably help you with that as well. Well, thank you very much! I finally was able to do it myself, with your explanation and some tutorials over at Holowan Labs. I modified Mira's rockets so that they do much more damage but also have a smaller area of effect, it works perfectly just how I want it to now. KotoR Tool was a bit screwy to start with but I kind of got the hang of the very basics of script editing now. It was actually kind of fun, I actually might try some more modding in the future

Mandalore 61 Posted April 25, 2011 Dialogue editing is more ... I will accept the fact that dialogue editing is enjoyable, but I still hold to my belief in scripting. I suppose each modder will have their preferences.
Guest We are called Legion... Posted April 25, 2011 I suppose each modder will have their preferences. If every modder liked doing the same things we would not get a whole lot done. (Especially not mods like TSLRCM!)
Silverius 0 Posted April 26, 2011 Request: would it be possible to mod KotOR1 robes to looks more like KotOR2 robes? or if it has already been done, where would I find it?
Guest HK-47 Posted April 30, 2011 Answer: I think that's already been done. I don't know where it is off hand. Query: Could there be implemented a one handed lightsaber/sword attack animation to Kreia? Explanation: She looks goofy using the two hand animation. I don't know how useful the one used for Nihilus and Malak are as they used both hands with some attack moves too. It's always been a bother to me.
Guest Mablus25 Posted May 2, 2011 Request: Would anyone make the black and white Lightsaber model for double, Single and short style, the black crystal and the white crystal without overwrighting the current lightsaber models and the crystals?
ToXiN 10 Posted May 4, 2011 Looks like we're getting a new generation of modders. A new Modding Order It's nice to see that there is still a decent sized modding community for the KotoR games so many years after their release, and that new people are joining the modding scene, and great new mods still being made like the RCM still being updated and Revenge of Revan coming up. I doubt I will ever make anything I will release publicly and move beyond minor tweaks for myself. But its great to see the KotoR mod community well alive. Guest HK-47 Posted May 7, 2011 Statement: This is something that has always been a bother to me. I was going to put it in plot holes, but it's not a plot hole. It's a bother. Statement: It is when you talk with Atris for the first time and she accuses you of destroying Peragus II. If you didn't, you don't get to choose the option "So now I get blamed for the actions of the Sith?". It seems odd to not have a defensive option and only the options indicating that you did destroy Peragus, when you didn't. Opinion: Even if you did destroy it, I feel it should be there as a lie or truth option depending on whether you did or didn't destroy the planet.
Mandalore 61 Posted May 7, 2011 Good idea. I might have a look at that (but that's not to say it's definitely going to happen - it's a possibility for once I've updated Cassus Fett's Battle Armour).
Hassat Hunter 571 Posted May 7, 2011 Atris .dlg has fixes in 1.8. So you might want to wait till then. I'll see about wheter or not the mentioned issue is really an issue.

Guest We are called Legion... Posted May 11, 2011 Does anyone know if HK and T3 are hardcodded to use their texture files? (P_HK47_01 and P_t3m4_01 respectively) I have been trying to make HK and T3 have different skins based on the armor that they are wearing like your other party members, but I can't even seem to change their skins at all! This kind of stuff is the same kind of modification that has been made by Chainz.2da for his Kreia mod. Maybe you could try to contact him? At any rate, I think he used scripts and appearance.2da.
