Weather shouldn't be too hard to add, there are lightning, snow, rain etc. options in the .are (IIRC).

Manipulating them is another thing probably though, but since it's in the same file as time, and that can be adjusted...

Unfortunately, they appear to be pretty well cosmetic in K1. Not only are there no fx textures for rain/snow, creating your own doesn't appear to do much good. (I just tried it with a custom fx_snow texture, to no avail.)

The rain texture in TSL is the same one as the dripping water IIRC, and the snow looked like it was just the bright dots that are in the explosions. I've already made my own version of both, and could just replace the bottom layers in their respective PSD files with those, so it would be fully K1 assets. Unless you mean actually creating effect files, in which case, may be more difficult.

Hope you're still working on this mod! It would be one of the most amazing things ever done for Kotor. I can imagine a lot of guys would start doing custom skyboxes for this mod as well once its finished....

Oh, it is! I just need to finish K1R 1.0 and then in the breathing room before Sleheyron begins in earnest, I'll be working with Malkior to implement this on Dantooine as a true public teaser.

 

AKA: Don't worry. I just need to get off my lazy ass and do something. :)

Fantastic! Kexikus is digging into Teragen quite some time, and has teamed up with Quanon to make some 3D models for the skyboxes so they might be an option as well - anyway thats great news, i cant wait for more next gen mods...

Will this mod be compatible with Kexikus' high quality skyboxes?

 

We were discussing it, so the answer is probably yes. But the textures I'll make for this mod will have a lower resolution than the ones I make for my own mod (simply because it'd be way too much work to make 24 skyboxes per planet in 2048 the way I'm making them).
