From the album: Tests
The preliminary draft for my higher detail retexture of the Telosian grass. The non-animated main texture isn't final, but it's so far the best version I can come up with at the moment. -
From the album: Tests
A different shot of the latest fireball test to show more of the overall shape it has. I changed a few key things like the FPS in the emitter to hopefully have a more natural look to the animation itself as well. -
From the album: Tests
Happy New Year, all! I figured the fire looked a bit blurry, so I changed the image size to a higher resolution and ran an old-school upscale algorithm. ( Sharpen -> Diffuse:Anisotrophic) to increase the detail. -
From the album: Tests
Just a different view of the higher detail fire effect. If possible, I'd love to add an Aurora Light to the effect as it feels kind of strange that it doesn't cast light, but that fully depends on whether that's even possible with the tools at our current disposal. -
From the album: Tests
So far this is my favorite stage of the fire effect due to the sheer variety of effects. The smoke starts to rise out of the red-hot center as small embers rise. -Part of a redesign for the fireball effect- -
From the album: Tests
A new smoke effect when the fire is depleted with small whisps of flame. -Totally accidental side effect of editing the alpha layer that ended up as a new feature of the fireball I'm working on -
From the album: Tests
Learning how to make the fire look right with the game's color scheme. As an added bonus, the fire now has dark smoke. -
Wait, they were worried The Son of Mortis would alienate audiences yet they created Snoke and a majority of the new characters out of thin air? This really was a case of film writing by committee. BTW The whole Son of Mortis subplot sounds interesting and could have actually tied up the dangling plot threads about Snoke and the Knights of Ren. It's honestly a shame they never went for it.

Very interested in this one. Surprising that Sion didn't even have "ignore pain" since that is literally all he is about. Did you also edit their force powers, or is this purely a Stat alteration?

Game of Thrones ShowRunners to produce Star Wars Trilogy
Malkior replied to VarsityPuppet's topic in Star Wars
The funniest thing is something called The Mandalorian rolls in filled with the passion, creativity, and treasure trove of Star Wars history and suddenly becomes an instant fan favorite. It's as if everything that proceeded are cheap imitations and actually caring about Star Wars was the prerequisite to making a good Star Wars film. -
I've also noticed on mobile that the convenient links to related pages on the bottom of the page have "ad"s nested between them creating a higher chance of accidentally clicking on a popup to Revan-knows-where.

I assume it's because of the new layout/host after the upgrade. Ironically I didn't notice them as much since my phone blocks ads carte-blanc and I primarily use my phone to browse the site. Blocking ads chokes potential funding for upkeep of the site and so is bad for us, right?

From the album: Tests
Quick proof of concept for how I want the grass to end up looking. The floor is using an image I downloaded from an internet search and will be replaced by my own texture. -
Hmm.. I have been editing a lot of lightmaps lately; not that I'm volunteering per se but creating that look would be fairly easy once it was determined which lightmap affected which object and which D-Light needed to be changed.
-
From the album: Tests
Since I was working on the Lightmap, I took the opportunity to create faux lighting on the crashed shuttle including a slight fire effect in the engines. -
From the album: Tests
Some beach shots. Cleaning up the seams left over from editing the lightmap accidentally created a better delineation between the grass and sand. It took forever, as is the case with seams.. -
From the album: Tests
Created shadows in the canyon to hopefully make the lighting look less flat. -
From the album: Tests
I decided to just improve Telos as much as I can rather than just focus on the Foliage; maybe make it look like a place someone would actually want to go. -
From the album: Tests
This is an example of some shadows I tried to create to remedy how flat the level looks. Fun fact: In Vanilla, all of the shadows baked into the module are facing the wrong direction. Just look at your character's shadows and you can see that the level shadows are facing almost the opposite way. -
From the album: Tests
Just in time for Halloween, I present spooky Telosian trees. (Seriously, though I'm just remaking the entire branch structure since the detail was so degraded) -
From the album: Tests
Some more work on those Telosian Trees. These things really look like something from Doctor Seuss when they don't have leaves. -
Technically, it's not quite as unethical if you're using the license to learn the product and not trying to make money off of the things you make with it. I too used it as a student (in an actual 3d modeling class) and I felt that my license was wasted once I finished the class and had to focus on other courses. I believe the makers of 3DS max just want people to use the Student trial to get used to their product so that they purchase it in the future once the trial expires.

From the album: Tests
A bit closer to what the trees should look like -
So this is a thing apparently . . . Star Wars Space Punch
Malkior replied to Sith Holocron's topic in Star Wars
My first thought is, "Collectors Edition"?! It probably doesn't help that I've never even heard of these. -
From the album: Tests
Now blending the new grass texture into the rest of the grass layer along with the lightmap additions. In the next phase, I plan to create a high detail texture for the grass and weeds.
