    Tried to start Mass Effect through Steam, but it crashes immediately on startup. Win7 64-bit, I've changed everything to XP SP3 compatibility with admin privelages, and ran the launcher directly - config works from the main menu, but the game doesn't. Any suggestions?

      I verified the game cache, and that was all fine; Google says running Steam itself as admin can help - I'll try that, and if that doesn't work, I'll contact customer support.

      Well, turns out I'd set compatibility on the launcher and config, but not the game itself - works perfectly now.
