Thinking of removing TSLRCM from the Workshop
Hassat Hunter replied to Hassat Hunter's topic in TSLRCM
Okay, this is getting a little hostile, and since the hypotethical pulling has been pulled, the thread doesn't serve much purpose anymore anyways. Can't say I'm all too happy about that myself, since it basically feels to me like letting Valve run right over me without making any kind of stand, but such it is. Also, myself I pre-ordered TSL, followed Team Gizka closely, played their leaked beta, reported the zillion bugs in it, got insulted and left on with Zbyl and Stoney as beta-tester. Yup, that was all I did. Till around 1.6 if I recall correctly. Only then did I start downloading some tools and trying to put some of my own work in rather than just pestering them with a gigantic list of stuff for them to fix. And well, the rest is history, but that does mean even I wasn't into modding for the entire lifespan of TSLRCM itself, let stand TSL. -

No, that means it runs the VO-line and then continues once it's done. -

Yup, by using the "delay" field of the dialogue editor. -

So I guess Zbyl might hate me after all, that's why I'm the uploader... -

Not really, you're not alone in that... I much prefer silence in RPG's above full VO aswell... which made me go "nnoooooooo" when Larian mentioned the enhanced edition of Divinity: Original Sin got full VO... and I'm glad D:OS2 does not. Also Pillars of Eternity got it really bad where VO and denoumers were intersperced in the text, but the VO was constant. Made it very confusing to read something, hear it spoken, then suddenly a part was missing that you needed to read very quickly or re-read later... it was... confusing. Tl;dr: You're not alone. -

Heh, I probably deserve your little stab at me there. Actually, not sure where you're from, but here they love a good scandal. And some of the most popular Dutchies used to be (or still are) criminals at the moment. (PS. Being PR on Steam can be a royal pain) -

Well, mulled it over with Aspyr, who made a bunch of good arguments why not to do this, so in the end I guess I'll just have to bend over to Valve and be miserable. :/ -
Otherwise you can always pass it off as pre-Pre-Alpha...

Yes, I do LOVE throwing my money into a useless black hole. Wasting money is my favorite activity. So kind of Steam to appease to my inner "buy crap you never use OR ELSE" mentality. [/sarcasm] -

@Seconddoubt: Not that I know of, Zbyl would need to fully re-upload it. I did read about WinAuth, but the whole point was a "second device", obviously people massively circumvent that (no stuff with this draconic penalty stuff) voiding the entire point. So why not allow an opt-out. Cause Valve's are being dipsplits. And an emulator would still require resources, is a security risk and to top it all of I am FORCED to run that alongside Steam every time I would want to trade or use the market. The hoops are real. -

That wasn't exactly my first, tenth or twentieth even post in that thread. Opening? Don't make me laugh. -

Because it's not 9 March yet, so this is all hypotetical till they infact do the much hated change. The wish of course is for Valve to come to their senses before then. -

I hate it as much as you do, but the only alternative is just letting Steam waltz over people. I'm not going to suck it up. This is the lesser of evils. EDIT: I tried the talking path, they banned me... so... -

1. I don't have a smartphone. 2. Massive penalties that completely make me unable to trade or use the market (except for buying of course...) 3. I don't want my work up on Steam with this, pull out while I still can before Steam goes even more draconic. -
Feel free to be disgusted:

Well, most dialogues will most likely skip fastforward so you need to use the dialogue log to read back on it... -

Basically this: I do not feel comfortable having TSLRCM (my work) up on Steam if Steam treats me like a second-hand user. I am not going to support them if they do everything in their power to gun me down. If Zbyl disagrees he's free to re-upload it, but he will have to maintain it and deal with the people. -
Look at what was in the last bundle, exclude that from the Star Wars collection - what remains is possible.

Which just shows me it'll do all the more damage to Steam pulling it. And I can hardly be called pulling the plug if newer versions still come out, just not on the Workshop. -

Well, the threads (threats?) been made on the Steamforums, let's see what users think. -
You do realise you could just update your $10 pledge, right?
