  1. First, each of the portraits would have the heads facing the same and at the same angles as the originals. For channa2 and channa2b, besides having use the dark sides skin, I would be using two different backgrounds. For the light sided version, I'll likely be using your Taris background without the bombed out buildings. For the dark sided version, I'll be using the "Taris Destroyed" version. I'm guessing po_channa3b is used for when she's a temporary party member in BOS's prologue. So I think the interior of that Hammerhead ship you're on in that prologue will work for her portrait. And that po_channa is when she's your regular party member. So I could reuse the Ebon Hawk one for that. But for po_channa3.txi . . . I'd like to find out what this one is for. I will change this to standard "head-shot" style portrait but I need to know the portrait's context so I can figure out the background. So players of this mod, where is this portrait used?
  2. Reply with "+1" if you use Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge every time you use KotOR. This is a poll and I am not looking for commentary. ;)

  3. By the way, I will be using Kexikus' High Quality Skyboxes for Channa's Mandalorian Wars flashbacks if I wind up doing this.
  4. Received your warp codes. Thanks a lot. As for the portraits, would you say that in your opinion that I'd only really need to make the first portrait for Channa? Those Warp Codes by the way are: bos_bridge - Mandalore's Capital Ship Bridge bos_canyon - Korriban Wastes Canyon bos_circle - Dreshdae Civilian Quarters bos_czerka - Czerka Mining Facility (Main Level) bos_czerka2 - Czerka Mining Facility (Castigation Level) bos_czerka3 - Czerka Mining Facility (Residential Level) bos_czerka4 - Czerka Mining Facility (Maintenance Level) bos_digsite - Dreshdae Dig Site bos_ebovis - Ebon Hawk (Shadow Vision) bos_msp1 - Mandalore's Capital Ship (Docking Bay) bos_msp2 - Mandalore's Capital Ship (Crew Quarters) bos_msp3 - Mandalore's Capital Ship (Bridge Entrance) bos_orion - Orion Crew Deck (Shadow Flashback) bos_orion2 - Orion Starboard Section (Shadow Flashback) bos_pit - Empty White Box Prison (???) bos_rep2 - Formidable (Shadow Vision) bos_sewers - Dreshdae Sewers bos_sincan - Canyon (Akirakon Sin Flashback) bos_sintem - Temple Exterior (Akirakon Sin Flashback) bos_sintem2 - Temple Summit (Akirakon Sin Flashback) bos_stage1 - Dantooine Council Chamber (Akirakon Boss Trial 1) bos_stage2 - Mandalore's Capital Ship Bridge (Akirakon Boss Trial 2) bos_stage3 - Revan's Flagship Bridge (Akirakon Boss Trial 3) bos_stage4 - Lehon Temple Summit (Akirakon Boss Trial 4) bos_stage5 - Korriban Temple Summit (Akirakon Final Cutscene) bos_taris - The Battle of Taris (Shadow Flashback) bos_tem0 - Korriban Ancient Cave bos_tem1 - Temple of Shadow (Long Hallway) bos_tem2 - Temple of Shadow (Solomon Encounter/ Holding Cells) bos_tem3 - Temple of Shadow (Inner Chamber) bos_tem3b - Temple of Shadow (Inner Chamber Post-Battle Cutscene) bos_tem4 - Temple of Shadow (Hallways) bos_tem5 - Temple of Shadow (Chasm Bridge) bos_tunnels - Mining Tunnels bos_wastes - Korriban Wastes (Desert) bos_wastes2 - Korriban Wastes bos_wastes4 - Korriban Wastes (Cave Exterior) ship - Orion Main Deck ship2 - Orion Starboard Section (Exchange Attack) ship3 - Orion Starboard Section (Post-The Shadow's Bane Opening) ship4 - Orion Main Deck (Post-The Shadow's Bane Opening) ship5 - The Shadow's Bane ship6 - Orion Starboard Section (Post-First Akirakon Sin Defeat) vision1 - Dantooine Council Chamber (The Shadow's Bane) vision3 - Revan's Flagship (The Shadow's Bane) vision4 - Dantooine Jedi Academy (Shadow Flashback) vision5 - Dantooine ruins (Shadow Flashback)
  5. Have you considered making new ships and uploading them as modder resources?
  6. I'm considering doing an expansion pack for my NPC Portraits for KotOR 1 mod covering characters from Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge that would be released separately. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, I'll need some questions answered and perhaps a few save games. (1) Which characters in that mod can become temporary NPCs in your party and therefore have portraits that would be used in the game? I've found the following names . . . Akirakon (This is short for "Akirakon Sin", IIRC.) Channa (More on her in the next question.) Charlie (This might be "Verbal". It's been a long time since I've looked at this and I've never played the Solomon's Revenge version.) Kob (This is short for "Kobayashi", IIRC.) Malak (This is a past version of Malak before he turned, before he had his jaw damaged.) Mech (I think this is "Mec Han'ic", the Rodian captain of the ship in the version of the mod that I played a long, long time ago.) (2) It appears the Shadow/Sera Degana/Channa character seems to have more that one portrait. Could someone confirm more than one is used? Here's what I've found . . . http://imgur.com/lBC0RbV po_channa.txi http://imgur.com/030Bw7S po_channa2.txi http://imgur.com/7noaTAh po_channa2d.txi http://imgur.com/pSfTOZs po_channa3.txi (Was this used as a portrait? It looks more like a capture from the character alignment screen.) http://imgur.com/yiCQCME po_channa3b.txi If it is actually the case that all of these are used, at what point does she use each portrait? (3) What would be best backgrounds to use for these new portraits? Keep in mind that the backgrounds would have be able to support anywhere from 8 to 12 frames of animation. (4) Following up question (3): Can you provide saves that would position the player in front of those particular areas to be used as backgrounds to save me some time? (If your background is used, you get credited.) (5) Does any one have warp codes for the new areas exclusive to Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge? I have asked Quanon if he'll do the renders like he's done before my other packs. I hesitated to do so because I'm sure he'd much rather be working on his own projects and I don't want to more than a pain than I already am. (I haven't heard back from him yet.) However, if you would like to do the renders so you can match the characters as closely as possible to the angle and facial expression of the original portraits, that would good too! Leave a message here and I'll let you know what size I'd need the picture to be. You should probably wait until we have the other questions worked out first. Update: This is slightly off-topic but the reason I tend to lock my status updates is so people will comment where I direct them to. In this case, replying here in this blog - rather than on an update which could be off the main page in less than a day - works best for all of us.
  7. Actually the droids I'd be looking to replace wouldn't be the astromechs but the escort droids and war droids on M4-78 that use the Sith war droid model. Might be a bit tricky.
  8. Well I haven't done it before but I suppose there's a tutorial around here somewhere if I really feel the need. I just wonder if it covers how not to make the new droids cover all of one particular type? (Only one way to find out, I suppose.)
  9. Mod updated to correct the issue with Remote's TXI. (I had the darn thing set for 3 frames in the TXI when there are actually 4! Silly Holocron.)
  10. Mod updated to correct the issue with Remote's TXI. (I had the darn thing set for 3 frames in the TXI when there are actually 4! Silly Holocron.)
  11. I'd love to see some of these new droid designs in M4-78 EP but I've lost my avenue of suggestion when I removed the mod from the site. That'll have to be someone else that does that. Update: Apparently, I'm being too subtle. (That might be a first.) Replace the lined out portion above with "Because I removed their mods, they're not going to listen to me" and see if it makes more sense.
  12. I would suggest contacting her now. Having the permissions set would be necessary before uploading.
  13. There may be an issue of the TXI for the Remote portrait causing issues for some people. If you experience any problems while on Malachor, try removing that TXI from your Override, I will attempt to troubleshoot the issue at my earliest convenience. If anyone else has any suggestions on what may be causing the issue, I'm all ears!
  14. Seeing as this thread may have outlived it's usefulness, I'll probably be locking it up soon if there are no objections. If JC opens a WIP thread for discussion on his upcoming connected mod, that might be the best place to discuss that. So . . . any objections?
  15. Dark Hopa (previously known as Cache71) is a member here. Go to her profile page and send her a PM about your question.
  16. I think I am not the person that should be detailing the answer. I can only point you to the link in the first post.
  17. Curious about what I turned in and got turned down? It's your turn to listen to what I did. Obviously, some of these were created without the knowledge of how long the songs should be. As I've done these some time ago, I couldn't even say which song parts I used anymore! Anyway, here's my stuff:
  18. Can you cite any quotes from the game to back that up? Don't forget this part . . .

Here's another mod that sprung from other people's hard work. NPC PORTRAITS FOR KOTOR 1 =========================== MOD AUTHOR: Sith Holocron ORIGINAL RELEASE DATE: 03 JUN 2017 UPDATED RELEASE DATE: 23 JUN 2017 GAMES: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Notes: ------ This mod is not recommended for Knights of the Old Republic 2 for what should be obvious reasons. This mod is not recommended for first time players of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic - spoilers! This mod will overwrite portraits of the NPC characters that may be provided by other mods. Keep this in mind when installing this mod. Background: ------------------ I had this idea of asking folks to get high quality captures of the NPCs in 3DS MAX using poses similar to the ones in the traditional NPC portraits. I would then put a detailed background that indicated where we first met those characters. I then proceeded to ask around for folks willing to grab some of these for me. Thus the NPC PORTRAITS FOR TSL mod was born. This new mod - like the previous mod - redoes the portraits but this time, it's for the original KotOR. As none of the portraits in KotOR shift from LS to DS - or vice versa - they ALL now have animations in the backgrounds. I have NO plans to do other characters from mods such "Kay" from Recruitable Kay or "Shadow" from Brotherhood of Shadow. It's just the standard NPCs here. I'd love to see someone else tackle those characters though! Description: ----------------- Here is my explanation of why I chose these backgrounds. You can skip this part of the read-me if you like but I'm putting this in here so I don't have to have lengthy, boring discussions of why I placed who in front of where. (If I completely ignore you if you bring this up in the review thread, now you know why.) Carth - You first meet Carth on the Endar Spire so that's where I stuck him. I was considering using the Taris Hideout but that seemed to be a boring location. Bastila - Yeah, you meet her on Taris but as she's a Jedi, I decided to put her on Dantooine. Trust me, you don't want so many of the characters with drab Taris backgrounds. Canderous - You meet him on Taris in one of the nightclubs but it seemed to be a bit boring for a background. So I moved the action to Davik's Hangar, during Malak's bombardment. T3-M4 - The player meets "him" in Janice Nall's shop on Taris so that's "his" background. Mission - You first meet her in the Javyar's Cantina on Taris so that's her background. Zalbaar - I didn't want to reuse the same area for Big Z that Mission had, so I changed his background to Rwookrrorro Village on Kashyyyk. Jolee - I wanted Manaan to be in here somewhere and seeing as his friend is on trial, I picked that planet as his background. Juhani - She has the Dantooine Grove as her background as that's where you first meet her. HK-47 - You meet "him" in Yuka Laka's Droid Shop on Tatooine so that's "his" background. Trask - You didn't think I'd forget Trask, did you? He's only in one location - the Endar Spire - so that's where you'll see him in front of. Installation: ---------------- Read this portion carefully. For Trask, Carth Onasi, and Jolee skins: just grab all of of the TGA and TXI files, and then drop them into your Override folder. The T3-M4 folders have TWO different versions of HK-47's portraits - one portrait utilizing Darth_Sapien's skin, the other portrait using Quanon's skin. The Canderous folders have TWO different versions of his portraits - the model utilizing the original texture and a version using the texture created by Quanon. The HK-47 folders have THREE different versions of HK-47's portraits - the standard model with vanilla skin, the standard model with Quanon's skin, and the SWTOR model created by DarthParametric using Kainzorus Prime's skin. For Zaalbar: There are THREE different textures to choose from - the original, one created by Quanon, and one created by Corpsecotillion. For Mission: There are THREE different versions: the original game skin, a version by Dark Hope, and a version by Quanon. For Bastila: There are FOUR different versions: 2 versions by Quanon, a version by Dark Hope and Quanon, and the original game skin. For Juhani: There are TEN different textures to choose from. 7 Variants from "Juhani Catlike Head Mod", Shem's "Juhani New Look" Skin, Miro42's "Juhani Real Cathar Head", and her original skin. Look at the pictures in the release thread to determine which portrait type you wish to use. Copy the contents of that folder to your Override folder. Note the files that you put into your Override folder. Uninstall: ------------- Remove the files that you copied (and noted) from the Override folder. Very Special Thanks: ---------------------------- Quanon - For all of the head and body renders. Many of his skins were utilized as well; including Carth, Jolee, T3-M4, Mission, Zaalbar, and HK-47. RedRob41 - His "Juhani Catlike Head Mod" mod was essential for this project allowing for seven different variations of Juhani! Dark Hope (previously known as Cache71) - For her Mission Vao skin and for her work with Quanon on the their Bastila skin. Darth_Sapiens - For his HD T3-M4 skin. Darth Parametric - For his SWTOR HK model. Kainzorus Prime - For the skin for DP's model. Corpsecotillion - For his Zaalbar skin. miro42 - For his "Juhani Real Cathar Head" model change and skin. Jorak Uln - For the Taris planet texture seen in the Trask portrait and for most of the textures used in the background of the Jolee texture. Kexikus - For his high quality skybox skins, seen here in the following portraits: Jolee. Thunder3 - For the high quality skins in his Endar Spire Mod - seen in the Trask and Carth portraits. Shoelace - For the instructions on how to use XnView for Jorak Uln's Manaan mod. (Jorak Uln? Might I humbly suggest to update your instructions? Please?) djh269 - Beta-testing and for read-me proof-reading. N-DReW25 - Beta-testing on Android. (That's a new one for one of my mods.) If you have any issues with my mod, take it up with me and not with these fine contributors. (You can - of course - compliment them on their time, work, and graciousness.) Enjoy! I may decide to upload the mod to NexusMods at a later date but that will be my decision and mine alone. So there. It's even more cringe inducing. See you there!

  21. Might we have any mixes that actually utilize KOTOR2 music?
  22. I have my 2 beta testers now. Let's hope I didn't screw things up too much. ;)

  23. If you remove the video from installers, substitute the video with a silent version, or put in a new video, I can approve the mod again.
