    V1.0:
"I am proud to present the greatest recruitment mod to ever be made for the 2003 game of the year, Knights of the Old Republic. This mod is a year and half in the making and its finally here just in time for Christmas. So Merry Christmas everybody! Inyri Forges mod gets my vote as the best mod to ever be released in the year 2007. If there was a voting poll available, I would cast my ballot for this mod.
Im betting a lot of people that have been waiting patiently are excited that its finally here and probably arent taking the time to read the review because they already have decided they want this mod after seeing a teaser trailer or two and are hitting the download button as soon as they click the link to the mod; of course that means there are others who still arent in on this recruitment mod and wonder why Im calling it the best recruitment mod to ever be made and want to know if its worth downloading a 19.8 megabyte file. If you want to know why that is, just keep reading on and youll find out why its the best. Im going to *WARN* you that spoilers will be mentioned in this review so if you havent had the chance to play Knights of the Old Republic all the way through and dont want to be spoiled, then stop reading now or suffer the consequences!

Inyri Forge created a female character named Kay. She is a Jedi Sentinel that you find on the planet of Tatooine on a mission to investigate Czerka Corporation or at least that is what she will tell you. Remember the trio of Dark Jedi that confront you on Tatooine telling you that Lord Malak was most displeased that your PC left Taris alive? Right after that event you will see a female Jedi walking towards you with a golden lightsaber hilt (made by the author too) that will emit a yellow blade when activated. You will also notice her brown hair, blue eyes, and a red Jedi robe (assuming there isnt a mod changing its look in your override folder) as shown in the screenshot. Go and talk to her so shell join your party in your quest to find the Star Forge.

There are many reasons why this character is special. She has audio dialogue which is provided by Inyri Forge herself. All the other recruitment mods have mute dialogue, so this part alone sets this recruitment mod leaps and bounds above any other recruitment mod out there. You can also have conversations with her as you level up and eventually you will trigger a side quest that starts on Tatooine. You will have to talk to Kay at least five times before her side quest starts. So talk to her as soon as she joins you and wait till you have to level up to talk to her again and do that five times and her quest will be ready to start. When the quest is ready to start, go back to Dantooine and talk to the Jedi near the Ebon Hawk. After you start the quest, youll have to go back to the Dantooine where the Mandalorian there will finally talk to you and eventually have to go to Manaan to get something, and back to Dantooine to return an item to complete the quest to the female Twilek Jedi in the training room. It is best to play your game when leaving Dantooine by going to Tatooine, then Kashyyyk, then Manaan, and Korriban last while finding the Star Maps in order to have time to complete Kays quest and pretty much get the most out of this mod because if you need to do it before you get captured by the Leviathan.

There are three other new characters with recorded audio just like Kay. One of the new voiced characters is a Jedi on Dantooine which you will see as you get off the Ebon Hawk. You cant miss him. The other two are Mandalorians. One of the Mandalorians is on Tatooine and the other is on Manaan. The Mandalorian on Tatooine can be found near the exit out of Anchorhead on the far left side. Hell be wearing the blue Mandalorian colored armor. The Mandalorian on Manaan that you will speak to wears red colored Mandalorian armor and can be found at the end of the module which is near where the Sith Shuttle is that can get you into the Sith Base.

For those who are familiar with how the game engine on Knights of the Old Republic works, you will know that if you add a recruit to your party, you will have to replace another party member. In the case of this recruitment mod the ousted party member is Juhani. Because Juhani is out and you never had the heart to kill her in your duel with her on Dantooine, or you wanted extra Jedi help from your party; now is the time to do it since shes not going to be in your group. Well, thats not entirely true since she will join your group still if you spare her and help will your PC out until you recruit Kay on Tatooine and that is when Kay will override Juhani and shell be out for the rest of the game.

Theres a specific reason why Juhani was chosen to be replaced. There are two party members you can complete the game with that arent necessary for the storyline and that is Juhani and HK-47. These two are optional party members while the rest of them will join you no matter what. Its easy to pick Juhani because she is the less popular of the two party members and youre replacing one female Jedi with another. It was also the easiest way to go for the author to do so that is why she was chosen.

Since it is Juhani that is replaced, the author did a lot of work in replacing situations where Juhani would chime in on certain events and has Kay speak instead. I believe this was the most time consuming part of constructing this mod. This adds a dimension that recruitment mods have never had before because recruitment mods in the past would have the party member you replace speak their dialogue instead of the new recruit and you get audio from Kay to make her seem alive which makes this really special.

Again since Juhani is replaced, Kay will go with Revan into the Rakatan Temple with Jolee. This means there is that confrontation on top of the temple with Bastila and Kay will have a role in it. Revans choice to stay on the light path or go to the dark side will have an effect on Kays fate. Kay also has a reaction to your PC being Revan so play with this mod to find out what she thinks of the whole thing.

I feel I should give you all a word of warning about this mod that you should know. Just because Kay is recruited on Tatooine doesnt mean its best to find a saved game where you havent been to Tatooine yet. Yes, you can recruit her that way, but you will not be able to complete the side quest that comes with her character because two new Jedi need to spawn on Dantooine and in order for those Jedi to show up, you must have a saved game where you never have been on Dantooine before. This would mean you must have a saved game that is on Taris in order for you get the full effect of this mod. As mentioned earlier that one of the Jedi you can find on Dantooine can be seen as you exit the Ebon Hawk who is a voiced character. There is a female Twilek Jedi in the training room where the workbench is that uses the Huttese language that is provided by the BioWare.

So lets do a short review about what you will get just in case I lost you:

    - A new recruit who has audio dialogue
    - She is an in depth character
    - She has a side quest that spans three planets
    - She has her own custom head
    - She has her own custom lightsaber hilt

To prevent crying among the community, the author uses the TSL Patcher to install the mod. So just sit back and let the Patcher do its job and get ready to play your game. Enjoy this wonderful recruitment mod.

Here is the trailer to this mod in case that helps instead of reading through my lengthy review.

    V1.1:
"Recruitable Kay has been an instant success since it made its public debut on Christmas Eve 2007. The download counts keep climbing higher and higher at an incredible rate as each day passes. As like most large mods that have been released in the past, there are some bugs that come with it. To me its not about the amount of bugs your mod gets in a situation like this; its how the author of the mod responds to it. Inyri Forge is one of those people who care enough about her work and your enjoyment that she will fix anything that needs to be fixing. Some authors choose not to care about it, so props to Inyri for her diligence.
The biggest issue with this recruitment mod is that amount of dialogue files that will use Juhanis audio; a game like Knights of the Old Republic has so many dialogue choices that it depends on someones playing style to encounter certain situations that other people wouldnt think of. This mod mostly will patch up areas of where Juhanis audio will speak instead of Kay.

There are other little fixes included in this mod as some of the broken dialogue files have been fixed that have stopped some of the plot quests to be completed. Inyri has also recorded new audio for Kay to add or help replace some of the dialogue replacements for Juhani.

The TSL Patcher will install this patch. Make sure you go over Inyris readme file or youll regret it. Ive noticed that many people didnt heed my warning from my last review and were complaining about things that wouldnt have been an issue if they had just took the time to read the instructions. Lets see who is patient and who isnt. Enjoy the patch!

    V1.1a:
"Its been a while since Inyri Forges Recruitable Kay hit the public, hasnt it? That mod made it to the public on Christmas Eve last year and was a very successful mod. Unfortunately like every huge mod ever made in the history of Knights of the Old Republic modding, there were bugs that needed to be addressed that werent taken care of in the original release.
Inyri even released a patch on January 29, of this year that addressed many different issues. This is what shes calling a Hot Fix in this release. It just fixes two bugs. One was the new female Twilek Jedi that was spawned on Dantooine and the other is with the female Czerka officer on Tatooine that gives you the hunting license so you can leave the city of Anchorhead; both of the fixes are dialogue files.

What specific parts these fixes do is beyond me since Inyri didnt explain specifically what is fixed about the two new files and right now I dont have the mod installed so I have no clue what the trouble was there. If you were experience trouble with those two parts, then download this fix; if not, then dont worry about it.

    Sound Patch:
"For the second time (or third depending on how you look at it) this week, Inyri Forge is back with a new mod. This one is actually a little bit of an update to her massively popular Recruitable Kay mod, which she released in 2007.
While this update doesn't add any new content to the mod, it does update the voice overs, using higher quality mp3's than the originals. This increased quality should be a very welcome to anyone who has already played the mod, pretty much giving them an excuse to play it again.

When installing this mod, you should let it overwrite ALL the mp3 files and use the NEW localization.mod file, else the lipsynching won't match up to the VO's, which will look a bit strange.

To use this file, you will also need the original mod, the patch and the hotfix, which can be found at the links below:

  2. Male Head Pack by Inyri Forge

Uploaded by permission of the author.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"One of the most popular things to mod on this site is changing head selections. Most of the time authors make new skins and have them replace an existing default head. There are even times when two different authors make two different skins and both replace the same head. That's frustrating because you want both options installed in your override folder, yet it's not going to happen unless you know how to do some fancy editing.

Inyri Forge brings us a mod that gives you 10 new head selections that do not replace any of the current default heads in the first Knights of the Old Republic game. Most of the head skins are from past releases that replaced other heads. This is not the case being that this release will make all those new head skins available as separate heads. They even all have their own portraits.

There's a bonus head in this one that hasn't been released by the author. It's a Chiss head skin. The cool part about this head is that the Chiss will have blue arms and legs while in his underwear. The Darth Maul head will have black arms and legs to match the head color. The author's horn pack is included in this release since there is two Zabrak heads in this mod.

The TSL Patcher will install this mod since there are many .2da files that are involved to make this mod happen, the TSL Patcher will make it all compatible with any possible mods youre using in your personal override folder that have .2da files involved. Enjoy the heads!

    Installation Instructions:
This mod uses the TSLPatcher for installation. Run TSLPatcher.exe and follow the instructions provided.

    Description:
This head pack contains 10 heads -- 9 I have previously released and 1 new head -- and adds all 10 heads to the head selection menu without overwriting any default heads. This pack also includes 3 non-human heads (2 Zabrak heads + horn masks and 1 Chiss head... because apparently everybody loves Chiss).

    Comments:
This mod has, by far, the most complicated TSLPatcher setup I've ever done, and my fingers hurt from copy-pasting. But without the patcher this mod would've been grossly incompatible with so many others... so I still wub it. <3

The included horns are exactly the same as the ones released with my Darth Maul head. Since that head is included, as well as my other Zabrak head, I included the horns as well. Here are the stats for the stuff:

    Horns:
    +2 regeneration

Also the spawn names for the items are as follows:

    HORN SET 1: giveitem zhorns
    HORN SET 2: giveitem zhorns2
    HORN SET 3: giveitem zhorns3
    DARTH MAUL'S HORNS: giveitem zhorns4

You will need to cheat or use KotOR Savegame Editor (KSE) to get these items for the following reasons. Firstly, they're canonically impossible to find because they won't exist for thousands of years, and so would be out of place if I placed them somewhere within the story. Secondly... I don't think you should be randomly finding someone's lost set of horns out in a lockbox somewhere. That's only a *little* morbid and disgusting to think about.

    Bugs:
None, I hope. The horns actually seem to be positioned right on most of the models. Naturally they'll look a bit out of place on models with hair. I don't really think that's a bug though.

  3. Female Mandalorians by Inyri Forge

Uploaded by permission of the author.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"Mandalorians were an interesting type of people. They liked to wear full body armor and live for battle to gain honor in the eyes of their fellow brethren. What's interesting is if you're a female player character and some Mandalorian tells you that you would have been a good one too. What's funny is that you never saw female Mandalorians in Knights of the Old Republic. Enter Inyri Forge! stick out tongue

Inyri is back to give us what the first Knights of the Old Republic (and the second, but this isn't for that game) lacked and that is female Mandalorians. Hey, even the males need some loving; plus they need sons and daughters to carry out Mandalorian traditions. Inyri took the male model and made some changes to it to give you the female version.

The most noticeable feature right away is the breasts. I'm betting that is what most everybody will notice first when seeing the screenshots whether or not they choose to admit it. stick out tongue There are some other details you can notice is the more slender body and some female shaping traits that you really have to look to notice. Some masculine traits have been left behind, but as the author has stated herself that she did that on purpose because if a female had to wear that armor all the time, they're going to be very strong and have some good sized muscles.

The only place where you will see some female Mandalorians in the game from what I can see is Dantooine if you look at the names of the UTC files the author has edited. The author even customized a sound set for them so they will sound female when attacking you.

The TSL Patcher is used to install this mod to make some very necessary compatibility changes for your game. You will need a saved game before going out on the Dantooine plains for these changes to take effect. Make sure you read the instructions in the readme file. Enjoy the mod! big grin

    -Shem"

    Introduction:
Mandalorians -- or neo-crusaders as they're popularly known as in this particular game -- are one of the staples of Star Wars lore. Whenever you want to find a 'cool' villain, it's always a Mandalorian... unless it's a dark Jedi, but that's another story. It's rarely pointed out that most of the non-human enemies/NPCs in the game -- Mandalorians, Bith, Ithorians, Rodians -- are all male! Only a few lucky groups get females, the Tusken Raiders and Wookiees first coming to mind. But of course we all know that if Mandalorians want their legacy to go on there must be women somewhere! So someone said "hey, how about a female Mandalorian?" So I did it.

    Description:
This mod, to be very straightforward, adds female Mandalorians to the game. This is an edit of the original Mandalorian model using Taina's Replacer, so I did my best to feminize the model. It still has a few masculine traits which I did not 'soften up' purposely (even female warriors would be tough as nails... plus Mandalorian gear is heavy armor!). On the whole the model is slimmer and less masculine, although obviously still fit and ready for a fight. It also uses a customized sound set (a mix of default soundsets with a filter over the audio to make it sound like the male Mandalorian).

For kicks I also changed a few of the UTCs on Dantooine to now display the female Mandalorian instead of the male, in case you wanted to see it without using the savegame editor. I'm hoping beyond hope that none of the ones I change ever have anything to say... In any case I've also included an unused UTC (n_mandalorianf.utc) kind of as a modder's resource in case someone wants to put these in a custom are for whatever reason.

    Installation:
This mod uses the TSLPatcher for easy installation. Simply extract the contents of the compressed archive to anywhere on your hard drive, then double click "TSLPatcher.exe" to run the installation. Do not try to install by hand -- it won't work.

  4. KotOR Repulsor Shields

    Original Review on Filefront:

"My my my, this is a unique mod we have today. Inyri gets definite kudos for thinking outside the box with it.

In a time period where swords were brought back, why aren't there any shields? Pretty much every Sith or Republic trooper you runs into has a vibroblade on him, one would definitely come in handy.

Well, now there are, and you'll get to use three different kinds of them. Stat-wise they're all useful, providing 15% resistance against melee damage and a +3 to defense. There's also some various attribute and Force-related bonuses that differ depending on the shield, but overall they're all about equally powerful so you can choose which one to use over simply aesthetics if you'd like.

These items can also be found in-game on various planets, so now you won't have an excuse to cheat these onto your character while you're still on the Endar Spire. Remember to run the TSLPatcher once you've downloaded this, and enjoy!

  5. The Real Vibroblade by Inyri Forge

Uploaded by permission of the author.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"Yes, it's exactly as the title says. Aren't mods that make things more in-keeping with the EU lore nice to have?

This specific mod addresses the inaccuracy on BioWare's part regarding the game's vibroblades/swords. Precisely, that the so-called vibroblades were swords in their own right! They were shorter than the swords, yes, but they were far from the knife-sized blade they're made out to be in the EU.

Anyways, Inyri's latest mod remodels the game's deceptively-named vibroblades into something much smaller. Despite the decrease in size they're still just as deadly and do just as much damage; the difference is entirely cosmetic. (And it's not exactly unrealistic, either - in SW all vibroweapons have ultrasonic generators that cause them to vibrate at incredible speeds, so getting stabbed by one would in most cases be lethal regardless of the size.)

The mod is primarily for K1 (that's the game the TSLPatcher installs it for), but if you want to keep things consistent in the series it can be make to work for K2 as well by tweaking baseitems.2da. Might we be a wee bit prejudiced in our attitude towards the 2003 game of the year's sequel, Inyri? stick out tongue

Note: Please remember to give the author of the mod feedback, as the download count isn't particularly verbose. Written comments tend to be much more useful and encouraging.

    Uninstall Instructions:
Remove the above named files from your override folder.

    Description:
Vibroblades historically were short knives that used ultrasonic generators to cause the blade to vibrate, allowing it to be more destructive. That is... until KotOR came along. According to KotOR, there's nothing but an aesthetic difference between vibroBLADES and vibroSWORDS. A bit silly, yes? I've been meaning to correct this issue for a while, so here it is. Vibroblades are now short, knife-size, and are wielded like stun batons. These are simply model overwrites (and a small 2DA change to alter the way vibroblades behave) so the change will be applied to all existing vibroblades (as well as any other custom-content vibroblades that do not use new models).

    Bugs:
More a warning than a bug, but if you're using a mod that adds a custom model vibroblade to the game, it may look a bit silly being wielded as a stun baton.

  6. Melee Pack by Inyri Forge

Uploaded by permission of the author.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"In all of my time modding I have never seen a weapon pack quite like this one. This item pack was made by InyriForge our resident Network Admin and I have to say that she has done an awesome job with these. This pack will add 8 new melee weapons into the game of which two you might already have. These swords include some of the coolest melee weapons I have ever seen in kotor; perfectly model, hard hitting, and above all deadly weapons that can take down even the biggest of foes. Now personally I usually don't use melee weapons in the game unless I have to because I love using lightsabers but I can make an exception for this because they just look so awesome and are infact awesome!

The two main weapons that you will definatly want and that you will definatly noticed in the game are the "Sword of War" and "Sword of Justice" which are actually a stand alone mod but I would much rather more weapons then just one or two. I really do have to say that these are some really cool weapons and you will be able to notice that throughout your experince with them. Great job Inyri I think these are awesome and you have my download! Now to all you people who are reading this review...Enjoy!

    Uninstall Instructions:
Remove files from your override folder.

    Description:
Model of the (somewhat) well-known Kit Rae swords "Sword of War" and "Sword of Justice" from the ancients series. I have given them my own Star Wars spin, linking one to the Light Side and the other to the Dark Side. They are not upgradable, but they do have some decent stats. The Sword of Justice is probably more useful, as it has bonus damage to dark siders.

Sword of Justice is light side only.
Sword of War is dark side only.
    All other weapons are upgradable.

    How To Spawn:
Press ~ (`) and type in, without the quotes:

    For shortsword: "giveitem shortsword_if"
    For executioner's axe: "giveitem execaxe"
    For mace: "giveitem mace_if"
For Sword of War: "giveitem sow"
For Sword of Justice: "giveitem soj"
For Sword of Vaelan: "giveitem sov"
For Sword of Neverwinter: "giveitem son"
    For Katana: "giveitem katana"

    Notes:
Two of these swords are from a previous mod of mine (Swords of War and Justice) and have been included unaltered, for convenience. If you are prompted to overwrite, you can go ahead (the icons are cleaned up slightly, if that counts as a change). The Katana included is from another mod submitted over one year ago. It can be considered a V2 as it has been fixed slightly.

  7. Mabari Armorweave

    Original Review on Filefront:

"This is a mod that gives a new skin/armor that looks like Zam Wessel's from AotC and her helmet as a new model. The armor looks like how I remember it, and the metal even has a shine to it! The helmet is modeled and used like a mask, which inheritinaly has clipping problems, yet Inyri has managed to make it so it's not too noticable unless you have really big hair. Personally, I think this is a good reskin/new model, and should make Zam fans happy. To use in-game, type in giveitem mabari for the armor and giveitem mabari_helmet into the console. One last note: The helmet does work with KotOR I, so if you don't have II yet, you can use that part of the mod. Just don't use the armor as the skin needs a specific model in II, so the armor makes I crash.

  8. Bearded PMHC01 Head Replacement

    Installation Instructions
First, select whether you plan to install the FULL BEARD or GOATEE. You can only install ONE of these mods. Once selected, copy the following folders into the override folder in your SWKOTOR directory.

    PMHC01.tga
    PMHC01d.tga
    PMHC01d1.tga
    PMHC01d2.tga
    PMHC01d3.tga]
    po_pmhc1.tga
    po_pmhc1d.tga
    po_pmhc1d1.tga
    po_pmhc1d2.tga
    po_pmhc1d3.tga

Each head option features normal KotOR dark side transitions with Sith Eyes (yellow with red rings). If you prefer dark side transitions that feature Sith Eyes only and no change to the skin tone copy the files from Alternate Darkside in your selected head and overwrite these files in your override folder.

To uninstall, remove the above files from your override folder.

    Description
I almost always play with the first male caucasian head when I play Knights of the Old Republic however I prefer my gentleman a little scruffy. Years ago I created a similar reskin that became very popular and I decided it was time to rehash the same ol' same ol' with some more advanced texturing skills.

This mod will add either a goatee or a full beard to this particular head. The two versions are mutually exclusive so you can only select one at the moment. This mod will also be incompatible with any other mod that replaces the files above.

Well this launcher is pretty much the best I have seen so far, it has custom sounds and everything! Even custom background music. But to really appreciate the work that went into this mod, you have to know the way in which it was developed. Inyri being her amazing self, put the models from kotor into Max, RIGGED them and then had them do these amazing, dramatic poses. That with the mixture of the background and buttons, this launcher deserves a straight up 10/10. What with all the effort put in and the excellent end result. I applaud you Inyri Forge. Excellent Launcher!

    Description

    It's a launcher, using custom-posed KotOR models.

I was going for something simple, here. Kind of a dark, ominous feeling lancher that was simple enough that it wouldn't draw unnecessary attention to keep you from playing the game (which is why you bought it). To me it gives the feel of Carth (representing your party) looking over his shoulder to see Bandon (representing the Sith). Kind of like that ongoing battle between good and evil; the darkness stalking the light. Anyway, that's my one deep philosophical thought for the week. Thanks for coming! See you next week.

    Installation Instructions

First of all, backup your entire launcher folder. The easiest way to do this is to make a new folder within the launcher folder called "backup" or something similar, and copy all the files from the launcher folder into it.

Next, put all the contents of the launcher folder in this zip into your SWKotOR/launcher directory, or simply place the folder in your SWKotOR directory (this will have the same effect). This will overwrite what is already there, which is why I suggest you backup first.

  10. M-6 Carnifex Hand Cannon Replacement

Uploaded by permission of the author.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"Inyri is back with another Mass Effect 2 weapon for KotOR, this time a blaster based on the M-6 Carnifex Hand Cannon from the game. It replaces the default blaster pistol in the game, as part of a series of mods adding Mass Effect weapon models to the KotOR games. The weapon therefore has the same stats as the default blaster pistol. The mod is therefore incompatible with other mods which replace the blaster pistol in the game. It is, however, highly compatible with custom blaster mods which do not replace existing weapon, and will also be used by some enemies in the game.

To describe this mod as "well-made" seems a bit inadequate, given the obvious high quality of the work, consistent with Inyri's high standards. The texture, too, is both accurate and detailed, showing a refreshing, worn look. In short, this model is not only an accurate rendition of a weapon from Mass Effect 2, but an excellent piece of modelling and skinning in its own right. If you're looking for a blaster pistol replacement, this is definitely one to look at.

  11. WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistol by Inyri Forge

Uploaded by permission of the author.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"When Jango Fett was introduced in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, we were able to learn more of the origins of the Fett family. The biggest news was that Boba Fett was a clone of Jango. The neat thing about Jango is his armor was a lot newer and cooler looking than Boba's was. One of Jango's most popular weapons that really looks cool was his WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistol.

Inyri Forge, a fan of Jango Fett and his blaster decided to release the weapon model for all of us to use in the first Knights of the Old Republic game. Not only do you get the awesome model to play with, but the blaster itself will be a powerful weapon to use. The energy damage will be 3-12, with a dexterity bonus of +2 and an attack bonus of +3.

More power (I can hear Tim 'The Tool Man' Taylor echoing those words) can be added to the blaster with the upgrades you can add to it. When fully upgraded, you get 2-6 ion damage, 3-3 cold damage, on hit properties attribute damage DC 22, and 3-3 fire damage. There is a catch and that is whoever you want to use this pistol and that is you must select the weapon focus blaster pistol feat in order to be able to use it. Carth Onasi comes with the feat.

Since Jango's weapon isn't really part of game play, the author didn't feel you can just add the weapon at any given point so you will have to use the cheats to get this pistol. Since it's a one handed weapon, why not spawn two and use them as dual blasters for double the trouble for your enemies. stick out tongue Information how to spawn them is in the readme file. Enjoy the blasters!

I'm not a big fan of the prequel films, but Jango Fett has a special place in my heart. I also really like the design of his blasters, which is one reason I modeled them (typically I don't like making guns). Just keep in mind that these are high-quality pistols. You'll have to be some kind of pistoleer to use them (rough translation: you need Weapon Focus for pistols).

    Comments:
Obviously since these blaster pistols wouldn't have existed in the Old Republic era I have not placed them in-game anywhere. You can get them by using 'giveitem westarpistol' in the console.

  12. M-98 Widow Replacement

Uploaded by permission of the author.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"Inyri's run of Mass Effect 2 weapon replicas for the KotOR games continues with a duplicate of the M-98 Widow weapon. The model replaces that of the "Sith Snipe Rifle" in the game, which can be bought from Kebla Yurt, in the Upper City, on Taris. The mod is a straightforward model replacement, and as such should be compatible with most mods, with the exception of those that affect the "Sith sniper rifle" weapon model.

The mod is produced with Inyri's usual, high level of polish and execution, with both model an texture of exemplary quality. As can be seen in the screenshots, this mod replicates the appearence of the original weapon with a high degree of accuracy. The ease of acquiring the weapon in the game is similarly welcome. In all, this is a masterclass in mod-making, as well as a remarkably fine piece of modelling and texturing. Ultimately, whether or not to download is a matter of taste, but it's hard to deny that this weapon looks fantastic.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"Inyri brings us the TSL version of her model based on the Mass Effect 2 M-6 Carnifex Hand Cannon for KotOR I, which was uploaded earlier this week. Since the mod is chiefly the same as the KotOR I version (except for KotOR II, obviously ), here is the review of the K1 version:

N.B.: The mod replaces the same weapon model in this game as its KotOR 1 counterpart does, although du to the different organisational conventions in KotOR II, the item's .uti file is titled "w_blaste_06", and this is the giveitem code that should be put in if you want to get hold of the weapon without waiting for it to turn up in the game on its own.

    Description
This is a custom model of the N7 Valiant sniper rifle from Mass Effect 3, which was originally released with the Collector's Edition of the game and then later added to multiplayer for everyone as a possible reward for the game's weekend operations.

This gun took an extensive amount of modeling and, more importantly, texture work to complete. Construction began on June 12th 2012 and completed on February 7th 2013 for an insane build time of almost 7 months. I am easily distracted, which is the only reason it took this long. Probably because I've clocked over 400 hours in ME3 multiplayer...

This mod will replace the 2nd blaster carbine model, which corresponds to the Sith Assault Gun. The choice was made to overwrite an existing gun to maximize compatibility, however with a little elbow grease you can add this as a custom gun that you can add to your inventory with whatever crazy stats you'd like. This gun includes a TXI file to make bits of the gun shine at different angles. This is used minimally to emphasize the gun's battle damage.

  16. Bryar Pistol and Bryar Rifle by Inyri Forge

Uploaded by permission of the author.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"Let's go back in time to 1997 when a hit game came out for our PC called Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. Sound familiar? Maybe the game was before your time, but there was this character named Kyle Katarn who learned the ways of the Force and became a Jedi and ended up defeating seven different Dark Jedi to help protect the Valley of the Jedi from falling into Jerecs hands. Well, during that game you can see Kyle use a specific blaster called the Bryar Pistol.

Recently Inyri Forge and I were having one of our chats on MSN and she asked for an idea of what blaster she should model for the first Knights of the Old Republic game. I suggested the Bryar Pistol because I remembered her love for the Dark Forces II game and the character Kyle Katarn played in it and I had this feeling this was a blaster she wouldnt have been able to resist making.

As Inyri went to get references to help model the blaster, she learned some interesting information about it. The Bryar Pistol was a sawed off blaster rifle by Morgan Katarn to give to his son before entering the academy. Because of this discovery, the author decided to not only make the pistol, but the rifle too; so this mod comes with two weapons.

Information about how what types of damage these blasters do and how to get your hands on them is in the readme file. The TSL Patcher does install this mod for easy installation. Enjoy the new blasters! big grin

    Installation Instructions:
Copy the contents of the ZIP archive to your computer, then run TSLPatcher.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Description:
Those who have played Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight should recognize this weapon. The bryar pistol, which originated from the bryar rifle, was Kyle Katarn's side arm of choice, which he used even after becoming a Jedi Knight. It featured increased accuracy with a light weight, making it both usable and popular. Both the pistol and the rifle have the same stats, which are listed below:

    Gun Stats:
    5-15 damage
    3 attack bonus
2d6 energy damage to droids (scope)
    DC 22 stun, 50% 2 rounds (scope)
2d6 electrical damage (improved energy cell)
    1d6 energy damage (beam splitter)
    2 attack bonus (beam splitter)
    2d6 sonic damage (hair trigger)

    Locations:
Both can be purchased from Kebla Yurt on Taris for 1000 credits each.

    Bugs:
Some minor hand clipping due to the bulkiness of the weapon. Mostly unnoticeable.

    Comments:
If you're either too poor to purchase them early in the game, or want two of the pistol, or whatever, you can use the following cheats to spawn the weapons in your inventory:

  17. Scatter Pistol by Inyri Forge

    Original KotORFiles review:
"Don't you love blasters? Instead of shooting bullets, it's lasers. That's what you get when using a gun Star Wars style which applies in the Knights of the Old Republic era. What's great is that they don't have to be reloaded, just have enough power to shoot. stick out tongue

Inyri Forge is back with another gun model to play with. Actually, this was a request from a blaster model she made a long time ago for Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. The request was to put it in the first Knights of the Old Republic game and since the author has it currently installed, it was easy to convert and test it out real quick.

This model is based off of the game Star Wars Galaxies. Two years ago, my brother got me this game for my birthday, but I was against paying money every month just to play it, so I never did and it is now collecting dust on my shelves. Anyway, Inyri Forge played it and loved this blaster model and decided to make one for Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords two years ago and now it's finally available for the first Knights of the Old Republic game.

The pistol is worth nothing so spawning it and selling it won't work. It's fully upgradable and each upgrade gives you 1-6 energy damage. It also comes with a +3 enhancement bonus. If you want to get this blaster, you will need to use the cheat console. Just follow the instructions in the readme file. Enjoy the blaster! big grin

  18. Purgatory Saber Hilt

    Original Review on Filefront:

"Today marks a special day in the modding future of our site at FileFront. It also marks a specific debut of our fellow admin, Inyri Forge. This debut is her first lightsaber hilt model and she made it for the original Knights of the Old Republic game. It's basically a test hilt to learn how to make hilts work in the KOTOR games. To top it off, it's a fine looking hilt.

This particular design is made for Sith Lords from my point of view. The author calls it the Purgatory hilt. Naturally since it is a Sith design hilt, the author made the blade color red. Since it's a Sith style hilt, the author made it available through game place by being able to get it at the Tomb of Naga Sadow. This particular tomb is where you go and complete your Sith Trials which leads to saber duels with either Yuthura Ban or Uthar Wynn, or both. Most recall when you get the Star Map, there is a Sith Lightsaber in the statue. With the author's mod, you get her new Sith style hilt there too for now a grand total of two lightsabers during that quest, one being the author's new hilt.

If you are dying to get that hilt earlier in the game, just have your cheats activated and type giveitem g_w_lghtsbr78. Enjoy the new hilt. Since this is a test lightsaber hilt to see if it can work, the mod style is simple which means it's not upgradeable, but it does have nice bonuses. It gives you all the two-handed weapon feats so your PC will be a master with using two weapons at the same time, +5 to blaster bolt deflection, 1-6 energy damage, and a chance to paralyze your opponent for three rounds of combat. Enjoy the new hilt.

Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"Just a note: My 600th file review here!

So what is missing in the Star Wars Universe? Let me be more specific. What is missing when traveling in the galaxy? How about when you visit a planet that has a very bright sun or suns when visiting say Tatooine? Something to wear that helps shade those eyes from those bright suns. Hey, Tatooine is a planet you get to visit in Knights of the Old Republic and guess what? This mod I'm going to talk about is for the 2003 game of the year, Knights of the Old Republic.

Inyri Forge is back with a Sun Glasses mod for Knights of the Old Republic. She released one way back in 2005 when KotorFiles was new for Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Besides looking cool, this is something that can could in handy if you think in terms that you will visit places with a bright sun shining on you at times. At least you can pretend that's an issue, right? Then there is Kashyyyk where it's always dark when you're there, so that would be a good time to take those babies off or leave them on to look cool infront of the Wookiee who thinks he's all that in Chuundar.

In this version the author shaped the glasses different than her previous release and she made five different variants of them. That's a good way to make different party members have different styles while keeping their eyes protected when searching for Star Maps.

Just in case you were all wondering in the author's readme about it possibly working in Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords; it doesn't. I tested it and it crashed my game. However if you need to see for yourselves in case you don't believe me; happy crashing!

Most of the glasses have the same stats. The first sun glasses are different than the other four. You'll have to check it out if you want to know what they are. These items can't be acquired through normal game play so you will need to use the cheat console to get them. The information you need to know is in the readme file. Enjoy looking cool!

  20. Emerald Blade

    Original Review on Filefront:

"Inyri is back with another Guild Wars weapon! This time it is the Emerald Sword, which is both a sword and emeraldy (which must come as a shock, given the name... ) It is also, equally shockingly, based upon a weapon in Guild Wars.

As can be seen, the model is more than up to Inyri's high standard and excellently detailed, while the texturing is superb, managing to combine metallic appearance with that of crystal very effectively. It's closeness to the original design is clear and, indeed, most accurate, as always. The stats of the weapon, too, are balanced and fair, while also making it worthwhile to use. It hasn't been spawned anywhere in the game by the author, since it's a fantasy weapon, and rather inappropriate for the setting and aesthetic of the game.

That said, the large guard does make the blade seem rather short, all things considered, and the weapon looks rather silly when paired with the author's Deldrimor Sword, also from Guild Wars. That said, these quibbles are, strictly speaking, the fault of the designer and not the modeller in the first instance, and in the second because the two weapons weren't designed to go together, but a review that doesn't have a down-side wouldn't really be balanced.

NB: Please leave constructive criticism, particularly if you download and use this mod, as the download-counter isn't very informative.

  21. Ryyk Blade (1.1)

    Original Review on Filefront:

"Wookiees have been a favorite among species in the Star Wars universe ever since Chewbacca was introduced in 1977. Zaalbar; who also is a Wookiee is a main party member in the first Knights of the Old Republic game. Once you learn more about Zaalbar and his family history, you learn that he has a brother who is Chieftain on the planet of Kashyyyk.

Inyri Forge is back with an update to use Ryyk blade mod. What this mod does is give both Zaalbar and Chuundar Ryyk blades to fight with. Zaalbars is in a footlocker just outside of where you rescue him in the Taris Sewers, while Chuundar has his and he doesnt plan on giving it up, so youll just have to do things the hard way if you want his blade. Of course you can cheat to get these blades by using the cheat console.

    giveitem g_w_cryyk (Chuundars)
    giveitem g_w_zryyk (Zaalbars)

This mod uses the TSL Patcher for easy installation and file merging with the baseitems.2da file. This file is the same as the original, but just has an installer update. For those who had problems with that in the past from the original release, this will fix that for you. Enjoy the update!

Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.

  22. Sith Special Forces Armor

    Original Review on Filefront:

"Inyri Forge is on a roll. She continues to send us her brilliant mods that she works hard at making. This time she has made a new soldier uniform skin as a separate piece of clothing. Yes, its restricted to soldiers for those who are bummed out that it isnt for Scoundrels and Scouts. But to make more sense of it, this mod only has full affect with the soldier class since it will only change the look of the soldier class. If you were going to wear this with anybody else (like Carth, and Canderous who are soldiers), the appearance would go to their default clothing look. I must say this is a much, much better looking soldier uniform skin than the default. Im very impressed and will be using this skin myself.

The stats and instructions to use this mod are in the readme. Trust me this is well worth the download. Keep on modding for us, Inyri Forge.

  23. Tatooine Spice Dealer

Uploaded by permission of the author.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"Aren't drug mods popular of late. This time InyriForge makes her first KotOR debut in a while by turning Tatooine's worst pazaak player into a dealer of them. Gotta give him Kudos for finding another way to make credits. (Oh look, I made a pun )

The drug/spice effects are amusingly realistic (reminds me of how anorexia was included in Dungeons & Dragons). After taking them your PC will have his/her high and receive a bonus to their stats according to the drug, but not without a price. After that high s/he'll crash and burn in the form of taking those bonuses as penalties for a short while, so be sure not to snort any of these drugs before every fight.

Since this mod uses the TSLPatcher, remember to run the installer instead of putting the files into override. Enjoy!

Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.

    Installation Instructions:
Run Install.exe from the Spice_IF folder (you can copy this folder anywhere on your hard drive). If you have a clean override folder and do not want to mess with the installer, just copy all contents of the tslpatchdata folder into your override folder. Using the installer is only necessary if you have an existing spells.2da file which needs to be patched. Please do not patch this file by hand! If you patch spells.2da by hand and do not update the UTI files, the mod will not work!

    Description:
Spice has always been an integral part of the criminal society of the galaxy. Where would the big-name criminals be now if they hadn't dabbled in a little spice trade to get them started? Well, Kudos, our friendly neighborhood Tatooine pazaak player is also aiming for the big leagues. If you dare to ask him, he'll dare to sell you a bit of spice... for a nominal fee. The better the spice, the more expensive it is! And remember, if a bargain seems too good to be true... it probably is.
    Spice Information:
Drugs are not free, nor are they good for you. They provide a temporary high... but in the end, they'll do you more harm than good. This mod includes 17 varieties of spice, each with varying prices based on their stat benefits. Each lasts from 3 to 5 minutes, but eventually results in a 20 to 40 second 'downer' where your stat benefits are transformed into penalties.

    Dealer Location:
Tatooine, as they always say, is a hive of scum and villainy. If you didn't expect to find spice here, you must not be a Star Wars fan! A spice dealer in the cantina would be quite the cliche, so our resident Tatooine spice dealer is located in the hunter's club. Remember Kudos, the Rodian pazaak player? Being so bad at the game, he has to do something to keep the credits coming in...

    Bugs:
Occasionally the downers seem not to take effect. Consider this a gift from God if it happens. You can also not stack two of the same kind of spice on top of each other. You can stack two different spices, however.

    Comments:
Don't get addicted. Spices are bad for you, mmkay? And be careful when you take the spice... I'd hate to think you got slaughtered in battle because you hit your downer just when you were most vulnerable!

  24. Arik Saito's Armor

    Original Review on Filefront:

"First off, sorry for the delay in uploading this skin.

Here we have a reskin of the Calo Nord Armour ingame. Bright shiny and gold. Too me it looks badass, I can totally see myself running around killing everything in site wearing this (but thats just the sadistic side of me ) All in all very simple skin job, but done very well. I would expect nothing less Further note: this mod works for Kotor and Kotor2.

  25. WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistol by Inyri Forge

Uploaded by permission of the author.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"Earlier today the WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistol was uploaded to this site for the first Knights of the Old Republic game. This blaster model was designed for Jango Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, who used it to attack Obi-Wan Kenobi on Kamino, blasted Master Coleman Trebor, and tried to gun down Mace Windu that lead to his beheading on Geonosis.

Of course the users here that were downloading were screaming for this model to be released in Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Inyri Forge heard their cries and decided to give in and convert this for TSL. The only problem was she couldn't test it since she currently doesn't have TSL installed, which means don't expect any other TSL mods from her anytime soon. Because of setback in converting, she needed my help with testing the mod and getting screenshots for it.

This blaster will have all the bonuses that were implied in the K1 release. These bonuses are 2-6 ion damage, 3-3 cold damage, on hit properties attribute damage DC 22, and 3-3 fire damage. The bonuses you got from upgrading the blaster are already in the blaster once you get it. This was done because of the different upgrading system TSL has and you can apply those additional upgrades with this blaster.

To get this blaster in your inventory, you will need to use the cheat console. The author explains why she didn't put in game play in her readme as well as how to spawn it. Enjoy the TSL version of WESTAR-34 Blaster!

    Installation Instructions:
Move all files into your KotOR2 override directory.

    Description:
I'm not a big fan of the prequel films, but Jango Fett has a special place in my heart. I also really like the design of his blasters, which is one reason I modeled them (typically I don't like making guns). Just keep in mind that these are high-quality pistols. You'll have to be some kind of pistoleer to use them (rough translation: you need Weapon Focus for pistols).

    Comments:
Obviously since these blaster pistols wouldn't have existed in the Old Republic era I have not placed them in-game anywhere. You can get them by using 'giveitem westarpistol' in the console.

    Bugs:
    None, I hope.
