Those warnings are completely normal and certainly not the cause for your issues. On the contrary actually, if they were missing you would most likely run into issues. From your screenshot I cannot see any other issues either. Can you send me the actual installog file? It's in the same folder as the Install.exe of the mod. Ideally it would be the file from the initial installation but maybe I can still find the issue in the reinstallation log although I don't have any idea what could be causing this right now. I'm also not at home for a few more days. Once I get back I can test and see if I have the same issue in my installation.

By "in the modules" you mean that a file already exists in XXX.mod? I assume you have TSLRCM installed? In either case that's intended behavior and the mod installed just fine. As a general rule: TSLPatcher warnings are often no problem but intended. Only errors are always a problem. By deleting 231tel.mod and 233tel.mod you screwed up your TSLRCM installation, which causes the crash. What do you mean by: "you can barely see the clouds" though?

Fog and Speed Blur Fix for the 2016 TSL patch
Kexikus replied to Kexikus's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
That file is completely different from what the fix in this thread does and I'm not even sure if it will work properly without this fog fix. Why don't you just follow the instructions in the OP of this thread? There is no need for anything else. Hassat Hunter was just looking for a way to distribute the fix with a workshop mod which did not work but since you only want to play/show the fix, that's not necessary anyway. -
I published a tiny update that fixes some compression issues with the Nar Shaddaa skybox. And I also published the mod on the Steam workshop.

It really helps to use the WASD keys to look around. That's much faster than using the mouse. Using that I also never had any problems killing most if not all enemies.

View File High Quality Skyboxes II If you update from version 1.0.x to 1.1 make sure to read the special instructions in the read-me! In order to update to 1.1.1 from any previous version, delete all 306nara.wok, 306narb.wok and 306nard.wok from your Override folder. If you had version 1.1 installed there is no need for anything else, otherwise follow the instructions in the read-me. ABOUT: This mod replaces every skybox and every planetary backdrop in the game with a new high resolution version made from scratch. This includes a replacement of every skybox model to fix all the glaring issues with the original. There are also some additional minor changes that either fix issues with the vanilla environments or serve to better blend ingame terrain and skybox. Other than that I recommend you just check out the screenshots as pictures say more than a thousand words or check the video to see the animated skyboxes. Click the following image to see additional interactive screenshot comparisons: There are also add-ons with new skyboxes for the following mods: M4-78 Enhancement Project Coruscant - Jedi Temple If you find any issues or have any other comments, please let me know and I'll see what can be done. INSTALLATION: For installation instructions check the read-me files of the individual downloads. You either have to run an installer or just drop files into your Override folder. For the mod to take full effect you need a savegame where you have not yet left Citadel Station. If you update from version 1.0.x to 1.1 make sure to read the special instructions. I also highly recommend to install the fog fix if you are using the latest Steam patch. COMPABILITY: This mod is not compatible with any mod that edits skyboxes in any way. This includes mods that only edit their models. There might also be rare incompabilities with mods that edit non-skybox area models if those models are also edited by this mod. PERMISSIONS: You may NOT redistribute any textures included in this archive without my explicit permission. You may however use all the models as long as you give me credit. It took longer than expected, but High Quality Skyboxes II for TSL is finally out! You can find the mod on nexusmods and once it's been approved also here on DS of course: In the meantime you can also watch the showcase: I will also upload the mod to the Steam workshop hopefully tomorrow but I'll have to set that up and test it first.

Actually, from your screenshot that does look like a reflective surface, just a broken one. Both the ground and all the buildings should reflect the skybox but instead you seem to have no proper reflection and only this broken line. I would assume that this is also caused by your GPU not liking OpenGL/KotOR and not something that we can fix.

Well, that would be me^^'
-
Ah okay. I didn't even notice those and I have no idea what they're supposed to be either.
-
Thanks for the praise. I'm glad you like it. As for your question, I honestly don't know which smoke you are referring to. I can't see any smoke in either the vanilla nor my skyboxes except for on the polar plateau.

Here they are! The comparison gallery for the TSL release is ready. Have fun looking through those pictures: https://kexikus.github.io/HQSkyboxes_TSL_Comparison/

Thanks for looking into it. I still have no idea why it happens only in this one module but at least it seems to be consistent for everyone who has this issue. I've attached a possible fix to this post. Could you extract the two files into your Override and see if the issue is fixed? @mackmitchell94 Could you check as well? TarisNorthFix.zip
-
Hmm, you're the second person to report this glitch. Does it happen in every Taris module or only in some? Also, what's your OS and GPU?

Well, I would guess that this is somehow related to using a laptop GPU. Kotor is known to have issues with those. I have no idea how that would happen though, especially in only a single area. You could check that the m02ab_sky and m02ab_01l models are in your Override. There should be .mdl and .mdx files for both of those. Maybe they got corrupted somehow but I doubt it.
-
That makes sense. While I like the yellow windows I can see why you would prefer the old ones. And I definitely see your point about them lacking variation in my case. I did intentionally make them quite dense/small to convey a better sense of scale but I might have overdone that a little. Right now I don't feel like doing that (slightly burned out on skyboxes) but I might actually look into improving that in the future. Since it's only a backdrop texture that is much easier than changing an entire skybox. No promises though.
-
Glad to hear that I was able to convince you on that end Well, I just disagree here. IMO the mountains fit Dantooine's landscape very well, but that's of course up to personal taste. I want to note however, that those mountains were also present in the original release. I think I changed their position and the big one that bothers you was probably farther away before but the mountains themselves are not new. As I said before, that's also personal taste and I do think that my textures are a vast improvement over the vanilla look in every regard. I have no idea what you're trying to show on those pictures however. Could you elaborate on that? The mdl and mdx files are replacements of the skybox models. I can't remember how terrible the vanilla Manaan skybox model is but I would assume that without those models you will get very ugly seams when using my new textures, so I would highly recommend using them. The only exception would be the docking bay where I also edited the backdrop planes which you don't want to use. So there you'll have to decide what to do. As for the underwater scene. I get why you feel that my skybox there is too bright compared to vanilla but the colors are almost exactly the same in V1 and V2. The biggest difference is that the new one has better lightrays and works when looking up whereas the old one was seriously broken there. So I don't get why you would continue using V1 in that case at all. Anyway, thanks for the review. I'm glad you like the things you do like and I hope you'll like the TSL version just as much if not even better.

Thanks! I only changed fog values. So SunFogOn, SunFogNear, SunFogFar and SunFogColor. Correct me if I am wrong but so far I have not come across a single mod that edits .are files except for this one. That is why I did not set up an installer but if that assessment is wrong, let me know and I will provide a TSLPatcher installation.
