  1. I've never used the mod up to that point of the game, but I'm thinking that the G0-T0 overhaul mod may be the culprit here. If not that, than it's either the NPC overhaul mod or the movement animation mod.

Try finding a way to remove the G0-T0 overhaul mod, than restart Malachor.

  2. I've had people tell me the game is better without TSLRCM.... Yep.... Proves that some people are insane

To be fair, I've played TSL a few times without the Restored Content mod because I was downloading and combining several different mods that were all incompatible with TSLRCM. I did try to make up for this by using the original version of M4-78, though.

  3. Yes!

KOTOR2, at least to me, is one of the greatest stories ever told in an RPG.

It's complexity and their characters (Kreia, Visas Marr, Atton, Handmaiden, Hanharr, G0-T0, Bao-Dur, Atris, Darth Sion, Darth Nihilus, Zez-Kai El etc) form a base for one of the most compelling moments in the Star Wars - Expanded Universe.

It's meditation about the events of the first game and about the Revan character were a stroke of genius.

Anyway, it's nice that more people know the awesomeness of this game.

Indeed, TSL is all that and more... if you have the restored content mod.

If not, the game can arguably be considered a garbled up mess in terms of the story, with good potential but a flawed execution.

It almost makes me wish the official PC releases of the game came included with TSLRCM from the start so that everyone can experience the mod, but I'm sure most people who have the game already have the mod by now anyways.

  4. I'm almost completely positive that this is all BS.

The initial trailer for this mod only showed a compilation of Various Kotor trailers and early pre-release footage. Hell, it even included a moment from JediShemLs "Revan Kisses Bastila" video, which shows several different mods from Sheml.

One of their videos lets you hear a brand new remastered piece of music for the game/mod/whateverthehellthisis, accompanied by pictures of various different mods that can be found on Kotorfiles. Ironically, some of which show the game at low graphical settings.

Their channel also has two visual comparison videos, comparing the original game to the "remastered" counterpart. I'm 99% that all that's being compared here are the games low graphical settings and high graphical settings.

Is this supposed to be for the Xbox version, or what?

They're also planning to add new plants and, above all things, multiplayer to this? Pfffft

I mean, if this ends up being something fantastic with multiplayer actually being part of the game one day, I'll be amazed, but what I'm seeing so far is ridiculously unconvincing.

  5. What the hell was even changed with this mod?

I'm looking at their Vanilla vs Remastered gameplay comparison video, and hardly anything appears to have been changed.

It looks like they compared the game on lower settings to higher settings.

  6. As of right now, around 1.85 GB for TSL. Kotor 1 is currently uninstalled.

Back when I would go super crazy with my Kotor mods, I would have an override folder filled with around 2.5 - 3.0 GB worth of files.

A few game breaking bugs started to become noticeable near the 3.0 mark, though. The Ultimate Saber mod is great, but it causes so many conflicts with other mods That it got annoying to handle them all. Whenever I had USM installed, the only restored content I ever had was the original version of M4-78, and some other small bits of restored content.

    Good times.

  7. I download the majority of my mods from JKHub, and I've had an account there for a couple of months. It's a great community with a wonderful selection of mods.

I'm really thankful for you guys holding the Dark Forces JKA mod especially, since I wasn't able to find it anywhere else.

  8. I've had the mobile version of Kotor for a couple of months now. The touch controls take a while to get used to, and your FPS can be a tad bit unstable depending on how powerful the device you're using is.

I really only got this to satisfy the inner Kotor fan within me, but maybe I can enjoy playing Kotor on the go now if I'm on a long trip. Always nice to be able to bring with me one of my favorite games with me wherever I want. :)

  9. Do you know how to extract game files from Kotor tool? If so, extract the original baseitems.2da and upgrystals.2da into a folder or on your desktop.

Then, you'll need to download the 2da converter/merger tool from this website:

    http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php

You will need the original game's version of both the baseitems and upcrystals, as well as both of the files that are in your override folder and the two files from the mod you need to use(that's six files, three of each).

This tool is pretty self explanatory. I'd recommend placing each individual file in it's own separate and properly named folder so things don't get hectic or crazy when your trying to find the files to merge. Don't delete the files either unless you're perfectly satisfied with the merged 2da files you've made. Keep your original overide files as a backup in case you run into any issues with your new files.

  10. Meh

Summarized all of my thoughts into one word.

There's nothing new here for me to be excited about!

    -We've got Stormies; OK.

-We've got helmetless Stormies in the middle of a tatooione desert; fine.

-We've got HD Tie fighter and Melenium Falcon CGI; alright.

-We've got the return of the Rebel Alliance/New Republic; expected.

What's there to be excited from this trailer, exactly? I think the only scene from this trailer which actually caused some excitement in me was the part were the X-wings were flying low above the water.

It's the same old stuff we've seen before with one exception: the Sith warrior with the most impractical Saber in the universe.

Yes, I know it's fantasy, and yes, I know that lightsabers like this have been done before in the past (which still does not excuse just how damn stupid they look),

But the saber, both in the hilt and the blade's abnormal design, look unappealing regardless.

This didn't lower my expectations for the movie in the slightest, but I don't see how people could raise their expectations of the movie from this trailer, either.

  11. I was recently playing K1 again or at least played short parts to test stuff and I found myself in one of those random space battles that sometimes occur when leaving a planet.

And the thing I noticed is that you can always see Taris and the Sith fleet in the background. That's obviously perfectly fine for the battle during the attack on Taris and I guess they simply used the exact same module for all later battles. It's no big deal either but I'd love a mod that simply removes those backdrops from later battles.

I also found high resolution textures of all planets. They are mostly recolored versions of the Taris texture and therefor not really useful but I think that Bioware once intended to have different backdrops depending on the planet you are leaving. So if someone wants to take this idea for a mod even further, he/she could implement that feature ;)

Do you have the Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's revenge mod installed? I've always had that issue with the space battle backgrounds when I had that mod. I'm not sure why that would be a glitch of all things, but it's a result of that mod, for sure.

  12. Potentially, but what about giving both?

I don't remember the exact lines he said, nor do I have a save file to re-read them, but I'm pretty sure the way he referred to the reward was in a singular manner; the "symbol of his clan," or something along those lines. The crystal would be more fitting than the Vibroblade, I think.

Maybe you could show the Wookie fighting the Mandalorians using both his regular long sword in one hand and the Echani Vibroblade in the other, if you want to imply that the Wookie pretty much gave whatever of value he had as his reward.

  13. Sadly, no.

This is not due to lack of effort, but merely the fact that the area is empty, with no content nor the hint of what was supposed to be there...

Understandable, but regrettable I suppose. I guess it won't really matter for me though, since I have my own slightly modified version of the Restored Shadowlands from Kotorfiles anyway, and that's good enough for me.

Will the Rough-Cut Upari Crystal at least be received as a reward from the Wookie Warrior there instead of the Echani Vibroblade like in the vanilla game? At least, I'm assuming that's who you were supposed to get the crystal from anyway, unless I'm mistaken. It just seems like the most likely way to obtain it.

  14. Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Don't you lot look at me. Translating Yavin IV into English was tough enough. Translating something of this scope the other way around, nope.avi.

Wait, you're the guy who translated that mod into English?

Thank you! I used to love that mod when I was knew to Kotor.

  15. The Restoration Mod put the Bith file inside of the Override folder instead of a MOD file first. I kept trying to remove it from the override and add it to the Restoration Mod's custom MOD file for the first set of Taris apartments, but the changes would always keep being reverted. I eventually just gave up after trying for several times and not finding the reason as to why. The tools I used were Kotortool and ERFEdit.

  16. I'll take a look at the file sometime. If I can figure out where Silveredge meant it to go, I'll just put it into that module's .mod file, instead of the override folder.

As to the Duros on Taris, since his lines were Bith but his appearance Duros, do you guys think we should change the appearance or the audio? Either way doesn't involve much effort.

Or should we just leave him as-is in vanilla?

I would prefer an appearance change to give the game a bit more diversity in its NPCs. Bith are hardly seen in game with the exception of the cantina musicians and the occasional non-intractable Bith NPC sitting down in a chair.

I also would prefer that the previously mentioned merchant also keep his appearance as a merchant, simply because I know that there was supposed to be a Bith on Korriban at one point. If it had to be anyone, why not the merchant?

    463518-kotor_009.jpg

I know this Bith repalces the Twilek dock officer, but I still think a Bith would be more suited as the merchant.

It's perfectly fine if all that could be done is a voice change to the Duros in the apartments. Better than nothing.

  17. Ah okay, well I guess I can wait a bit longer for that. Although I guess I could test it out and see what happens. Does the restored content effect outside the bar in Tatooine and some parts of Korriban in the space port? Because I think those are the only areas which gets effected by Solomon's Revenge.

With mods in mind, what mods would you guys considered when it comes to the restored content to this game?

I don't know about Tatooine, but Korriban's Rodian merchant becomes a Bith as a side effect of the n_bith001 file (the name may be slightly off). The file, I'm assuming, was directed towards the Duros who was killed by the Sith officer in the PC's Taris apartment. This Duros actually spoke using a Bith's voice instead of the voice of a Duros, and because his file name was called n_BITH, it makes sense that the character was supposed to be a Bith instead.

Unfortunately, this causes a change in the UTC file for the Rodian merchant on Korriban, which also shares the file name of n_bith001. For some reason, the player can't speak to the merchant while he's like this, so he's rendered useless. I tried fixing the file myself, but for some reason, I could never get it the way I wanted it. The best I could do was just delete the file and revert the two aliens back to how they were in the vanilla game.

I'm hoping this glitch was, or will eventually be fixed.
