    A Mod for Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic Author: N-DReW25 1.0.0 Release Date: 31.05.2025 Installation: Please install the K1 Community Patch FIRST before this mod! No exceptions! Once you click on the INSTALL.exe, you'll be given a few options. Each option will install a different alien species into your game, to get all the aliens the pack offers you'll need to install all options one after the other. Bith- This option will add 4 new Bith variants across the game. Ithorian- This option will add 2 new Ithorian variants across the game. Duros- This option will add 2 new Duros variants across the game. Devaronian- This option will add Devaronians to the game. They come in 5 variants with each variant having a matching Czerka variant. Description: This mod adds brand new aliens to the game whether it be entirely new aliens or expansions to the already available aliens from the vanilla game. Each and every alien, both vanilla and new, shall have five variants. For expanded pre-existing aliens, for example the Rodians (when they are added) will only have one new appearance as there are already four generic Rodian variants in the vanilla game whereas the Duros get two new appearances as they only have three whilst the Bith get four new appearances as they only have one. New aliens, if applicable, shall have unique soundsets and new VO wherever possible. These new aliens may replace pre-existing aliens, for example a Devaronian may replace a Twi'lek and its Twi'lek VO whilst other hypothetical aliens like the Zabraks may replace previously human NPCs with Zabraks.     @The_Chaser_OneYou omitted Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge mod, which is suggested in this guide. BoS:SR is big and good content mod, loved by most of the people who played it, and was considered to be the best content mod for KOTOR. If we add it to your formula, we get K1CP+RC-K1CP < K1R+BoS:SR. I'm very excited for RC-K1CP, but it alone is not enough and, moreover, is far from complete. It was a good attempt to get people on the K1CP side by introducing the Crashed Republic Cruiser mod in mod builds (even praising it as the best content mod), but K1R+BoS:SR is still intriguing combination. What kind of scary, game-affecting, unpleasant or at least noticeable glitches and bugs are we even talking about? Sure, KOTOR has serious issues nowadays, but they are hardware-related and can't be fixed by K1CP anyways. Not counting 'permanent status effects' bug, I remember Z-E-R-O bugs after a dozen of playthroughs in the past. K1CP fans love to brag about these supposed 'hundreds of various fixes and improvements' as if KOTOR is unplayable mess without them, like Gothic 3, Sacred 2 and Pathfinder: Kingmaker were on release. But this is not true. As Snigaroo wrote in a post below yours, KOTOR was not rushed, and even had an additional half-year of development time to iron out bugs, polish content and ensure that the game released in a completed state. And received 4 patches after. While some things K1CP fixes/edits are cool, others wiill only be noticeable to purists with microscope. Rotated NPC by 10 degree? Fixed incorrect battle soundset of some random thug? Good. How much will this improve gaming experience? Debatable. And younger gamers will still not be 100% satisfied, because KOTOR will never have graphic and animations like modern games. To say that I'm in awe of DarthParametric's titanic work, scrupulous determination and dedication is an understatement. But is such self-sacrifice even necessary when most people won't see a difference? K1CP is very popular in 2025, but the question is, how much of K1CP popularity is related to 2 things: Releasing/abandoning games with serious bugs became a norm, so gamers have learnt to seek Community Patches before playing a game (even older ones). They see the magic words: Community Patch, they download it without a second thought. A few influential individuals in Discord, Reddit communities, sing praises and actively advertize K1CP, include it in very popular KOTOR Mod Builds (even pointing out that bugfixes are important to KOTOR as much as TSLRCM to KOTOR 2, which is questionable statement, to say the least) and guide people looking for mods towards it, while simultaneously turning people away from K1R. If we aknowledge these factors, which one really comes first in terms of people's interest? Most likely Community Patch would win over Restored Content. Still, didn't N-DReW25 started RC-K1CP, because saw a big demand for K1R content? While technically correct, K1CP is still in active development (hundreds fixes throughout the game in each version), modders have to check their mods for compatibility every time a new version is released. Is a mod that was listed as compatible with K1CP 2 years ago and hasn't been updated since, still compatible? Who knows, probably not. K1R is, at least, finished. This is the guide specifically for K1R. So maybe it would be better to just correct Hraith by saying that K1CP isn't obsolette, but an alternative core mod, and leave it at that. P. S. This post is not directed against you, The_Chaser_One, but more like an explanation, why, in my opinion, K1CP shouldn't be aggressively adverized as an ultimate answer.

    I was going on the statement on K1R that the content restored was based on files left in the game, some of which had to be restored but if there's evidence it could have been there, I've played the mod thru many times, then it SHOULD be. None of it is out of place and while people have mentioned bugs I've never once encountered one. At least not one I didn't introduce myself with a mod. I think little things like Jolee Bindo's full advice on love and romance, Juhanni's full back-story, A drinking competition, some dialogue that's just a little more blunt and to the point; those little touches are what makes the game world immersive. It's been so long since I played without mods I honestly forget what's not there on, for example, the Switch. But meeting Bastilla's mother and that choice, Griff, Jolee's friend, Genohardan, pretty sure that's all stock/standard. I do really enjoy the extra stuff and spent tons of time of the old Bioware forums. There were "developer accounts" in that forum that said many times there was more content they wanted to include, more choices, like killing Marlene. That one specifically came up a lot. That's my only source, I've never seen a video of it either. While they didn't go into specifics on everything they wanted restored, and K1R certainly falls far short of that metric, K1R doesn't do anything that's out of line. That's my only point, originally.     @LoneWandererI get what you mean, even though I don't agree with everything you said. As I wrote in one of the posts up there, you can definitely play with K1R, even more if you count BOSSR, which we indeed didn't talk about. Yes, people are indeed looking for restored content, for which K1R is a good solution for most once in a life time KOTOR players. From what I've understood though, there are issues with the K1R, reported by users. for example, this one : This comment was under the RC-K1CP mod and is apparently approved by many other users. This proves your point, because yes, people want restored content, but also mine in which K1R does have big issues that if you're not blind you are going to notice. So imo, people want the K1CP because it actually fixes issues that were in the vanilla game (without counting the ones K1R and BOSSR bring). People want K1R because it restores content, yes, but if you look more closely, the RC-K1CP is becoming bigger and bigger and as I said earlier, K1CP + RC-K1CP > K1R. Now BOSSR is indeed an interesting point. To be very honest though, BOSSR apparently brings many issues, especially on other devices than PC, such as mobiles. Which is why I think people are expected to play it once (the guy who did it even included a save especially to do that) and that's it. So finally, it's up to users what they prefer. This guide doesn't have any issue imo, it's just that an alternative with K1CP could be made. I think the debate K1R/K1CP is still worth it though. I might try to mess around with BOSSR files to see if I can make some kind of compatibility patch. Apparently there aren't that many issues between K1CP and BOSSR. Perhaps @DarthParametric or @N-DReW25 could do it themselves ? Edit : For BOSSR, a compatibility patch doesnt cause any permission issue (yes, it is definitely going to take time though lol), and for the drinking contest, I have permission from FairStrides. For now @LoneWanderer, you can still be right. Soon, there won't be any place for disagreement heheheha ! Oh and one more thing : @SAO1138's Sleheyron story mode will be compatible with K1CP, but I'm not sure about K1R. Pazaak Tournament incoming !
