About This File

Making lightsabers is incredibly easy!

1. Go to the Workbench and select "Use Saber Console"

2. Choose "Create a hilt", choose a model and a color

3. The hilts are like a lightsaber crystal. Just equip it into the crystal spot and voila!

It comes with its own installer, but I assure you it's not malicious.

If you run into incorrect colors, simply switch out the crystal at a workbench and rebuild the lightsaber.

HOLOWAN DUPLISABER v.215b

Chainz.2da

Darth Deadman Evasto Inyri Forge OldFlash Qui-Don Jorn Quanon Seprithro Svosh T7Nowhere TriggerGod VarsityPuppet

This mod expands the current lightsaber selection to include 59 different hilts, 13 different colors and long-bladed lightsabers.

There are 59 total saber hilts to choose from, and they are available in 13 different colors, making for 767 possibilities.

Future versions will integrate the saber hilts into the game as prizes and earnable or collectible items.

Installation:

Just click "Install" and wait for the progress bar to finish. If the installer closes early, the installation was not successful.

Using the mod:

Once in game, go to any workbench and you should have the option to open up the Saber Console. From the Saber Console, you can choose any hilt and the color of that hilt. This will give you a "hilt" item that you can use at a workbench to create a lightsaber. Simply switch out the color crystal for the desired hilt and it will change your lightsaber. Due to the nature of the game engine, you can even change the type of the weapon based on the hilt you choose. Changing from short to long to single to double is as easy as switching out a hilt.

Disclaimer: This mod was built to be compatible with all mods (TSLRCM and M4-78 included). Any errors you encounter either come from a conflict caused by another mod or are a result of an installation error.

DO NOT MESS WITH THE FILE FOLDERS. DOING SO WILL RUIN THE INSTALLATION.

Credits:

This mod was made from saber mods for which I asked for permission to use or were already open for free use. Each lightsaber is marked in-game with its original designer in its description.

A mass majority of my weapons and items do not have icons , just white boxes , and  they are unequippable , I equip them and its not shown in my hand or equipped . It's even affected my other weapon mods that arent lightsabers , i can't see them either .

Do you have any other major weapon or item mods.

I Run a lot of Mods but mine still works so maybe you have a mod that's incompatible with this one

That's weird because this mod does work for me although i also have his Hi Poly Tin Cans Fixed Saber Icons and Colors installed so maybe that might fix it.

So...I think I'm just going to to wipe and reinstall everything, starting with TSLRCM & M-478, then go with Duplisaber. I have a ton of add-ons and mods installed, but I'm not exactly sure where the breakdown is... most of the mods i have installed are skins and/or textures, but there are a couple of others in there and all my downloads are ridiculously disorganized.

Thanks for the feedback thus far peeps! :-)

As far as I know it's a problem with the installer. The defect baseitems.2da causes the white boxes and missing items. So I don't think making a clear install will work. (I may be wrong)

The author provided me a clear .2da and I copied the new rows. Voila, it works perfectly.

So should I just install everything, backup the baseitems.2da and copy the lines from the Duplisaber basetimes.2da over to it?

Sorry, still a newbie at editing them - haven't successfully done this yet... Trying to get into modding and whatnot, but the learning curve is enormous for somebody learning :-)

The installer automatically creates a backup. Take that 'old' baseitems.2da and overwrite the new one. Then add the new rows.

But the duplisaber baseitems.2da is not provided with the mod because the installer does the work to create or alter one. You may contact VarsityPuppet for that. I won't upload the one he gave me cause it's not mine.

So i made a backup override file for kotor 2 , but i accidentally deleted it . Is there anyway I coulg go about wiping my whole folder and getting the original contents of it back without the mods just the original game files ? or if i delete it will it be permanently deleted forever ?

Also , how useful is the kotor mod manager by chuck chargin jr and how do you use it ?

Would it make a difference if I installed the Duplisaber MOD first, then install TSLRCM & M4-78EP?

Thanks for the feedback!

So here's a stupid question - I ran the Duplisaber MOD installer, but just had it extract to a random folder so that the baseitems.2da and all models and files extracted to a folder separate from the ...\SWKotor2\   install folder.

Now, I have a baseitems.2da file just hanging out which SHOULD be the file containing the new lines that Duplisaber should be writing to the game 2da file... IF I understand correctly how this works. If I understand correctly, I can just copy the lines from the Duplisaber baseitems.2da file to the main baseitems.2da file? My only concern is that many of the lines look exactly the same...

Any help from ANYONE in this would be awesome :-)

Nice - installed, no issues.

Couple of suggestions for future deployments, if you are open to them, I know you've been slaving away at this thing already:

1. Someway to preview the hilt itself before selecting (picture/example of hilt)

2. The "Crystal Surplus" option is cool, but I don't seem to be able to utilize all of the crystal colors.

 - no option to select "Majenta" for example, does not show up in upgrade console or in "Create Hilt" console

Other than that, it's pretty awesome - I like how everyone can have their own unique lightsaber hilts, an after some trial and error, I was able to select hilts that reflect my impressions of all the NPC's (besides the hilts with their names on them).

Ohohohoo, I've been waiting for this... :P

I suppose, I would be better off, installing this mod on a fresh install, right? And unlike USM, it's TSLRCM compatible, yay. :D ........right?

YES - definitely TSLRCM & M4-78EP compatible.

Keep in mind - still in BETA - mostly works, no crashes to report. I would recommend installing it if you have a saved game from before you acquire any lightsabers. I installed after I already had some, game crashed. Started from a save where I didn't have any, everything worked fine. Can never go wrong with installing on a fresh install.

Love this mod, only issue I'm having is sometimes the crystals bought from the saber console aren't going into my inventory. Am I the only one?

VP reported that it still a bug he's working out. I think everybody is having the same thing...

@VP - I've also come across an issue where lightsabers for some NPC's aren't showing properly. Darth Sion had a green lightsaber... Which didn't make him look all that evil - I have the HD 2K Darth Sion mod installed.

Both Darth Revan and Darth Malak's lightsabers are not the correct colors too.

"Sith Lightsaber" is now green, so Sion and others have incorrect colored lightsabers. Noticed that using kse.

Sorry it's called "Dark Jedi Lightsaber". But still it is green.

I am having problems with this mod. Basically after install, all sabers in the game have a new hilt, all of them have the same one, and they are a greenish blue color, the icons for the sabers show an extended blue blade, and no sabers are upgradeable.

I had the exact same problem, except the sabers were upgradable. Did you have the Dxun Veteran replace all the standard lightsabers?

just move the uti files from the override/saberconsole folder to the main overrider folder and the crystals will be added(either from the surplus or via KSE).
