KOTOR2 (TSL) Animated Galaxy Map Texture in Canon Positions 1.2
=====================================================================

AUTHOR: Sith Holocron
FIRST RELEASE: 19 FEB 2017
UPDATED RELEASE: 02 JUN 2020
CURRENT RELEASE: 25 JUL 2024
GAMES: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II

Description:
------------
The Galaxy Map texture of the Ebon Hawk was originally sized at 128x128. It is now sized to 512x512. In addition to the resolution bump, the actual texture is now animated.
As the texture tile is named the same in both KotOR games, the mod is usable in both games.

So . . . what’s different?  The planets are now in the positions as laid out in Bead-V’s TSL Galaxy Map Fix .
Though this mod is meant for Knights of the Old Republic 1, it can and will work in KotOR2 if the installation instructions below are followed.

Note: The LEH_scre03 texture is the Galaxy Map *before* you click on it, that is when you can see the rest of the cockpit.

This mod is not recommended for use in KotOR2, as it refers to places not seen in the game. A version for KOTOR1 using the “canon” positions for the planets is available here.

There are FOUR different versions of the Galaxy Map texture that you can use!
Version 1: The original planets as laid out in the original un-modded game.
Version 2: In addition to the original planets, I've added M4-78 to the map.
Version 3: In addition to the original planets, I've added M4-78 and Coruscant to the map.
Version 4: This is the "April Fool's Version" of the Galaxy Map as described in this post. (http://deadlystream....oon/#entry44585) : It includes all original planets, M4-78, Coruscant, and Cathalan.
Unlike the GIF shown on that post, it doesn't have the "Don't Travel" animation as part of the map.

Here's a video that shows the textures in the game.

Thanks to @Mellowtron11 for providing the game save so I could get this video done relatively quickly!

Released

V 1.2: When putting together the Foreign Language edition of this mod, I noticed that the text looked crisper on the new versions.  So I redid the text for the English versions 1 through 3 to match them. (With version 4, I have only changed the "planet title bar" in the texture.)

V 1.1: There was a slight tweak to the Version 4 (Cathalan) Galaxy Map.  The color was redone.  I figured it may as well look good as it could for the video that I added to the description.  LOL

I don't get it. Why all the hate towards the Steam Workshop? I think it is easier to install mods with the Steam Workshop and I will never understand why people hate it so much. I have never had any problems with it. Maybe it is just a preference not to, buy why? It's so much easier to push a Subscribe button and have the mods install for you. I think if a mod doesn't work on Steam Workshop it is because whoever created it didn't set it up properly.

Some sort of moral boycott.

Some sort of moral boycott.

It sure seems that way. I guess people have the right to decide where their mods are uploaded. Thanks for updating this mod Sith Holocron, I also like the April Fools joke. Didn't even know of the Cathalan mod, I saw a lets play of it and it is horrible:

It is so laughable how the dialog is so bad. Apparently the mod author even stole some lines from Spongebob Squarepants. I also hate the repeating music in the background, so annoying!

How desperate do you have to be to publish that much rubbish. :)

Mods from Deadlystream most of the time come with a TSLPatcher installer. This installer "merges" two incompatible files such as 2da files together so it forms one compatible file that work, while Steam Workshops way of installing is easier it doesn't have this important feature. Not to mention TSLPatcher installer mods from here or Nexusmods can be used on Steam, Gog or CD editions of Kotor 1 and 2 and not just Steam alone.

While this likely doesn't apply to you but people on Steam tend to be more "dumber" when it comes to installing mods so even though according to my judgement this mod could work on the Workshop Sith Holocron likely personally doesn't want to have to deal with those annoying Steam users.

Might not have been a good idea to link and directly mention that but yeah that mod is horrible thus is why the Easter Egg is made here.

Sorry for the delayed response.  Here's why.
