What happens if you don't set Revan's alignment and gender in KOTOR 2?

When you first meet Atton in KOTOR 2, he starts talking about Revan. The player has the option to adjust what gender and alignment Revan was in KOTOR 1, but there's also a dialogue option of "I could care less about Revan's fate. I have other questions." At that point, Atton recognizes that you are the Jedi and the game progresses from there.

 

I'm curious what  If you select this option, does the game automatically choose a light or dark option? Is it like the Mass Effect series where if you didn't play one of the earlier games, you get a new game with all the 'bad' (or renegade choices) automatically picked for you?

TSL has global values to check Revan's gender and alignment: 101PER_Revan_End for Revan's alignment, 101PER_Revan_Sex for Revan's gender.

 

If 101PER_Revan_End is set to 1, Revan is Dark Side; If 101PER_Revan_End is 0, Revan is Light Side.

If 101PER_Revan_Sex is set to 1, Revan is female; If 101PER_Revan_Sex is 0, Revan is male.

 

If you do not set Revan's gender and alignment via the conversation with Atton on Peragus, the value of both 101PER_Revan_End and 101PER_Revan_Sex will remain 0, thus Revan will be Light Side Male.

This is how I was able to determine cannon way back, I just said IDC and the game answered my question about cannon xD

Is there any way to edit this. I need to for bad mod that I uninstalled reasons. getting rid of it messed with this somehow.

Well if it's just a global variable you could probably change it via KSE after having talked to Atton about it.
