Definitely V2. How much shine though I think is up for debate.

Well, often newer games have an exorbitant amount of shine, and Bioware uses non shiny areas like scratches on surfaces very well - so lets hope i find some fitting noise for it...

Guys, thanks for your opinions & votes - that also keeps me motivated searching for subtle improvements...

Currently im not 100% content with my Sith Base panels - i think some of them need more depth, most obviously LSI_lite07:

So i decided to install SWTOR since a long time again and - i knew the designs only by screenshots - was overwhelmed about the variety of designs throughout the planets...

Here are my changes to the panel animation - let me know if you like them or possible changes:

V1: Current animation

The new one is certainly a great improvement and looks more realistic. I'd go with version 5, as I don't really like the colour of the others. The red and yellow panels stand out too much and don't look like something you'd use in an actual base.

My thoughts as well. The color scheme of v5 fits best. But i must say, i quite like the yellow one as well ;) in another environment it might be cool.

Though I feel that the big aurebesh latters should be changed to sth else....

I it interests you, heres the "rolemodel" i used for inspiration:

I agree. In an environment with warmer colors it'd fit pretty well too but in the Sith base it just looks out of place to me.

Why does that panel look like you have Klingon characters on it?

You mean the bigger characters at the bottom, eh?

I assumed they were some sort of sith dialect, wasnt aware that theyre Klingonian origin..

Anyway i thought they look out of place already, lets see if i can find sth different...

My ultimate vote would go to V5. V3 and V4 aren't bad too because, besides black, the Sith have their collection of red colors as well.

i played around the Sith Base Kolto tank animation and add quite some refinements like slow change of the liquid consistency, air bubbles and color:

I have to admit that I'm not a fan of those new colors. I prefered the simple blue version.

Everything else about that new animation looks amazing :D

Here you go.

A slightly less saturated version:

Those look amazing. If I didn't know better, I'd say its an entirely new engine.

I'm going to have to start making requests for specific placeables that have been bugging me forever that I think you could make look incredible. Those bacta tanks look phenomenal!

I think I can see what Kexikus is talking about. In the first version is almost looks like liquid flowing but in a solid shape. But in the second version you can tell its a tank.

Well, funny story.. I was looking through your mods to find your Endar Spire mod, and came across exactly what I was thinking about. http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/526-panel-overhaul-animated-mass-effect-edition/ (As the first image on the page no less. XD) The communication console in Citadel Station was the placeable of which I spoke. Since I first laid eyes on them a decade ago, I have hated them..

So, I guess, good work on that too.. :)

im glad you found it...still, with more experience now i would do them  maybe more fitting to my Overhauls, but its always a matter of time....and animations just need a ton more attention than normal tex...

Some guys were not too happy about my attempt to recreate the black tech texture from here:

post-11673-0-70338800-1434311233_thumb.jpg

resulting in some kinda "spaceship" texture:

so i finally decided to redo it again - boy that was a lot of hussle and no fun:
