You can edit basically anything if you make sure to recompress the texture in Photoshop before you save it. Whenever I tried to save my animated texture as (Save as) a .tga rather than flattening the image first (and just hitting save), I ran into the animation not working properly. Also if you were to theoretically resize the animation image, you would have to make a .txi with a custom size yourself. (I can give you the specific command found in the .txi if you need it) I don't recommend resizing the animated textures due to the extra work it would require, but if you need to, you will need to find each cell and find what dimension they are (pixel height and width) and how many cells are in the image; which can be extremely difficult. Don't be greedy. Actually whenever I get my PC back up, I currently have all of the weapon textures and am working on making higher res versions of them.

In response to your image though, I like how the robot frame is similar to HK-47, but bigger and more intimidating. It makes sense that due to the similarity and larger size, HK would jealously call G0-T0 "Fat". As for the head, I like what your design looks like so far with the "stormtrooper helm" -shaped design. As long as it doesn't look like HK's head, I think it works.

Dodge can be a useful tool for shines. I also personally dabble with bright colors in a layer over existing textures blended with a dodge or color-dodge blending mode. Also burn is a good tool for darkening edges. Edit__ /self-faceslap! I now see what you mean by "shine". To give a texture a reflective quality, edit the alpha layer of your texture and paint the parts you want metal with black (or darker, basically darker will mean more shine) and create a new notepad file with the words: envmaptexture Cm_Baremetal and save it as <the name of your texture>.txi obviously you'll have to save your texture as a .tga

It said in an official statement in the main page yesterday, that the servers were being changed due to one of them going kaput.

Ah, okay. I just had experience with AC. So this is widespread, then?

I think he means the harder difficulty version that you can use in Batman Arkham City. That mode was just another name for playing it on a harder difficulty level, since that game had no difficulty options. Kotor 2 already has this ability, and you can even change its difficulty on the fly. I don't know if it has a HARD mode, but I know it has easy and medium at least.

I've had it for years and I still consider it among one of my favorite to play, but it has many, many technical and artistic faults that make it so much less than it was destined to be, for instance: It had shoddy texture quality (especially for a PS2 game); The AI was almost humorous in its detection quality and reactions/intelligence (the enemies could detect you across the map if you fired a weapon and would run breakneck-speed toward your direction either firing blindly or just giving you a good shot at them and they never used cover. They would also change from neutral to aggressive in a split second without any indication as to whether they should have, I most noticed this would happen when they would "surrender"); The hit detection for melee was frustrating, and the pistol couldn't kill in one hit ESPECIALLY at point-blank. Also the flamethrower was difficult to aim and even more difficult to actually hit enemies reliably with; The sound quality wavered from acceptable to flat/airy; The programming was the worst offender of all. The music would sometimes play at inopportune moments or not at all. I found myself waiting for animations and sounds to play when they should. However, even though these animations and sounds were obviously taking forever, the loading screens (which would have taken less time since they obviously weren't pre-loading them) still took a while to load; The quality of design and attention to detail was terrible as well. For example, the turret in the jungles of Malistare was visually too small to hold its own weight and I even saw some turrets that clipped and floated above the ground geometry. The larger caliber lasers had absolutely no effect on the environment. (the laser blasts didn't make small explosions where they hit as they should if anyone cared that larger caliber blasters make bigger blasts) Some of the in-game cinematics had no background elements for detail purposes and most geometry was limited in its detail. (The worst example of this is the utter lack of any detail or quality in the last Roz cutscene) Suffice it to be said, there were many problems with the execution and design in the game development. Still I like the characters and the story is still rather well done; also the pre-rendered cutscenes are especially well made. I just wish the rest if it was as well.

I would burn holes in things to get ANYTHING from the Star Wars Bounty Hunter game; a launch title with the coolest and most ambitious of ideas executed incredibly poorly. Also anyone who would actually finish the updates of Jedi Knight 1 and 2 would be in my gratitude. Incidentally, have you guys heard of the Black Mesa Source project?; basically a remake of HL 1 in HL 2's graphics and with its hi-res level of detail. (effectively what I'm wanting to do with BH ) I've found Valve to be a cool company for letting the community work with their game assets and builds as well, though I don't know what they did regarding Garry's Mod.

Ironically I approach a bit of a legal grey area when I think about revising and otherwise graphically improving old games that were good in concept, but poor in execution. I have a few that I've been trying to improve (for myself), but have been hampered by a lack of original game resources. I personally approve of companies that release SDKs and those that (at least tolerate) modding. I know this is regarding prototype builds, but SDKs are rather similar, I think. Edit__ That said, I refer to games that have been well released and played before any SDK or Early Builds are made available. I would never mod or copy a game if I didn't already own it for some time.

You can't really even ask for a release month, because things could still need to be implemented and you don't want to needlessly rush it. Normally I look for a timeline of things completed, but since this particular mod is full of spoilers, you could ask for an approximate percentage of completion/needing completion, perhaps.

So my computer starts acting up right before TSCLRM comes out.. lightning storm knocked the power out and now my card can't display my screen (pre-existing problem I had since forgotten about)...Waiting on repair moneys/ a rapid (computer)recovery

Oh, Okay. You may not have to rip it from the BIK to have the original track though. I got the exact same music that is in the BIK by editing the WAV audio file for Sion's music and skipping ahead about 30 seconds. PS:If you can get it to work the same way, I suggest to use the enhanced music track by PastramiX (Mod Link) (If you get his permission of course. I don't condone stealing other's work) They made it twice as cool for me! [/A mere suggestion, nothing more]
-
I believe the scene is actually in-game and not a BIK. I changed my music by renaming Sion's music Nihilis'. Also if it's unchanged from the original mod, the filfront page says it's a cutscene and not a BIK movie.

I have that pack as well. (If this is the Star Wars greatest hits disk) You have to use the other disk. They actually have the wrong graphic on each disk. Hopefully this works.. Also the Jedi Outcast game has a similar issue on that particular pack...

Now re-editing all 50+ lightmaps so that I'm not starting my Dantooine playthrough in the dark...also, going to think about trying other planets/adding more frames

Though most people probably come here for KOTOR2 mods... (although of course I assume more hosting sites are used)
-
I think releasing this mod in two parts is a great idea! Especially considering if the sheer size the entirety of it will be. Plus we can release different planets and test whether it works or not before we have the whole game altered. Cool.

My first impression is that he's different (The HK-51), but TOR is set a decent amount of time after KOTOR II and it's still within the realm of possibility that someone either rebuilt the HK factory or there was a different factory all the time. That could at least explain the design differences (as the manufacturer/re-manufacturer could have made changes), and the factory could be located anywhere besides Telos, since it was never stated where "all" of the HK units were being built. There is also the possibility that the HKs rebuilt their own factory and lay dormant (since HK-47 destroyed the factory on Telos) until you find them. I don't know if it's stated in official canon that the factory was destroyed by the exile and HK-47, but this is just my thought on the matter.

I had this EXACT same problem. It was totally jarring for me, because I personally loved the horror feel that Sion's original music had. I switched Nihilis's theme with Sion's and renamed it for myself, but I was actually going to ask about this.

I understand how you feel. Normally, you can get a pretty good idea of what progress is being made on the mod if you look in its forum thread. The mod author will also sometimes post an estimated level of completion and itinerary there. (Heck, sometimes seeing the progressing screenshots also sometimes thankfully posted by the author/s, helps to ease the pain of not being able to play the mod somewhat with the knowledge that it WILL be done eventually; and that it will totally be worth the wait ) Edit__ Too late do I realize that we're IN the TSCLRM official thread.. . Therefore, it is actually posted earlier in THIS thread the progress and itinerary. (I do think there was a photo or two as well)

He heh! Well, I'm glad LF is back up and that his problem was fixed.

From the album: Screenshots
Is there anything more epic?! (okay, Nihilis using lightning and drain at the same time probably, but you get my point ) I've already shown Fair Strides this one. It took forever, but I managed to get T3 to torch a guy and Kreia to lightning blast him at the same time. -
Have you edited textures and tested them in your game before? It's possible, if vaguely that your card isn't rendering the edited texture properly because your copy of Photoshop isn't exporting the .TGA properly. However, if you tested other textures made by your copy of Photoshop and didn't experience this problem, I find it unlikely. Also, have you checked your Alpha layer in Photoshop? It's possible that your texture actually has no opacity in the eyelid section because the alpha layer is darkened there.

I believe the importer only supports JPEGs. What I normally do is convert it from .BMP to .JPEG in Paint.exe -
KotOR1 Restoration Demo Impressions and bug reporting thread
Malkior replied to ZM90's topic in KotOR1 Restoration (K1R)
Some new stuffs... First, a text discrepancy for Canderous's VO: In his first line about what he knows of Taris, He says,"Yeah, I know Taris" The text says "I know about Taris". Also, in the middle of his speech, he says, "You've got the rich on top, the poor being crushed underneath, and people like me making a living doing the crushing". His text is, You've got the rich people on top, the poor people being crushed underneath, and people like me making a living doing the crushing". Second, in my playthrough of Dantooine, Vrook was wearing civilian's garb and the new twilek jedi had on a dancer's outfit (While her padawan had a robe on). Since these are both masters, I assume they should have on master's robes.
