  3. I know the textures have no effect on other mods; (it will replace any textures and .txi files with the same name, but nothing crashworthy) but I'll try to make sure the code and/or scripting is compatible if that's doable.
  4. Been making some good progress on the mod. FairStrides is unfortunately without internet until further notice, so as it stands, we'll need some coding and scripting to get the .tga's to time properly and/or allow more advanced features such as dynamic time progression in cells and time-based sound effects. -Bead-V, at this point, we need code that makes the areas store what frame was last played before and start it when the area loads. (It was discussed a few posts up) I am totally without a clue as to how to do this, or even if it's possible, but it's the next big thing that needs to be done, and I would really appreciate any assistance if you can do it.- I am still working as hard as I can on the texture generation as of late, but I have a small problem that requires the input of the community; Are the texture dimensions 3072x2048 too large for the game engine to handle? My computer seems to be having difficulty processing it, but I need to know to be sure. Basically if this is the case, I'll have to downgrade from 24 hours (24 frames) to 12. (or lower if need be :|) I have progress screenshots, but the DS image uploader doesn't seem to be working for me. They are instead posted on the LF thread until I can get image uploading to work for me (Does error code #10779 that keeps popping up when I try to upload them to my gallery mean this?) Anyway, here's the link to the screenshots Lucasforums Post Unfortunately I can only make textures, so I really need help to make this mod actually happen. (Well, it could just be animated textures, but I know it has the potential to be so much more if someone with the knowledge could lend me a hand. Heck, we could probably even make a weather system; you never know... )

  8. Good news everyone! I'm buying my graphic's card on Saturday. The next step in repairing my computer and getting back to modding.. Oh yeah.. and playing TSCLRM 1.8 Finally... and hopefully beta-testing some of you guys' mods. ... And playing Black Mesa Source...

      Well... the store didn't have it, so I shipped it. I should have it by Wednesday; and then I have to install and test it after that. But I will get it be working on getting it going this coming week regardless. (not to sound pessimistic or anything, of course. :D BTW, what do you want to script? we were tinkering on the timing animations and cell states. Did you want to try to make it keep the transitions consistent throughout the level? I can talk more via PM. There is much to discuss I...

  9. The KOTOR Tool will only let you view them, but it will also let you extract them to your computer. When you open them in an external editor, like Gimp or Photoshop, then you can edit the textures. Edit: Also when you save them in GIMP or Photoshop, make sure they are the same image format ".TGA" Also the edited texture .TGAs you make, need to be put into your override folder to take effect.   11. You have been quite busy, Sir. I would like to submit some planet shots, but I need to know: 1. What view do you want? Are you just talking about single shots that look good, or do you mean vast landscape shots? 2. Does it have to be Vanilla textures? Honestly I think "beauty" is a bit strong of a word for some of Kotor IIs backgrounds. Is it okay if I have some spruced-up textures, or are you going for the "authentic" look? 3. Also I guess, what file size? 4. Oh yeah, and when do you need them by? I am working over the end of this week and into next week to get my computer functional. (Obviously it isn't ATM) So is time an issue? ? ....Profit?

  13. As far as Force Powers, Holocrons traditionally would teach rare or forbidden techniques, so something along those lines would be appropriate. (I'm sure you'll be creative )
  14. Thank You Thank You THANK YOUUUU! Erm... I am really happy that this mod is able to see the light of day (on my computer anyway) and am grateful that you made it possible.
  15. Update: I'm just writing to let everyone know that the mod is not dead. Fairstrides is currently stuck offline and I'm without a means to play, let alone mod the game as a whole until I can buy a new card for my PC. Once I have the graphics card installed and working again, I will be working on the mod some more; making more skyboxes and refining animation timing. We already have a good test subject with the Dantooine skybox which has three transitions and a reasonable means to time each transitional change. Hopefully I can start to include more planets or proceed toward the full 24 frames for Dantooine soon. So, yeah, once I've got my PC back in working condition hopefully within the next few weeks, progress should be soon after. Features will have to be left at a minimum until Fairstrides is able to get online, (as I can't code...well) or if someone else in the community can help get all of the coding set up for more complicated things than animated textures (like setting up the slides so that they all start at the same time regardless of location, changing background music according to times of the day, and/or other advanced things like changing weather and moving the confounded sun away during the night cycle.)
  16. Incidentally is there anyone who is considering or working on making it compatible? It's one of my top favorite mods, and I wish it would work. (maybe just replace the model of carth rather than changing the .mod?; that's the extent of my knowledge on the subject ... )

  18. You know, while I like the cape as a design, I think the no-cape version is more "G0T0". Still it'd be a shame to go through all of the effort to rig it and not use it. I still think having an option would be a good idea. Indeed. Well, it would be interesting to see. Edit: Holy Crap! Where'd SHE come from?!

  20. I am really liking how this looks! The image with Mandalore to the side illustrates something incredible (to me at least): You have created an entirely new character that looks like he can hold his own against Canderous now in both wit and physical strength. The cape is fine as an option, but I do like how it gives an otherwise larger HK its own personality. (especially the tattered one) You gave him an entirely new dimension just with the visuals, and I will certainly be using him in the party more often. (Which means at least once) Bottom line, I never saw how a floating jet-black disco ball (with a needle) was the least bit intimidating, let alone worthy of the witticisms and death-threats G0T0 would regularly deliver. I say well done! PS: It'd also be cool to see some videos where he says his usual threats in conversation while looking like he could actually do something just to show the contrast from his old self. Maybe his words will have more significance now. Edit: Also the glowing vibroblades are a nice touch
  21. Sir, I must respectfully disagree. I liked Truce at Bakura (not only because I read it after playing Jedi Academy and being curious about the name), though it was slow to start, I particularly liked how it turned out. I mean, c'mon, Luke and the heroes from the OT battling spacefaring dinosaurs that cyberize people and use them to conquer the universe?! How could you hate that? Seriously though. Hold on. If you're going to include Outbound Flight, you have to include Zahn's other works such as the those with the Hand of Judgement and his pre/sequel to Outbound Flight with Luke and Mara. Heck, some of Zahn's other works are just as good or at least on-par with his Thrawn Duology/Trilogy I'm finding out.
  22. Well, while I do agree with the reasoning that the Malachor V ending mod was kind of swept under the proverbial rug, I don't think that rushing VP will help with the project any. Normally the kind of work that a restoration like that requires pushes the bounds of the engine and requires intricate coding knowledge as well as experience. However, if indeed the Malachor Ending Mod is in danger of going extinct, a mild suggestion to the modder or other modders like SH via PM would be more ideal rather than a forthright call to arms with the tagline "MAKE SURE THIS MOD DOESN'T GO EXTINCT!" You also have to remember that mods are done on a completely VOLUNTARY basis and subject to the the modder's schedule. That means that if you hear nothing about a mod for a week, that doesn't mean the mod is dead or in danger of being dead; it's the year-long hiatuses that you have to watch out for. Also no need to insult the Man :] Edit: Also SH, why did you lock the Malachor VI Ending Mod thread? Even if anyone wanted to give a progress update, they can't. If it was for spam, you could just delete them, right?
  23. I also think that you should keep with a droid head, so as to keep G0-T0 a droid and not cyborg . He needs to look mysterious and more or less threatening, and I don't think that would be achieved IMHO. Also, G0-T0 wouldn't flaunt his identity to every passerby like that. He is always "away" from his robot body to keep enemies guessing. As far as a design, I was kind of thinking a custom type of head pattern similar to the stormtrooper visor or sith droid head would look good. Sort of like with red photoreceptors (eyes) in that shape on top of the black. [My own opinion] However, I think that it might look better if you refrain from making the torso have a large midsection and instead have a more muscular or reinforced one. It might make HK's comment seem more ironic (larger can be construed as fatter) and genuinely stemming from jealousy. [/My own opinion] In regards to your texture being to low res, is the head texture separate from the rest of the body? Otherwise, you will have to make the entire texture file larger altogether to increase the resolution.
