I'm having difficulty getting this mod to work, I can import the hilts using the KSE, but they don't appear in game in cutscenes?

All I have is TSLRCM and M478EP (i've used the compatibility patch) and a couple of cutscene fixes. I've tried to deliberately keep a more barebones experience. Is it installing to the wrong place? (using the Steam version and selecting the Program Files(x86) root to install it too.

Any help would be appreciated - i've got it to work before, I just can't remember what I did

With Steam version of KotOR2 you absolutely have to use the LegacyPC version and install TSLRCM and M4-78 DL's from here on DS, installing them to ProgramFiles(x86)/Steam/common/KotOR2...

    No workshops may be used.

Then install SLM and M4 patch.

  2. You would in fact have to merge the workbench dialog files, with the script from workbench attunement mod, using the dlg editor.

Meaning opening up SLM's workbench .dlg and inserting new nodes from scratch into the main body of the dialog.

Copy and pasting the nodes and any checks and script from workbench attunement mod into SLM's.

One day I should do that myself but no time.

  3. I am actually switching Bao-Dur’s ElectroMesh Armor to be a reskin of Jamoah Hogras armor which will just be Bao-Dur’s Liberator/Oppressors armor...i lost the template for the electromesh armor reskin from back then. Haven’t gotten to it yet but it’d match (well, lightside anyway) his SLM Liberator lightsaber 😜

Dont know how any of that will fit in with your idea but just to let you know😉

SLM is going to take up all my time for a bit

  4. So in case anyone was wondering, I AM working on a new SLM.

    SLM 2020

Been working with and learning from Crazy34 on these new blade models with ambient lighting or glow. Which means new blade cores and planes that look spectacular, that sit gloriously atop my SLM and Default Replacement hilt models.

Already replaced some hilt models in SLM and  would like to get GMax again to be able to model brand new hilts that don't have all those damn vertical vader grips.

In fact I plan to remove a lot of those.

In addition I've already expanded the workbench dialog to be able to break down or "disassemble" every single type of lightsaber in the game so you can get the crystals back out of the lightsaber and build whatever hilt you want from SLM.

Oh, it'll be awhile...I only just was able to get the single saber portion of the default hilts done with the new blades....

    More to come.

  5. So I've been trying forever to remember how to switch models on any given lightsaber and I know I'm doing this correctly but there is a problem...

I'm trying to switch a model that Crazy34 sent me that has his new 3D blade core model and ambient lighting effect with another hilt model of mine ( blue default replacement hilt ).

    I get this...

    mdlops_problems.thumb.jpg.74a763a15d1604a54e9753216fadd8c2.jpg

So I am assuming it can't be done with all the extra textures and such that are in his model.

If i put the new binary mdl in my override it'll crash. Also i just noticed that MDLOps dosen't go through the whole reading faces/vertices thing it used to, that may well be my computer about to die one me.

I'm about to give up and say it cant be done. I'm stuck with the few saber models he rigged with his new glowy ambient lighting model.

No idea what to do except try to find GMax to download so i can try to rig it up the OLD way.

  6. No I didn't mention them to anyone, I just figured that everybody probably already knew about them.

I literally just went poking around Bao-Dur's GBL folder and started listening to every single sound clip.

I came across those and realized they weren't used and started coming up with how I was going to use them.

  7. So wait,..these are new blade models?? Or textures?

    Or,...wait what is this?!?

Man, I've been working on blade textures for 2 weeks since I was able to get Photoshop CS6.

Cause let's face it, my saber blades sucked.

Been diligently reducing opacity in the glows and reducing the sizes to try to get it down to barely anything. Like how I'm picturing The Mandalorian's Ahsoka blades to look like.

    -All beam and little glow.

  8. ok hold on. All you should need to do is take the .uti's for the quest saber (single bladed, there are no hikari short or double bladed) and put in model variation 120-129.

The Hikari models are 120-129 so just put those model numbers in the .uti files for the quest sabers. Shouldn't need to mess with tags or templates. Sorry for being confusing I haven't done this in a loooong time.

  9. Mmmmm no.

I would use kotor tool or kgff to manually switch the model numbers in the .UTI files.

so all the hikari sabers have 100-109 as their model numbers.

then change the quest sabers to have the hikari numbers 120-129

then there's the crystals...if need be.

Oh...then find the textures for both and rename them the opposites of each other.

Hi Kaidon Jorn I was wondering what file is the player named lightsaber hilt so I can swap the models for the Hikari and the named hilt.

You could just build yourself an Hikari if you want.

    But if not..

    tag and template= quest_sbr_100-109

                                     quest_dbl_100-109

which point to models 100-109 single and double bladed.

  11. Ok.

Officially - anyone can do whatever they want with my mods - any of them, from here on Deadlystream or anywhere else. That now officially includes SotOR as well.  (SH, I think I originally told you to remove it because I intended to fix and change it, then reupload it, but never got around to it.)

More importantly, I think though, is that anyone can do whatever they need to do with my mods. Which would have more to do with scripting since there might be a compatibility issue or even a simple mistake on my part.

Now that I think back on it, I never really got the original saber quest in KotOR scripted correctly (not for a lack of trying), or maybe I did. I really don't remember now. So if someone had the will and the knowledge to fix that and reupload that'd be cool too.

Also, would anyone be interested in the original source code for many of my mods?

I got a big folder with your name on it.

Alright, I'm off to play TOR,...toodles.

  12. TOR Saber Mod (TSM)

Authors: Kaidon Jorn & (Darth) Deadman
    This Version: April 2012
    ===================================
This saber mod now consists of 18 hilts - each in 10 colors, all of which are buildable on the workbench. The first set of 6 hilt styles are available to build as you are building your first saber with the vanilla saber quest. Then, once you've leveled up with an Advanced Class, there will be 12 more hilt style options. Some of these hilt models are leftovers from the HotOR Lightsaber mod, which fell upon hard times and was unable and unwilling to continue - but alas! A new lightsaber mod has risen from it's ashes, and most of the hilts were modeled based on TOR sabers.
The vanilla game dialogs about Bao-Dur helping you build your saber have been removed, since you build it yourself on the workbench using any default game crystal. As well, the vanilla game's Lightsaber Quest journal entries have been modified to go with this saber quest better.
Once you have built a new lightsaber, the crystal will change into the specific crystal for that lightsaber, so once you commit to a new lightsaber style, it's crystal is bound to that saber hilt. Also, the training sabers now do 1-10 damage, still with their +3/+4 energy field damages, to try and make them more worthwhile to use. Two new models have been included for the purple and yellow training sabers.
You must run the TSL Patcher to fully install (aside from the lightsabers, copying files to Override folder will *not* work).
    Compatible with TSLRCM 1.7/1.8.
Compatible with everything that dosen't use the same lightsaber model numbers. *This excludes HotOR and USM from being compatible.
Compatible with Default Replacement MegaPack 4.1 or better.
Compatible with Workbench Crystal Attunement Mod.
    Compatible with RandomSabers 6 Pack.
Credits: -Darth_Deadman, for finishing off the training sabers and making them powered items that turn on and off like a lightsaber. Thanks Deadman!

Thanks to Markus Ramikin, Varsity Puppet, Hassat Hunter for the Workbench Crystal Attunement mod.

Bugs: None that I know of, if you get one then report it and I will see what I can do.

PERMISSIONS: You may not use my intellectual property, work or materials for your own mod without asking me or collaborating with me. You may not upload my mods to other sites PERIOD. END OF STORY.

  13. Im a bit confused, you said you could use the schematics or no?

If you made your personal lightsaber with Bao-Dur then you should be able to click on the schematic to learn it, then go to the workbench and that lightsaber would then show up as buildable as long as you have a color crystal with you.

If you dont have a force power called 'learn schematic" then you wont be able to build the sabers. That other mod you had may have messed things up for good.

Honestly its been so long since I even messed around with any of that that i cant remember what is what.

I dont mod anymore and dont play kotor anymore..

  14. Interesting, they have taken down much of the content on gamesfront since the last time I looked. Its almost not worth looking at now.

[Mod Note: Posts merged, as per rule 8 section 2 of the Site Rules... Please keep this in mind for the future.]

I'd ask Kainzorus Prime or Qui-Don Jorn if they still have the edited blue interface mod as they both took interest in it when it was released.

I do not have it anymore, and as to where to download I have no idea. I did actually try to find it and re download it some months ago but no luck.
