DEFAULT REPLACEMENT HILTS MEGAPACK 8.1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
by Kaidon Jorn

This mod will replace the default lightsaber hilt models in KotOR 2:The Sith Lords.
Should be compatible with TSLRCM 1.8.4 and beyond.
This version omits the animated blade textures from the main mod but they are still offered as an option (copy and pate tga's and txi's into Override and let overwrite if necessary).
It also comes with a new(er) model for the cyan double-bladed hilt, and alot of the icons have been remade. Other than that, I changed every hilt texture's name and hex edited them into the original models. Also, this mod is now set to replace file on every installation. This should be the last one I need to do, but you never know.

I was enjoying this mod until I decided to make an orange saber. The blade doesn't display for orange, just a mass of white 2d planes. I tried to fix it myself but couldn't figure it out.

You need to grab the 6.0 version of this mod and use the blade tga's and txi's that are included with it.

That should fix the problem.

What happened is, I changed the orange model to use w_lsabreoran01.tga and my new gold model probably overwrote your orange blade texture. So orange hilt no longer uses w_lsabregold01.tga, because that is now used for the gold bladed hilt.

Make sense?

It doesn't make whatsoever as to how to get version 6.0 as it is not listed in the file section. ;)

There are also some files in the backup folder that I suppose should be generated after installation of your mod. May be the part of testing this mod.

As I understand, version 6.0 has blade color textures?

Can we hope for version 8.0 that has all the needed files in one place?

Mod is fantastic. Makes every light saber unique as the characters that wield it. Great work! :D

From the quality of the hilts to the saber blades, everything was done perfectly. Good job Kaidon Jorn and thank you for your years of dedication to modding both KOTORs.

Hey..when I tried this mod, I tried copying over 8.0 with 8.1..I even tried 6.0 > 8.0 > 8.1 but the sabers always seem to be silver instead of textured..

I think (can't tell because its small) when you 'upgrade' your sabers, the model on the bench IS textured...what am I doing wrong? :(

Not that I'm trying to cause a ruckus, but on the Ebon Hawk, at certain points the hilt will have its texture, and at other points, it will not. For example, when I move the camera one way, it will have the grips and lines present, and when I move it again, it will have the model, but no texture. Is this having to do with the update to the game itself?

I recently just checked, the update to the game does create the issue I was having. Problem solved.

Hopefully the author of this mod will be able to fix the texture problem because this is to great not to.

I have the same problem with missing textures unfortunatly, using the latest version of TSL (through steam). Strangely enough the textures show up in the preview on the workbench, but not outside it.

I looked around in the forum a bit and Legacy-ZA had a workaround that seems to work for me, I'll quote it here:

Go to your SWKotOR II installation directory, open your "swkotor2.ini" scroll down to to the [Graphic Options] search for and find "DisableVertexBufferObjects=1" now; simply put spaces between each word so it looks like this "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1" If the line isn't there, just add it under [Graphic Options] at the end.

I should mention though that I get a lot of crashes with that change, and that the textures are missing even on the vanilla lightsabers, so it's not really related to this mod it seems.

Awesome MOD, but one problem tho, the texture of the hilts are only visible in certain areas, otherwise it's just plain silver with the awesome hilt design. Is there a way to fix this??
