JediArchivist Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Is there any tutorial on how to make a new transition area to a new module? I haven't found any such tutorial here or on lucasforums on archive.org... All i know so far is that i must record the XYZ coordinates of where i want the new transition area using the whereami console command, but i have no idea how to implement the transition area to the module. I want to insert the new transition area here on Lehon: Many thanks in advance! Quote
JCarter426 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 You need to add a trigger to the area's GIT file and have it linked to a waypoint in another module. Your best bet would be to find an existing transition in the area and copy what it's doing. 1 Quote
DarthParametric Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 You can also use doors as well. Either via script, if you want it to remain permanently closed, or the door itself can act as a transition trigger simply by passing through it. The K1 Dantooine Enclave module (danm13) is a good reference, since it has one of each. The transition to the Ebon Hawk uses a trigger, the transition to the Courtyard uses a door. Edit: Ah, I see you have updated your post. Your proposed transition would need to use a trigger. 1 Quote
JediArchivist Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 Thank You both very much for the help and great advice! I'll tinker around and see what i can come up with... @JCarter426 Could You please tell me exactly where can i find this GIT file? Ive been looking for an hour into Kotor Tool and could not find it anywhere... Excuse me, i'm a complete noob... Quote
JCarter426 Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 I'm not sure what module that is, but in KOTOR Tool it would be RIMs -> Modules -> whatever module it is, unk_something.rim (e.g unk_m41aa.rim) -> Dynamic Area Info. Quote
