One of the better fan films I've seen.

As far as a film, it hits every note beautifully. As a Star Wars property, it fits into existing Lore exquisitely.

 

Frankly this would have worked better as a prequel than anything produced after Return of the Jedi. (Not because it is better as a film, but that it brings the main themes of the Prequel Era: The Jedi are keepers of the peace, and both the Jedi and Sith are numerous immediately into the forefront) plus, it returns with fun effects callbacks to Original Trilogy with the Mynocks and training droid sequence.

Agreed. I think it would be interesting to see a "prequel" film that takes a similar tone.

 

Random thought: I wonder if it could be achieved through an extensive edit and combination of the prequel movies and any fan movies that fall in the prequel era....
