I changed my power but i cant switch power in combat, im stuck on Force Storm and cant change it, also in the character panel, when i click powers the only powers it shows i have is Burst of speed, which i do but many others as well. Force immunity (something i gave myself and didn't have before) works fine

I've tried with both 3.3.7a and 3.3.8 versions and even though I'm able to edit and save the changes on a KOTOR2 save, they don't apply when I load the save in the game. Does anyone know what's causing this problem?

I'm using the GOG version on Windows 7 x64.

I don't suppose there's a way to edit your companions' feats, is there?

Could not find saves directory for KotOR1

 

Hi,

I use version 3.3.8. KSE is installed outside of "Program Files" folder. With admin privileges error is same. Part of ini file:

[Paths]

K1_Path=C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars\xae Knights of the Old Republic\xae COLLECTION

K1_SavePath=C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars\xae Knights of the Old Republic\xae COLLECTION\saves

.....

Steam_Path=d:\igre\steam

All paths are correct ! I DON'T USE OVER STEAM because I bought game in store on original DVD. Game is installed in: C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars® Knights of the Old Republic® COLLECTION

In \saves is folders:

000001 - AUTOSAVE

000002 - Game1

Each folder contains few files.

The ini is looking for "xae Knights of the Old Republic\xae COLLECTION". Your game is not installed there. Change it to match your install path:

Help please, every time I hit the commit changes button I get the following error (copied and pasted from automatically generated  KSE_Errors.txt file):

Update on my situation, if anyone checks this: My computer seems to be auto-reapplying read only status to the SWKOTOR2 folder and everything in it as soon as I uncheck it and hit "apply" and "ok". Every time I check it it's read only again. Could this be the problem? I don't know, but because the error said it "could not open the file FOR WRITING" it seems reasonable that it might be the problem. If it is the problem, does anyone know a way to keep the computer from re-applying read only?

One thing you could try is running as Admin.

I did run as admin. However I found a solution. I moved the entire game to the documents folder, and save editor worked. Now to see if game can run from documents...

Hello!!

I know it's been a long while someone posted in this topic, but I'm playing this games again (heavily modded this time) and i was trying to download this tool from https://gitlab.com/kotorsge-team/kse/-/releases (the version here seems to be outdated), but every time i try to download the v3.3.8 (2019-12-12), the website gives me an XML error, with a code window saying something about "Access Denied"... I can only download v3.3.7e (2019-07-13).

Is it a website error, or we are not supposed to download that version?

I don't think you have the correct save file opened based on the character screen.

Also, as stated in the readme:

And I don't think that you actually bothered looking at all the pictures. Picture #3, which I will repost here, is the one that goes with those character screens. Picture #4 is of a couple different files that I made for testing. Please pay close attention to "Hit Points" and "Force Points" for both the PC and Atton, vs. the corresponding Max values.

I'm not trying to mess with the Max Hit Points value in the first place, I'm trying to find out what the Hit Points value (as in, the one not labeled Max) actually means. According to that very same readme, "Hit Points" is current hit points (at least, based on it saying you can edit both current and max HP). And yet, I don't think that can be the case.
Looking at the character screen pics and the relevant KSE view (reposted above), I at first thought I was dealing with a weird bug of HP and Force Points being stuck below their maximum despite the game (as seen in the character screens) showing them to be full; the Max values themselves match what's seen on the character screen. This was backed by getting a "Force Depleted" message whenever I tried to use Atton's powers, despite his Force meter being full.
But then I made a new character for testing purposes. I did two saves as them, one before leveling up and one after. I checked those saves in KSE, and that's when I got really confused.

The initial save shows a "Hit Points" value of zero. What even? That alone calls into question the idea of it being the character's current health.
So then I thought, maybe it's really how much additional HP you gained from leveling up. But the view of the post-levelup save shows a "Hit Points" value of 10 and a "Max Hit Points" value of 51, 13 higher than before leveling up. So that can't be it either, unless there's a constitution bonus that's not recorded in the gain.

Does that clarify my issue?

I think your issue is that you're needlessly antagonistic to people trying to help you.

But no, after testing it the Hit Points value is not current hit points. It's HP from previous Hit Dice.

Using your most recent pictures to explain, Guardians have a d10 Hit Die, so they get 10 HP a level from that. 10 (Hit Dice) + 3 (16 CON) + 25 (War Veteran feat) gives you the 38 shown for Max Hitpoints.

When you level up the game remembers you were a Guardian for one previous level and stores that 10 in the Hit Points slot. Since you're also Guardian for this level you get another 10 (Hit Dice) + 3 (16 CON) added to Max Hitpoints, giving 51.

TLDR: It's an artifact of how you can level in multiple classes, and is actually misleadingly named.

Thank you for the clarification. Does the same hold true for the Force Points value?

Presumably. Guardians have a d4 Force Die, so that would match up with the 4 in your screenshot.

Well, that answers that. And means the "Force Points: 6" I saw in KSE was a complete red herring wrt the problem I was having with Atton being Force-depleted with his Force points full.

I just downloaded the save editor to my new computer and tried to run the KPF.exe. Got an error:

"The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP120.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."

The error comes up 4 times. I tried re-downloading and same problem. Any fixes?
