Hassat Hunter 571 Posted March 25, 2015 Also posted this on Moddb, and though I think everyone here will now it, never-the-less. And it can become a discussion thread afterwards Or go to http://forums.obsidian.net/forum/87-pillars-of-eternity/ (more crowded though XD) About 17 hours after the making of this post, Pillars of Eternity, Obsidian's latest game, will be released! If you haven't heard about Pillars it's a spiritual sequel to Baldur's Gate (2), featuring complex teambased combat and adventuring on detailed isometric handpainted (and beautifully looking) 2D backgrounds. After Wastelands 2, Divinity:Original Sin and Shadowrun Returns it's another great RPG for RPG gamers like ourselves who have been on our thirst for so long. So definitely give it a look at Steam or GOG: http://store.steampowered.com/app/291650/ http://www.gog.com/game/pillars_of_eternity_hero_edition http://www.gog.com/game/pillars_of_eternity_champion_edition http://www.gog.com/game/pillars_of_eternity_royal_edition
Bas Qui-Xoi 6 Posted March 25, 2015 I'm waiting to see how its received before I commit to it. I've taken the no pre-order stand but am hopeful that it will be a resounding success.

zbyl2 811 Posted March 25, 2015 Really? 2014 was the year that kinda restored my faith in them. And also the year that I nearly stopped playing them due to bunch of other stuff.

Bas Qui-Xoi 6 Posted March 26, 2015 My faith isn't shaken per se, but what I will say is that there seems to be a general reluctance to take chances. The games that are coming out are more of the same ole hand holding, ripping control away from the players with uninterruptible cutscenes and my personal favorite quick time events. zbyl2 811 Posted March 26, 2015 Those are also things I dislike in games, which is why I enjoyed the whole kickstarter craze so much over last couple of years. It gives developers a chance to do something else. Wish I still had time to play games Yeah According to steam, I haven't played any games since November I'll make time for Eternity though. Mostly because it's Obsidian.
Bas Qui-Xoi 6 Posted March 26, 2015 Ya kickstarters are great as long as the people don't walk off with the money. I read recently where some guy that began a kickstarter ran off with a 100k or something like that.

Hassat Hunter 571 Posted April 26, 2015 90 hours for my first playthrough... Oh how long ago I played a RPG for so long.
Fair Strides 510 Posted April 26, 2015 90 hours for my first playthrough... Oh how long ago I played a RPG for so long. Now I'm REALLY wishing I had a PC that could run it... I'm just such an action-adventure RPG-er at heart...
Vriff 21 Posted April 26, 2015 Is it more interesting than Divinity: OS? That game lost me about 10 hours in.
Bas Qui-Xoi 6 Posted April 28, 2015 A good game but sadly there was drama attached to it. "gasp" someone was offended by something in the game and storm of biblical proportions ensued.
Hassat Hunter 571 Posted April 29, 2015 Yeah, the saddest thing is pretty much zero people read what those people read in it, and even the supposedly "offended" group of people all where pretty much fine with it and found it funny too... :/ Stupid damn people. Dark_Ansem 12 Posted May 22, 2015 It is a good game, but nowhere as good as I hoped, unfortunately.
