Guys we're going to have to cut the demo down a bit in order to release it next week. There will not be any of the Endar Spire cut content now. Don't worry you're not missing much. Here's the exact Endar Spire content. end_bridgeseal.dlg which says "[This door has been damaged and will not open.]" and end_comp01.dlg which says "SYSTEM LOADING... COMPLETE" "MAINTENANCE DROID ALERTED... LOGGING OFF" "SYSTEM LOADING... COMPLETE ENTER COMMAND" "Slice the computer. (1 spike)" "SYSTEM OVERRIDE ACCEPTED ENTER COMMAND" "[Computer] Call for maintenance droid to repair damaged door." "EXITING SYSTEM..." "[FAILURE] ACCESS DENIED INSUFFICIENT SPIKES ENTER COMMAND" "Log out" So yeah don't worry it's a very small trimming of the demo. The content was causing problems with existing content.

We will be giving you.... 1. Impossible Difficulty (which is going to make that download obsolete). 2. The cut Endar Spire content with the exception of the Trask Soundset. 3. Carth telling the PC to go back to sleep while the PC's injuries heal on Taris. (thank Zbyl for that one, plus other Taris fixes by Zbyl as well that he gave us permission to use) 4. The option for male PC to talk to Yungenda in the Taris Cantina along with the Sarna option for female PC. 5. The Sith Passcard to enter the Sith Base early along with some restored dialog in the Sith Base as well as the ability to find the Rakghoul Serum within the base. 6. The Zaerdra Dialog involving the prototype engine accelerator shortly before the race. 7. Some cut droid items for you to play with at Janice Nall's shop. 8. A restored Lower City. 9. A restored Under City. 10. The restored and greatly enhanced Black Vulkar Base. 11. Shuma the Hutt. 12. Garrum and Tareelok (thanks to Seamhiann for allowing us to use it) 13. The Iraiz fix on Dantooine (which Seamhiann also allowed us to use) 14. The Indecent Proposal to Shen or Rahashia 15. Various small surprises I don't wish to spoil

There's nothing that can be done without a) forcing the game to be more difficult via making the PC gain less exp or going out of what is allowed within the bounds of modding within the KotOR community I won't do A for those who don't wish for the game to be any harder for them and I won't do B as I want to able to release the mod here when it is finished. Besides I believe there is already a standalone mod for A.

As some of you may know I started K1R in late 2010 in secret. This project has gotten a lot further since it's initial inception. It is now by my estimation 50% complete content wise and I am very happy with what we accomplished together. So I ask the team and the Deadly Stream community should we give everyone a bigger taste of K1R than just "Impossible Difficulty"? Should we release a demo? We could do this almost immediately too we do have enough content for it to be Demo worthy. The only content we would need is the majority of Taris (not all we could hold back somewhat on the content), the Endar Spire, and some of Dantoinee. I wanted to see what everyone thought both on the team and within the community before I went ahead with this.

Well I had originally planned a demo but, that may not be necessary with K1R 1.0 being 50% complete (content wise) from my estimation. Yes Juhani's cut dialog will be included. If we do ultimately decide to go ahead with a demo though then know it will only be Endar Spire, Taris, and Dantooine.

We certainly would like to restore it in the next version. This version is a definite no-go for Sleheyron though. Don't worry there will be plenty of content in 1.0 so it'll all be good.

The TSLRCM team hasn't given a release date for 1.8 nor do I believe one will be given.

I don't think it will as it got a huge boost from it's predecessors and add to the fact this project has restored some content the restorations that came before it did not while also restoring content that back then nobody knew existed. I was very honored that the project's predecessors (particularly Seamhiann) were so willing to give us a boost to give us a chance to carry on their legacy. I still contact Seam sometimes to let him know of some exciting developments as him being one of the original people who was restoring content for K1 I have a ton of respect for him. We shall do our best to give everyone the best K1 experience possible and to finish what our predecessors started.

Not really. I just wanted to respond with a internet meme. I do that sometimes. Anyway if you want a compromise to allow your game to have cut content but, only content that doesn't contradict the final game and is just pure restored content then your option is to vote for NewGamePlus as moving the alternative scenarios and custom content to NewGamePlus would still allow that to exist but, you would only see it if you play NewGamePlus. So since I assume you would not play NewGamePlus installing BOS probably wouldn't hurt anything with a normal non NG+ game. -

Yeah I lol'd myself when I noticed it but, I'm not superstitious so yeah but, if it makes you feel better it could be changed to K1RIMP. Yeah you are absolutely correct that K1 was not a broken game like TSL and I'm glad you understand my point whenever I say that for some of the cut content to make sense you need custom content like for example without a persuade option to persuade Bastila to go to Korriban how would it make sense in context of the final game. If we had just purely restored content that made sense with the final game then this mod would be nearly done. I'm not joking that is how little of K1's cut content fits perfectly into the final version. A lot of K1's cut content either almost fits but, not quite or has very little leftover, or needs other workarounds to fit. So you get where I'm coming from. -

Attention Deadly Stream K1R is receiving a name change. It is now known as the KotOR1 Restoration & Improvement Project. Why the sudden name change? Well as Sith Holocron pointed out to me the mod isn't pure restoration and thus the name change is appropriate. The reason K1RIP has custom content in the first place is to restore things that barely have any data left like the Czerka Offices on Korriban and to restore things that no longer make sense with the final version. Now we have 2 ways to go about the custom content/alternative scenarios and I would like the community to vote on it. 1. We can go with original plans and just use custom content to integrate it all into the game. or 2. We can go with NewGame+ (if possible to script) so that that way those who want only pure restoration will just have to avoid NG+ Please vote and make your voice heard. Thanks. -ZM90

Now SH we don't really add too much custom content normally only things that are necessary for the restored stuff to work with final game (with the exception for "custom content" that is based on developer statements like "Return to Dantoinee"). I'll give you a example. Okay so for Bastila on Korriban all that was done was I added a option to persuade Bastila and if the PC is successful it unlocks the content for Bastila to go to Korriban and both (Success) and (Failure) are merely lines she uses in the final game. So the only custom content which was added in said case was the persuade option by the PC. So the custom content's main purpose is to make sure something can be restored to make sense with the final game. That right there is my main argument, and while some people may be uncomfortable with a bit of custom content here and there it is ultimately better as it ultimately brings more cut content back. Think of K1R as something in between TSLRCM and something like M4-78 EP. Like M4-78 EP we will add custom content to preserve cut content but, unlike M4-78 EP we won't be adding sidequests based on absolutely nothing official. While return to Dantoinee for example may be considered custom content it will be based on something official at least (developer statements). So actually I'd call it a "restoration at all cost except by sacrificing already existing content even if that means a bit of custom content mod" but, that name is too cumbersome now isn't it? If we restored some of the content without any custom content it would force us to cut content from the final game and I don't think anyone wants that but, everyone wants as much content as possible restored. We will be sure to integrate what custom content there is seamlessly into the game so that it will be very hard to tell for those who haven't completely researched it "hmm is this restoration with a bit of custom content or pure restoration".

I'd say most of it hell we even have plans to restore things that normally do not make sense in the context of the final game (one thing we already have restored for example that doesn't normally make sense in the final game is Bastila on Korriban). As for how those pieces of content play out while at the same time working with the final game well we have to add a bit of content here and there to make it happen. K1R doesn't care if it has to add a bit of original content to bring something back that doesn't normally make sense mainly due to the fact if we don't well there wouldn't be as much cut content for people to enjoy in K1R.
