  1. Yeah, AI in both games is sometimes a pain. Specially in 2 when they started considering AI flaws a game characteristic, with all the minefields.
  2. Can you go back at kotor filefront on the wayback machine?
  3. I'll hate to say it, but when thousands of mods are in danger of being lost forever, you cannot take the luxury of asking each one of the many modders that made them. Think about how many mods were in danger of being lost forever, if saving them meant to break the permissions of authors, then so be it, it'd be a nightmare to contact all authors, since they archived firefront in general, not just a easily contactable sector. Of course, if the modder himself comes and asks for the mod rights, they should allow it, but otherwise, the modder might be MIA and his work could be lost forever, and that is something that should be avoided at all costs. Is it theft? Perhaps, but it's a necessary thing to do for a greater good to be gained, and allow other mods to survive, the modders here are just a small section of those on filefront, but I'd bet that most modders that uploaded something to filefront aren't around anymore, and that means that, if lucky, only a 40% of mods could be kept.
  4. The ship.mod bug can be fixed through making a "modules" folder on backup, however, I am also having the alienchatting.dlg bug, it doesn't seem to be in the files

I know it's silly, but I would like a mod that adds Luke Skywalker's face to Kotor 2.
  6. Why would Steam care? Because you're breaking their law, that's why, and no matter how much you waste, unless you are someone rich, the money you waste doesn't matter. Also, he helped make the most important mod on the history of the knights of the old republic, one of the flagship and most popular mods on gaming, therefore he does have a certain importance anyway. And again, by breaking Steam's rules, aka, their law, you are taking their authority away, and that's something bigger than money.
  7. No, it's not that there is some law against this, it's that steam itself has rules against this, therefore, the mod HAS to be taken off workshop.
  8. Not only does fair use do that, but also, that is only part of the US law, and US law isn't the whole world's law (As much as some would argue otherwise)
  9. *You* would not be bothered, however, the real author of the mod is complaining about it, yet he is being bothered, therefore D. Representations and Warranties ...In particular, with respect to Workshop Contributions, you represent and warrant that the Workshop Contribution was originally created by you (or, with respect to a Workshop Contribution to which others contributed besides you, by you and the other contributors, and in such case that you have the right to submit such Workshop Contribution on behalf of those other contributors)... Yep, he should withdraw the mod
  10. Not when it's agaist the rules On the case of Steam, it is against the rules, on the case of this forum, it also is against the rules, that's what this discussion is about.
  11. There are some that are, mostly those obscure mods from kotorfiles that never were popular, and the author is not well known enough to manage to track him/her down.
  12. Even more, it's a different case, what I'm talking about is when a mod is on danger of truly being lost, the mods on the workshop aren't endangered, hell, they are on this site avaible to download, and you can contact the original modders to ask for authorization on this case (As seen with Hassat asking for it to be down).
  13. So basically, one has to do a site called "Thepreserver.com" or something like that, and add all mods that are on danger of being lost there until the creator communicates with them?
  14. Well, at the very least (I) understood it, and (I'm) trying to figure what would the best choice be on the particular case (I'm) talking of. I cannot speak for anyone else on this thread.
  15. I think that it was understood on the first place, I'm trying to figure the logic on the case I described, but it was clear from the start that the site's stance.
