About This File

This mod modifies spells .2da in order to let you use all force powers with heavy armors and the such. It is designed to be usable with force power mods such as TSLFFM and HLFP 2.0, altough its focus is on permitting vanilla force powers to work with armor, not any others.

People may say this ruins the balance of the game, but I say who cares?! And really, that only works in a non-SW sense. If armor actually restricted one's ability to use the Force, how is Darth Vader, who's so much machine, able to do all that he does? Or in KotOR 1, you battle Darth Bandon who uses all these supposedly restricted by armor Force powers, then when you defeat him and take his armor, you somehow aren't able to use the exact same powers he was using not a minute earlier!

This mod was AWESOME!!! There are only so many times you can wear the unrestricting Jedi robes or the Jal Shey armor before it get's boring. How nice it was to be able to use the Force while wearing awesome looking armor! :D

Thank you for the review, VP!

By the way, even though it is not unique, it is certainly the 1st one using TSL patcher to patch the spells.2da... thus allowing compatibility with most mod if installed afterwards.

So because it mods the spells.2da with the patcher, it doesn't undo any changes to the spells.2da file made by TSLCRM?

It is most likely TSLRCM Compatible because it patches the existing file. Plus, it only modifies a few certain rows in the Spells.2DA. Rows that others don't touch.

Could you please post install info for this mod?  I'm guessing its a copy and replace the files deal but I'm new to installing and running mods so I just want to make sure.  Thanks.

From the installlog:

 • Installation started 2013-08-25 10:05:44...

 • Modifying file "spells.2da" found in Override folder...

 • Updated 2DA file C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\override\spells.2da.

 • Done. All changes have been applied.

Basically, all powers within spells.2da have had their condition modified to work with heavy armors.

This one won't work for me. No errors while downloading, but it still restricts powers. I've tried wearing light and heavy armor.

Huh, sorry to hear that. Do you have any other mods that might modify spells.2da? I think my mod is outdated and no longer compatible with the new version of TSL RCM...

Hey it says everything is installed properly but once I'm in game it just wont seem to work. I'm new to mods on Kotor so I'm sure it is something wrong on my end. Any ideas as to what it is?

So perhaps I'm being silly but I am assuming that it unlocks the restrictions for all armor types light medium and heavy.  Perhaps I'm installing it incorrectly but after I run the process it only accepts the install if I select the main kotor2 folder and not the kotor2 override folder.  It is not downloading for me so what am I missing?

The mod works. All it does is it changes the forbiditemmask field in the spells.2da file to be 0x0000. The installer will install the file to the override folder. As such it should be installed last to avoid other mods overwriting the change. Also, if you have the steam version, make sure that none of your workshop mods have the spells.2da file in them. As the workshop mods seem to overrule the mods in your default override folder. Or you could just make changes to that mods spell.2da file.
