About This File

The mood was upon me . . .

Here's my second small mod.

Texture for Atris' Sith Holocrons
========================================

MOD AUTHOR: Sith Holocron
ORIGINAL RELEASE: 19 JAN 2013
UPDATED RELEASE: 17 JUL 2014
UPDATED RELEASE: 28 FEB 2018

GAMES: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords

Description:
------------
Being a stickler for detail, I always been irked about how the Sith Holocrons were represented in Atris' Holocron Chamber in her Secret Academy.

I decided to do something about it.

Installation:
-------------
There are two versions of the holocron now: the original version and the unreleased-until-now animated version. Each version has its own folder. Choose your version's folder and put the 2 files in it into your Override folder. For Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 - Extract the TGA file into the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic/Override folder.

Uninstallation:
-------------

Take it out again.

Known Bugs:
-------------

None known at this time.

Released

  • 1.2: Apparently, the text on the base of the holocron was backwards. I've corrected that and also filled in one of the letters that shouldn't have been that way. Updated permissions.

Yes, it's compatible KotorHDTVchannel.

I have replied your answer from my profile to your profile ( if you haven't checked there, which I doubt it lol ).

Thanks again!

There might be something additional be done with this. I'll keep you all informed of the details. I would like to hear more input though on the question.

It actually took sometime for me to realize what the holocrons were in that room, now its clear, well played.

most interesting distinctive touch to the holocrons no doubt ... adds more "life" to that room ... and of course the red with black background goes well with the Sith.

oh my ... that heartbeat glow is a must-have for this ...  ;)

and will come with another surprise? what could it be ...???

thx a lot ... once again ...

Let me know if it lives up to what you were hoping for, GNhilus2 and Dark_Ansem!

yup. Worked like a charm ... just switched installations just to try this ...

all 9 "flickers" happen within a second and a half or maybe within 2 seconds FYI ... maybe that "texture" switching timing would change slightly according to CPU/GPU speed, SH??

sorry, no time to upload a video of this ... and no point in uploading screenies eh?

thx a lot for the improvement, that chamber is more alive in line with those tainted holocrons now  ;)

I admit I did not notice as strongly as GNihilus2, but a bit slower "pulsing" could improve the experience.

If DA agrees about the speed, I'll change the package. If not, I'll rework the TXI just for you.

oh I had totally forgotten that "renaming trick" ... thx for recalling it for me ...  :)

well, fps 2 also seems to work fine as well as 1 ... can decimals be set for this fps setting, SH?

you might release 3 different pulse speeds to fully satisfy anyone's pleasure/liking?  ;)

Offer three different pulse speeds? You ARE funny.

I have to agree, the modification is extremely easy to make :P

But if you don't know, other readers - here's what you do . . .

Change the extension of the included TXI to TXT and then open it up in Wordpad. line for speed is under fps - "frames per second" was "1" You aren't limited to whole number. Yes, you can use decimals. Just remember to turn the extension back to TXI before you put it back into your Override folder.
