You need to put the files from the patch into the M4-78 EP archive before you install that mod. So you replace some of the files you downloaded for M4-78EP.

The patch doesn't work with the Steam workshop version of M4-78EP.

That's possibly because it went in the wrong folder.  According to another user, who uses the Steam version,  either the temple mod or the compatibility fix (not quite sure which or both?) has to go in the RCM folder.  Problem is, I don't know which subfolder that folder is in.

Well, if that is true then the other alternative is to use M4-78 from Deadly Stream/Nexus instead, except...........wait for it, M4-78 from those sites installs using the TSL Patcher which doesn't work with the Steam version of the Kotor games, because the Steam versions don't install the appropriate registry entries that the patcher requires!

TSLPatcher works fine for all versions of the game. It will prompt you to browse for the game's folder if it can't find it, but most modern mods don't even set automatic game folder lookup anyway. What you can't do is use the Workshop for the Steam version of TSL. As long as you don't do that, you'll be fine. TSLRCM doesn't use TSLPatcher at all anyway, so that's moot. Neither does M4-78 as I recall.
