Do mods exist for...

Recommended Posts

1. Is there a mod that changes the dark jedi's you meet (That wear the grey/black hooded robes) to give them regular dark jedi robes and random head models/genders. I just played through a sith run again after not playing for awhile and I used a new mod to change the 3 apprentices on the star forge into more unique individuals. It was a small change but really added a feel of importance to that fight (Big thanks to whoever created that mod). It got me wondering if for my next play through, I could find a mod that does that for all generic dark jedis, to make them feel more meaningful than faceless fodder.

2. Is there a mod to increase the difficulty of dark jedi's?

Sorry if this is the wrong place or if this stuff is easily findable and I am just overlooking it. I've tried searching a couple of mod sites and googling it, but all i find is mods that revolve around the dark jedi robes themselves, like reskins and stat changes, but not what im personally looking for.

Thanks

First off: Welcome to Deadlystream Forums!

For your second question, there are difficulty mods. My favorite difficulty mod is http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/874-k1-and-tsl-difficulty-options/ by Darth Shan.

ShemL did a Sith Robes mod for Korriban Sith Students >http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/692-robes-for-korriban-sith-students/

That adds some level of detail/varity to Sith on Korriban, but that's not quite the mod you are looking for.

There's one for TSL, by Varsity Puppet, that does something similar on Malachor >http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/11-trayus-rank-reform/

But you are looking at K1...so I digress.

The issue with the Dark Jedi is that they are a full body model, i.e. the head is integrated into the body model, not separate like with players and most NPCs. Additionally, the hood/head can't simply be removed because that leaves a giant hole in the upper torso. You can scoop out the face mesh and slot in a regular head (with a bit of tweaking to the hood to hide any gaps), but animation sync issues mean you'd have to create each variation as a full body model. It's not a case of something as simple as a few appearance.2da edits, which is presumably why we are not overburdened with examples of such mods.

Edit: Here's a proof of concept of a head swap. They are still all clones because it was a quick and dirty override, but you get the idea.

He asked for them to wear the standard robes anyway, so I guess it wouldn't actually be too hard to do except for the fact that there aren't really that many heads to use.

Whoops, missed that part. In that case, it's just a matter of adding unique appearance.2da rows and patching the relevant UTIs in each module to point to them. But yeah, the pool of available heads is pretty small. That's probably part of why Bioware went with the masked approach in the first place.

Another possibility might be using the Dark Jedi body in combo with some of the full face masks to mix things up a bit.

Hi, Thanks for all the responses.

I will definitely give this a try ty.

I have some time off work and nothing better to do so i'm going through kotor 1 and 2, light and dark, so I will get some use out this mod thanks for the suggestion. As for the sith academy mod I did find that one while searching for the dark jedi mod and have it installed for this run.

I am not a modder myself but I thought it would be straight forward if you know the basics (which i don't lol). When I played against the 3 apprentices on the star forge, two were wearing black jedi robes (i use the k1 prequel robes mod) and one had black armor with glowing symbols on the chest plate, which made him stand out as the stronger of the three. I just found myself wondering who they were and what they were doing up until fighting me etc... during the cutscene. Of course i know they are pixels and weren't doing anything but I like how a simple costume change and some details could pull me into the world so much more. They died pretty easily though, everyone dies easily when i hit late game and have my maxed out powers and gear, hence the additional request for a sith difficulty increase.

That would be pretty cool actually, It would make the ones with faces/names, stand out alot more. I've already started my playthrough on kotor and am using a mod that gives them sith eyes and changes the hooded robe textures abit which is still a welcome addition. Also found a malak mod that is incredibly superior to the original skin, so that will be be fun to see.

Biges's Difficulty Mod increases enemies' damage by up to 500%. It makes playing KotOR something more than just spamming flurry and lightning :') Works for TSL as well.
