DarthSolous Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Hello, DeadlyStream community. I'm requesting a SWTOR-style HK remodel for the first KotOR game. I have a mod which remodels the entire body except for the head (http://www.nexusmods.com/kotor/mods/67/?). I was hoping someone might be interested in remodeling the head to look more like this: http://img02.deviantart.net/681c/i/2012/307/a/2/hk_47_and_hk_51_render_by_avenger09-d54ogdx.jpg Thanks Quote
Guest Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Isn't there a mod for KOTOR 2 Which gives him a SWTOR style head; Wouldn't it be a simple matter of porting that? Quote
superSzym Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 No - K1 and K2 binary models differ, so you'd have to convert with MDLOps K2 binary model into ASCII and then ASCII into K1 binary. Quote
sEcOnDbOuToFiNsAnItY Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Parametric did those remodels - might be worth PMing to ask for a k1 port of the k2 HK-51. Quote
superSzym Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Parametric did those remodels - might be worth PMing to ask for a k1 port of the k2 HK-51.And it was Kainzorus Prime who did the texture for full SWTOR HK-47 retexture. Better ask them both. Quote
DarthSolous Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 I'll ask them then. Out of curiosity, how difficult is it to port a K2 model to K1 using the program you listed? Quote
Canderis Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I'll ask them then. Out of curiosity, how difficult is it to port a K2 model to K1 using the program you listed? Quite. As long as you care about animations. It is trivial to convert the model over if you want him to float and stand with his arms out constantly, never moving. It is also against the rules. Porting just the texture is a grey area, however, as the HK texture is largely the same in both games. Essentially, you could keep the texture but you'd need to redo the model. Quote
Kexikus Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Porting his models from TSL to K1 is not against The rules (I think) as they Are completely custom made. So it's not porting of vanilla Game assets. Still, asking him is probably easier than someone else doing it since he has The original Model files. 1 Quote

I thought they were just altered. Custom made anything is portable just fine, but the animations are still the challenge. Quote

But both of those questions should be answered by DP himself. Quote
Fair Strides Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 The models were entirely custom made except for the hands and fingers, which use the original meshes from the original model. Quote

sEcOnDbOuToFiNsAnItY Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 The only difference between the HK-47/50 designs and the SWTOR/esque HK-51 is in the head if I recall correctly. "Dear DarthParametric, Would you be willing to hack off your HK-51 remodel's head and graft it onto the K1 HK-47 like the messed up psycho we all imagine you to be? Cheers, DarthSolous" Quote
DarthSolous Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 The only difference between the HK-47/50 designs and the SWTOR/esque HK-51 is in the head if I recall correctly. Most likely. The torsos look identical. Anyway, I sent him a PM 2 days ago so I'm just waiting for a response now. Quote
