What is your favorite thing about K1R and your least favorite thing?

Recommended Posts

Similar to TSLRCM's thread of what you hate about it I decided K1R could use a thread like it except for you listing off your favorite thing about K1R and your least favorite thing as well.  I will go first.

As K1R's leader my favorite thing about it is that it pretty much is the complete restoration package and my least favorite thing about it is all the little launch hiccups we have had with the demo, then 0.9, then even the official 1.0 release.  I mean granted the launch hiccups got a little better each time but still...

Alright it's your turn.

My favorite thing was probably working on the Pazaak Tournament, since I got to have fun with the dialog and set-up (and there's always the Holo-Roster).

My least favorite would probably be a tie between re-building the Tournament those three times... and adding everything to the dialog.tlk...

Or making the installer... :P

Most favourite: The small things just like Carth's dialogue popups on Dantooine

Least: Some changes to the lower city apartements

I am reviving this thread because more people have played the mod now.

Favorite part was the expanded Vulkar Base. Least favorite part was the pillars outside the Rakatan Temple. They don't make any sense whatsoever.

I liked the part where you had to smuggle spice to the Vulkar mechanic.  Revan the spice smuggler a scondrel indeed :).

As for the pillars yeah those are most likely the toughest puzzle in the game with K1R installed.

They're more of a guessing game than a puzzle. They don't make any sense.

After playing through Dantooine:

Favorite part: Impossible difficulty, except when it's truly impossible.

Least favorite part: I had to turn Grass effects off and the water was messed up on Dantooine. I think it's this mod's fault. Also, you got rid of the lady in the Vulkar Base sublevel that spoke with a really deep voice and played Pazaak.

The grass problem is due to the Intel graphics chip set not K1R.  The lady was supposed to be a man, we simply fixed Bioware's mess up.

Okay, good to know about the grass problem - it occured to me that that might be the case since this was my first playthrough on a new computer. I kind of figured out about the lady, but it was still funny.

I'm changing least favorite part to Impossible difficulty when it is truly impossible. There's a certain dissatisfying feeling that I get when my entire party is trapped by Horror at the start of a battle and doesn't even get a chance.

Overall favourites:

Reinserted dialogue

Vulkar Base restoration

Hurka

Downsides:

Can't say I really understand the thing with the computer and the droids in Ajunta Pall's tomb. Seems the levers won't really destroy them either (unless I encountered a glitch?)

I dig Trask's restored soundset, but why oh why does he sound so.... silly. Sounds like the lines are an octave or two too high
