Hello all! I say this more to myself than you all, but it's about time I started a WIP thread. I've been waiting a while until I had something to show off. Well, here goes.

PartySwap - TSLRCM REQUIRED - RELEASED

This one's been in the making since the end of February. Since that time, I have changed how it's supposed to work twice. I've actually had the idea for a while, but never did anything about it until this post at LF.

One will recruit both the Handmaiden and Disciple, then when Disciple joins, the player is given an item (armband) that can replace any member of the current party with Handmaiden, as well as send her back to the ship.

The next step is to go through the game and make note of all conversations that would usually use one or the other, and edit them so that they will use both.

Will she appear in the ship? I would very much love to be able to have a game where I can follow the "canon" story (in which both Handmaiden and Disciple were recruited)

Yes she will. I meant to include a screenshot of that, but I already had too many (at least for me).

 

I might need some help from those who have played through the latest version of TSLRCM, with the different conversations (minus the ones on the ship since those are all taken care of). Help would come in the form of stating which conversations might need to be edited because both of these characters are now available.

 

As I play through the game, I'll make a note whenever I come across one such dialog, but since I'm a LS-only kind of guy, there will be some that I miss.

All I ask is for some patience, I know I'll need a truck load of it myself. My schedule is not very free. I'll update whenever there's a reason to.

 

Also, stay tuned for other projects in the making. I know I am not currently happy with the state of my Class Robes mod, so I might touch base on that again.

UPDATE TIME:

I believe I'm just about done with editing scripts and dialog on Nar Shaddaa. It took a while, trying to balance this with work, but I'm getting there. I believe there are a few on Korriban, and a lot on Dxun leading into the rest of the game. The meeting on Dantooine through the end of the game is going to be hectic, and is where I'm going to need help from the community that has played the latest version of TSLRCM, as far as the dialogs that may/will have to be edited to accommodate both Handmaiden and Disciple, as well as dialog lines and instances that definitely need to be gender specific, and any suggestions past that would also be greatly appreciated.

Oh my word, has it already been almost a month? Wow, not the best time of my life. But anyway...

Yes, I have dived head first back into this puppy. And I'm thrilled to say that I have just finished working on Dxun round 1 (Onderon shouldn't have a problem). It was a really simple fix, just a dialog and a script that needed editing. I can't believe how far I've come with this since the request on LF. But the end isn't in sight yet, this just means I'm about halfway done.

This, I've had even more luck with. I got 2 of the remaining 3 robes skinned, and they look much better and much more realistic than all black with colored gloves and boots.

UPDATE: PartySwap

 

I've reached the ever-elusive end, where everything comes together, and at the same time branches off. I just finished with the LS confrontation between Handmaiden and Atris. There's something I want for the communtiy to decide on. That's how to handle the duplicate Handmaiden-Disciple situation in the Trayus Core. I can think of a couple ways to do it.

 

1. Have the appropriate companion ditch at Telos, before you go to Malachor. (This would definitely be by far the easiest fix.)

2. Rework the cutscene between the Lost Jedi and Darth Traya to be gender-specific, but include both Handmaiden and Disciple. (If this one is chosen, explain how it should be worked.)

 

If there's another option I'm overlooking, then feel free to voice it.

Well, personally I'm not familiar with what all happens on Malachor V (having had computer issues every time I got close with TSLRCM), but if memory serves, the Handmaiden-Disciple thing is relative to gender and an influence check between the romanceable NPCs, right?

 

In that case, you could possibly just run these fights back-to-back as cutscenes...

Technically correct, but that's if you've had a falling out with the one that gets jealous. In this ending, I have kept everyone of them happy, and they're about to have a smackdown with Kreia. By they, I mean Atton, Mira, Visas, and Handmaiden/Disciple. However, Handmaiden and Disciple are still both available at this point, which can be easily fixed with the appropriate one of the two ditching you on Dantooine, and thus leaving no hole to fill in when the other four-rather than all five-confront Kreia. But I'm not sure that's the best course of action, hence the hesitation.

 

As for all the other companion confrontations, they should all take care of themselves, as they always have.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you mean the jealousy thing, that should be gender specific IE a female exile would only trigger the Atton/Disciple confrontation rather than the Handmaiden/Visas one, or both. Is the Traya confrontation a matter of dialog? I had thought you were already going through the conversations and editing them, or am I misinterpting that?

In the end, if ditching one of them is all that can be done that'd still be okay,

Again, those jealousy confrontations will take care of themselves without editing.

 

The reason why I'm leaning toward ditching one of them is because their final confrontation with Kreia would require more than editing a dialog. I would need new waypoints for one or the other, and possibly another camera. It can be done, but due to gender restrictions in the dialog, only one will be goaded into attacking. Which leaves the other one just standing there watching as Atton runs.

 

If no one has another opinion, then I'll probably just have one of them (Disciple for male, Handmaiden for female) leave the party on Telos after the Ravager.

Oh, alright. That clears things up quite a bit.
If the Kreia confrontation can't be done without one of them standing around, then having them leave during the assault on Telos would be for the best, assuming that the character's sequences/cutscenes play out, like Disciple contacting the Republic and Handmaiden returning to the academy.

If those play out, then it gives both characters a plausible reason to stay behind rather than simply dissapearing into the aether like Bao-Dur does.

Ok, I'll see what I can do about that, because I also have a peeve with them just petering out of existence w/o any explanation. I just need to find the right files. If anyone knows what they are, could you please tell me, so I don't have to go searching for something I've never seen.

Not sure that's it. From what I've seen, those sequences/cutscenes Durendal mentioned aren't anywhere to be found, unless they are somewhere else.

Oh? Well, congratulations, you got me thinking again. But, I would like to find a way to do one or the other, maybe so people have a choice. I think that editing the Kreia confrontation would work, it just requires a lot more work. I'll Skype you later, and we'll talk details.

 

UPDATE:

 

Alright, it turns out that Fair Strides has quite easily changed my mind on the matter, so if you (the player) kept all Lost Jedi companions happy, then both Disciple and Handmaiden will appear in the confrontation with Kreia.

 

I just got finished with tampering the dialog so that everything could be included in a way that made sense. Next, I need to go back in and add a camera and new coordinates for the Disciple.

I'm afraid I wouldn't know where any of the files actually are, the most modding I've done is trying to change a few items.

I could describe the scenes themselves but I'm not sure that would be of much help.

Nothing to worry about, as stated above, Fair Strides and I found a workaround. FS, you will have an official place in the credits.

Wow, two months without posting here? I seriously have been lacking - or dedicated to the Release thread for PartySwap. Time for a serious update.

 

PartySwap

 

I have released 1.1 in time for it to become obsolete barely two weeks later. I am in the finishing stages of getting 1.2 ready for release, which will include bug fixes and compatibility for TSLRCM 1.8.4. It should be ready for release by Friday.

I have the Lord Robes finished! I put a bit more detail into these ones because I ran out of plain color ideas, so...

I have also decided to use the TSLPatcher for this mod, because of the item names and descriptions. This should also be ready by Friday.

So, I've been "off the scene" for the past two weeks, just working on whatever project pops into my mind, as well as a super-secret thing that's for just me to know about right now. I decided to show off what I've been up to.

These are actually a part of my super-secret project, but what the heck.

NEW SHUTTLE PLACEABLE with NEW STUNT AREA

Okay, so I decided that the GWing just sucked (I can't see how three people could/would/should fit in it). It didn't really represent a shuttle for me, so I made one for myself, and threw in a module for the interior for good measure.

UPDATE - Shuttle

 

This has been a bit of a bear, but I'm glad to say that the shuttle is now a working module and with decent looking lightmaps.

I'm not entirely sure. I know I probably want a better window, and the body of the console is transparent. But I spent a while working on the floor and the couch leather.

 

Ultimately, I wanted to actually get working lightmaps in the game. It looks a lot better than without.
