Tatooine and the Ebon Hawk - Same Music
Fair Strides replied to milestails's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
@Miles: It'd be a simple GIT edit for one or the other, but it'd require a save from before ever going to the area. -
@Malkior: If VP got that image where I think he got it from, the image is HK as re-imagined by the guy that made/originally designed HK-47.
-
There's a variety of different font names, so try the following in order: dialogfont16x16b dialogfont16x16a dialogfont10x10b dialogfont10x10a dialogfont10x10 dialogfont12x16 dialogfont32x32 fnt_d16x16b fnt_d16x16a fnt_d16x16 There are more, but those are the more important ones, I believe.

I... think I scared Malkior when I was talking about balancing the game and was calculating exact HP thresholds per level...

I can link tools to convert the tlk files to .txt files, but you'd need to be able to figure out which lines were changed between the files... And the tool I discussed making earlier could either be done today, or it'd have to wait until Wednesday.
-
While it is possible to merge two dialog.tlk files (coding something like that up wouldn't take me very long I guess), you would probably have to do a Yes/No prompt every time a line differed between the two files. For example, you'd probably need to select Shem's file first, the PC Response one second, and then manually click Yes to every one of the Player Character Response Fix.

The models were entirely custom made except for the hands and fingers, which use the original meshes from the original model.

First off I'm glad things were kept civil enough after the first shots were fired, so thank you for that. Second, in regards to everything that was said, we have no real control over GUI stuff because of the way the GUI is coded and worked into the game. While the idea to use feats was a nice one, the game would have ignored it entirely. About the only way to do this would be to edit any script that launches the workbench and have it unequip all equipped lightsabers, remember who they were equipped to, move them to a known inventory object (like a spawned-in footlocker), show the screen, and then restore the equipment settings and de-spawn the placeable object. Come to think of it, that should actually be possible and it wouldn't even be all that messy, I think. I can run tests on it and check Kaidon's permissions in the meantime. As to the pathfinding thing, the game truly does have horrible pathfinding, but it doesn't help that everything in the appearance.2da has a "cylinder" of space around it for purposes of determining whether the creature can fit through any gaps and stuff. Either way, you could get around this a bit by warping the creature in question behind you, but then that kind of ruins the point of seeing them walk over to the workbench... EDIT: According to Kaidon's status update from February 2016, his mods are free-for-all on editing.

These actually aren't hosted yet. However, I had contacted Shem before about something else on Facebook and this was his reply about permissions: "I just noticed this message. Look, I'm fine with anybody modifying my mods. I like to make things easy for people. So I really don't care what anyone does with them. All I've ever have asked is if people just acknowledge me in their readme if they do. That's it!" So I'll probably upload these tomorrow.

K1R 1.2 Impressions and Bug-Reports [READ ME FIRST]
Fair Strides replied to Fair Strides's topic in KotOR1 Restoration (K1R)
I have no clue why it isn't working and am really sorry I'm not able to help more with this. I notice that the installlog.rtf had some foreign characters in it that weren't English, but I don't know why that'd have anything to do with it. Do other mods that use the TSL Patcher work? If not, then send me a list of mods you want to use and I can package up a pre-installed set of files for you. -

It's cancelling before it even tries to find the path, so at the moment all I could suggest is trying those three things in my previous post. -

Okay, can you post the installlog.rtf file? Also, some things you could try: 1. Running as an admin. 2. Setting compatibility mode to Windows XP SP3. 3. Going into the tslpatchdata folder, then opening the changes.ini file and adding the following near the top (under the [settings] part): LookupGameFolder=1 LookupGameNumber=1 -

@fondestgreetings: What is the entire error message? -
Actually superSzym got the closest. The error message was given by the GFF library, which is in charge of handling accessing, editing, and saving any file in the GFF format (which happens to be most of the save-game formats involved). When the error was thrown at you, KSE stopped saving the game and you likely ended up with some blank files or files that didn't even exist. Hence the general chaos now. As to what actually caused your issue, I'd need to see the KSE_Log.txt and KSE_Error.txt, but I'm going to guess that you added the item like normal and then tried to add more copies of it by adding it as if it were a new item. Instead of doing that, you can open the Inventory branch and find your item, then click on it. From here, you can edit the quantity of the item in the right-hand pane.

I haven't used this tool myself, so after using it yourself, what files does it produce? Please list all the files it produced from you using it. It could be as simple as the names not being right.

Hello guys! I'm not sure who all just glances at the front page and doesn't read everything, so I'm repeating here the edit to the news article: The EU Scripting Livestream will be held on Saturday January 7th at 9AM PST (UTC-8). This is very much delayed from the US stream and I hope to avoid this long gap in the future, so I apologize for those of you who have had to wait. I hope you're still interested enough to drop by. PS: I know I keep saying the EU stream, but this is available for anyone to see. It's just mostly targeted at the EU timezones.

Put this in override. Only for use after the first cutscene with Jolee. k1r_jolee_diag.ncs -
Just a recommendation to add to your build: Snigaroo and I did some patching to the Sherruk Attacks with Lightsabers and the Robes for Korriban Sith Students mods. The patching was to remove any unique or completely OP drops that the original modder, Shem, added to things. The descriptions as given in the K1 Mod Build: "Name: Sherruk Inventory Patch Author: Fair Strides Masters: Sherruk Attacks with Lightsabers Description: Shem's above mod not only gives Sherruk equipment which is horribly overpowered, he also gives him unique items which are only meant to be acquired once in the game. This modmod reduces his loot levels and removes his unique equipment without reducing his overall difficulty. Category & Tier: Patch / 1 - Essential" and "Name: Robes for Korriban Sith Students Inventory Patch Author: Fair Strides Masters: Robes for Korriban Sith Students Description: Robes for Korriban Sith Students, like many of Shem's mods, includes horribly overfilled loot lists and the inclusion of multiple items which are meant to be unique. This inventory patch reduces the loot of the Academy's occupants down to levels closer to that of vanilla. Category & Tier: Patch / 1 - Essential"

Kotor 2 crash and loading problem
Fair Strides replied to Spacebadger's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
If you can't do it even on new games, try checking your game's folder and seeing if you have folders like "currentgame". If so, delete them. There might be two or three all-lowercase folders, so it's best to list your folders before you delete anything. -
Once again I find myself baffled by all of the support, so thanks everyone! Looking back, 2016 really has been an interesting year, with lots of new modders and a lot of new creativity that's always been great to see. I've met some nice people and learned more about some of you wonderful people. Surprisingly, I even managed to get some stuff done! And I've got a lot more planned for this year, but we'll see if I can get around to it, eh? Here's to a great new year, everyone!!!

Congratulations on stubbornness! And you were so close to getting it right. Try it again (starting from SAV1 and getting her to attack, then saving a new SAV2), but this time after you edit the .git file in K-GFF and save it, do the following: 1. Close any ERFEdit apps that are open. 2. Open the kor36aa.sav in ERFEdit and drag-n-drop your edited .git file into it. Yes to overwrite. Save. 3. Close ERFEdit and then re-open it. 4. Open SAVEGAME.sav and drag-n-drop your edited .sav file into it. Yes to overwrite. Save. I've never had problems with ERFEdit and savegames before. The only issues on newer OS (anything past Windows XP) would be drag-n-drop only working once per application when extracting and the scrollbar on the side being a bit wonky.
