  1. One thing I've always noticed on Taris is that the western apartments entrance door looks shoddy and seems like it belongs in the lower city.

When you go down to the lower city, the first apartments you come to directly across from the elevator have a pristine door that looks like it should be in the upper city.

    Anybody ever catch this?

I'll take a look at it as that sounds like something K1R should take care of.

  2. Latest news: Bioware is haggling. Now they are saying that they will make a free DLC that will "bring more closure." Well...at least we on the right track. But it shows 2 things:

    1) This DLC is not going to be big, otherwise it wouldn't be free.

    2) This is most certainly not going to be what we've been asking for. They are trying to minimize their loss as much as possible.

But the haggling isn't over. Not by a long shot.

They better give me something that ups my EMS in single player because tying the ending to multiplayer was the most idiotic thing Bioware has ever done.

  3. Although the single player is solid I hate how Bioware tied what ending you get to multiplayer. I want a solid single player experience I could care less about multiplayer and tying multiplayer to EMS was a horrible decision that screwed those who only want to play single player over. Here is Ghirahim to sum it all up.

  4. Game is still to damn easy :/. Even without redhawks item stuff I was hoping for more of a challenge when I fought Solomon,Bendak and Malak(especially Malak since this difficulty mod is compatible with another difficulty mod that I use due to not using the same file AND another file I had that ups his stats). Perhaps when you release your next version could you kindly add a higher difficulty option please?

I cannot add a higher difficulty option because Impossible is the highest difficulty that Bioware cut and because K1 only allows 4 slots for difficulty which gives us Easy, Normal, Difficult. and Impossible. The other 2 cut difficulties were Very Easy and Hard. There is nothing higher than Impossible unless I want to go outside of the realm of restoring content. Perhaps maybe if I feel like it I could do a even higher difficulty as a standalone mod but, not for K1R.

  5. I can't imagine the hate I'll generate when after 1 hour I still can't beat him. Maybe my eyes will turn yellow, who knows :D

I dare you to try to beat the game on Impossible Difficulty. Go ahead it's in the downloads section. Also every time you die on Impossible Difficulty I will somehow know it and will play "You are dead" every time you die. :P lol.

  6. I would like to get feedback from the community on how hard you thought Impossible difficulty was for those who played it as I haven't personally been able to do a complete run-through of K1 with it. From what I gathered when I tested it with it on though it made Bendak Starkiller near impossible for example. Also this song right here is what I think best represents Benak on Impossible difficulty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pPQnhhUqtU Anyway I'd like to get feedback from you guys. So how was "Impossible Difficulty"?

  7. In other news, The Hunger Games earned $155 million on opening weekend at the box office, effectively showing that people don't care about freedom nearly as much as young adult books turned into big screen blockbusters.

Yep not enough people have awoken from their corporate induced trance of reality television, big blockbuster movies, ect. A lot of people in this country don't even realize what freedoms they're losing they just automatically assume the US Constitution protects their freedoms without them having to pay attention to any attempts to reduce them or take them away altogether by both corporate parties might I add.

I think a lot of Americans just fall for the assumption of "It can't happen here in America." which is a flat out wrong assumption, the slow eroding away of the Bill of Rights has been happening since the year 2000 whenever a fraud was placed in the highest office of the land by the US Supreme Court.

Believe me I fell for the "Hope & Change" thing in 2008 because I grew up partly in the Clinton years with a good economy and partly in the Bush years which horrified me. I thought that Obama was going to be the one who would lead us away from the tyranny of the Bush years but, I was wrong and I was duped but, so were a lot of other people.

Yes, Barack Obama is a better President than George W. Bush but, that isn't saying much considering he still works for the corporate powers he's just better at masking it. He is basically to me the lesser of the two evils.

At this point it's clear to me that we no longer have a government for of and by the people. Welcome to the United Corporate Police States of America. Both Bush and Obama administrations need to be charged with treason for the egregious destruction of the Bill of Rights and their spitting on the Constitution of the United States in general. For other examples of treasonous acts see: The Patriot Act, NDAA, the recent bill that was passed to clamp down on protesting, SOPA, PIPA, ACTA. There's only so much people can take, I fear it's going to get really bad in the US really soon (as if it isn't already bad enough) :(.

  9. Breaking News! Cox Communications and Sonic are NOT participating in the internet spying scheme :D. "For example, companies like Sonic and Cox Communications have a history of fighting for their users where they can, and are notably absent from this arrangement." Source: Electronic Frontier Foundation via https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2012/03/graduated-response-deal-steamrollers-towards-july-1-launch

I can see Cox and Sonic becoming very wealthy companies if they continue their policy of NOT participating in this scheme. Send a thank you to Cox and Sonic for not participating in the spying on their users and if possible switch. Internet freedom ftw!

As always I will keep you updated if the situation changes and those companies decide to do something extremely evil.

So i can haz video game betas without fear of being spied on? Yes I can (note: that is subject to change depending on if the MAAFIA can get Cox and Sonic to join their evil quest to destroy the internetz).

  10. The one where I'm a pretty cool guy who restores beta and doesn't afraid of anything.

Joking aside I really don't know don't read much outside the internet honestly. I find books on paper to be inefficient when we have the internet.

  11. Indeed we are controlled by the rich and people are waking up. Why do you think the US government and their corporate masters are afraid of the Occupy Movement? Just recently the government and their corporate masters moved the G8 summit to Camp David out of fear of the movement. Believe me I used to support Obama but, then he and his masters attacked the internet and I woke up. Both parties are bought and paid for and every election in the USA is a choice of the lesser of the two evils.

  12. According to Anonnews.org, Anonymous has officially declared war on the US government.

Yes I know and according to the US government Anonymous and the Occupy Movement may be "terrorists".

Translation: Anyone who speaks out against our slow eroding away of the Bill of Rights or speaks about how the government is bought and paid for by wall street is a terrorist.

Translation2: The United States was founded by "terrorists".

Edit: Here's a even better explanation for what's going on http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/03/15/american-isps-to-launch-massive-copyright-spying-scheme-on-july-12/

  13. Another thing is what the ISPs will be doing is clearly going to have constitutional problems within the United States and sooner or later their actions will be challenged in court. Not that our executive branch, legislative branch, or supreme court obeys the constitution, they've already proven they don't. I honestly think there is going to be a revolution within the USA with the increasing clamp downs on our constitutional rights and I think the Occupy Movement and the movements worldwide waging a peaceful war to protect the internet is only the start of that revolution. Whether or not the revolution will be peaceful is up to the corporate powers but, knowing them they may clamp down so much that violence may become the only option and that's a scary thought and something I do not want to happen as I want the revolution to be peaceful.

  14. Read the link here http://www.tomsguide.com/us/RIAA-copyright-cops-Anonymous-Time-Warner-Comcast,news-14459.html

    Scary stuff.

What can you do to protect your privacy (this is perfectly legal btw)?

You can download the TOR browser, a VPN, and use proxies. I recommend as many layers of security as possible if your ISP starts harassing you over downloads in the next few months even if your downloads are perfectly legal.

Protect your anonymity online and have a good day!

  15. Here's an interesting observation I made:

In DA2 we have events take place after 1 year, then 2 years, then 5...if I'm not mistaken...

Hawke, being the champion of Kirkwall, meets King Alistair in the 3rd part, which is 7 years past the Blight... again if I'm not mistaken.

In that conversation Alistair mentions the Hero of Ferelden in present tense. We are explicitly told that he is still in the actual world. That indicates that if he indeed left the world through the Mirror, then he spent about 6-7 years searching for Morrigan. And that I find really hard to believe. To me this is a good reason NOT to think that he left through the Mirror.

But may be I'm just giving Bioware too much credit.

I wouldn't rule out the Warden going through the mirror and then finding a way to travel between Fereldan and whatever that place is and since my Warden went through the mirror that has to happen for my warden (though not every one else's). Morrigan may say that it's impossible to leave but, you never know as when the PC and party gets trapped in the fade the PC is told "it's impossible to leave" so Morrigan may not know the place completely and there could be a way out, I wouldn't doubt it. I think that Bioware was pretty much leaving things up to the player's imagination. I still wonder what exactly that place is though. Hopefully we get to actually visit it for real in Dragon Age III.

  16. Screw Morrigan.

My mage warden already did ;p.

Joking aside I think Morrigan's problem is that she was raised to be practical by Flemeth which doesn't make her necessarily evil she just tends to suggest what is easiest for the Warden to do like not helping Redcliffe (I always help Redcliffe regardless of what she says) also she's so anti-social because she was raised in the wilds and normally her only companions besides Flemeth were the animals themselves. You can see how she doesn't know that much of the world outside when she falls in love with the warden and is afraid of her feelings and being taught by Flemeth that it would weaken her. So basically she's the way she is because 1. Flemeth and 2. raised in the wilds. I like to think that by the end of Witch Hunt when my mage warden goes with her that Morrigan grew and doesn't have some of the sentiments she used to have which Flemeth imparted upon her. So I don't blame Morrigan for the way she is, I blame Flemeth and kill Flemeth too (until she comes back in DA II that is).

  17. So i just figured out that Mass Effect has spoiled me. Now everytime i play a story driven game i expect my character to speak, and if he/she does not i find i lose interest really fast. I tried playing DAO, and i did for about an hour, but the fact that my character didn't speak was just gnawing at me. this kind of upsets me cause there looks like a lot of good content. I did play through skyrim, but i turned sound down on that and listened to podcasts(Laser Time FTW!). that however is not applicable to DAO, because the story is what i was looking forward to. Guess i'll just have to try and keep going, maybe i'll be too engrossed in the story and not care if my character is a mute.

The silent protagonist thing doesn't really bug me but, if you've noticed I play a lot of Zelda, KotOR, and Dragon Age so I don't mind it and I think it works better in some games (Zelda for example). Although if you want Dragon Age with a voiced protagonist play Dragon Age II. Dragon Age: Origins is much better but, Dragon Age II is still a good game.

  18. In my opinion a rebellious mage warden that falls in love with Morrigan, performs the ritual, puts Alistair on the throne, and goes with Morrigan at the end of Witch Hunt makes the most sense story wise when you consider all of the DLC.

I really hate the Chantry and Templars for the mistreatment and fear of mages which is why I typically play as a mage so I can have a good reason to say "screw you!" to the Chantry and Templars.

I also enjoy annoying/picking on Alistair, that's always fun to do :P.

  19. What I liked in DAO (besides great story and characters) was it's difficulty. IMO, modern games are quite easy, even on hard level. And DAO felt like "hello from 90's", where you must think very carefully about what you do. The game is a real challenge, and I like it for it.

Yeah DA:O is one of the only modern games that I feel has some difficulty to it, the other one I feel has some difficulty to it is Zelda: Skyward Sword with it's Hero Mode and Ocarina of Time 3D with it's Mirrored Master Quest (but, OoT is from the 90s anyway, late 90s but, still :P).

    90s ftw! Although there are a few games from the late 2000s (2006 to 2009) and 2010s (2010s cover 2010 - 2012)

Here is a list of them.

    Super Mario Galaxy (2007)

    Dragon Age: Origins (2009)

    Super Mario Galaxy 2 (2010)

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Master Quest (2011)

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (2011)

    Dark Souls (2011)

I think that might be it maybe let me know if you think of more.

  20. I just got DAO for free from amazon, cause of issues with ME3, I'm so excited to actually start playing. Do you recommend any mods, or should i playthrough once unmodded?

Do your first playthrough without mods as to me discovering what is possible within the initial game is a great experience but, you should try to get Awakening and all of the DLC to flesh out your adventure more. The chronological order by the way is....

    Leliana's Song > Dragon Age: Origins > Awakening > Golemns > Witchhunt

    or

Dragon Age: Origins (with Leliana's Song when Leliana tells you that specific story) > Awakening > Golemns > Witchhunt

Darkspawn chronicles is like a alt. ending to the main game so I recommend you play that after beating the main game.

  21. And besides, Awakening hardly counts as a part of the initial game, wouldn't you agree?

    I see it like this.

    Leliana's Song/DA:O/Return to Ostagar/The Stone Prisoner/Warden's Keep/Feastday = 1/3 of the full game.

Awakening = 1/3 of the full game.

    Golemns/Witchhunt = The finale.

Darkspawn Chronicles = Alt. Universe where the Darkspawn win.

Yes I agree with you that DLC is a double edged sword as it can encourage developers to not release the full game but, at the same time it can add to an already existing full game. I think that DA:O without DLC is almost on par with KotOR (KotOR only beats the initial game by a bit imo) and that the game itself was full enough to be considered a finished game, the DLC just made the game even more jam packed with content. I think if KotOR had DLC it would beat Dragon Age: Origins. That being said I love both games, my preference for Dragon Age: Origins mainly has to do with how fleshed out the expansion and DLC makes the game.

  22. And my next was the PlayStation ^^'.

There's a Chrono Trigger port for PS1 if I'm not mistaken, it's also available on the DS. I remember I didn't get Chrono Trigger until it came out on the DS with all that extra content but, I was hooked when I got it. It's one of the best JRPGs I've ever played and so is it's sequel Chrono Cross which is on the PS1.

  23. If we were to argue main game only I'd agree with you but, I think arguing Origins + Awakening + all of the DLC puts DA:O over the top against KotOR imo. We also know KotOR doesn't have the advantage of a expansion pack or DLC but, DA:O does.

  24. EA pulled a LA?

So BioWare feels how Obsidian did with KOTOR2? 0_0

Pretty much sums it up except that there is evidence EA rushed Bioware on more than one game which makes EA's record doing that sort of thing worse than what LA did with K2 (although what LA did was still pretty bad). I still see DA: II (although a good game) as a prime example of what happens when Bioware has EA breathing down their necks. You can obviously tell DA: II was rushed by the constant reusing of dungeon models and a story that needed fleshed out more.
