The mod is GREAT, good work guys.
I'm glad you liked it! For those who have played through the Vulkar Base what did you guys think about the improvements we did to it?

Found a few bugs today:
1) After I beat Niklos the 1st time, I cant play against him again.
2) After I challenge Bendak, Ajur NEVER lets me fight him even before the destruction of Taris.
3) On Dantooine after I say who is lying - Rickard or Handon - no new dialog appears and I can't complete the quest.
That's all I found, are these problems common?
BTW, I don't have any other mods installed.
You're the first person to report any bugs here so maybe, we'll be sure to look into those though.
By the way what did you think of the rest of the mod aside from the bugs?

Well, dear ZM90, congratulations on the Demo and that super amazing surprise you're cooking for us, but I must say, too me K1R in general is nice, but not to die for. Vanilla Kotor in itself felt perfect and complete. And besides, there is still that damned immovable exeprience top
so I'll pass on the Demo....
I'm going to go ahead and tell you guys what surprise was being planned. FG found a way to restore the Trask soundset and we were going to surprise you guys by actually having a bit of Endar Spire content after all that being the soundset but FG couldn't find a way to integrate it into the installer. Now I'm pretty sure we could still release it if you guys are okay with manual install for the soundset. It should be K1R demo compatible.

Both the installer and the Twi'lek errors appear to be corrected now it is only you guys who should be reporting bugs
So I don't foresee any emergency uploads of a new version of the K1R demo in the future.

I fixed the installer (hopefully) uploading a new version of K1R Demo to Deadly Stream.

I just ran through the demo stuff again myself and I noticed a couple of errors. The first one is that the installer doesn't install everything so until that is fixed go with manual installation and carefully follow the instructions. There is also a error in the dialog of the Twi'lek working near the entrance to the swoop track where he is says he is from the Undercity when he means Lower City. That error with the installer definitely needs to be taken care of and the error in the dialog will be pretty easy to rectify.

Anyone else notice Deadly Stream was going slower than normal the past hour? Perhaps the K1R demo was so awesome that Deadly Stream couldn't handle it
. I'm just kidding of course, not to say the demo isn't good, it's excellent. I imagine it was another issue though.

I also deleted "Impossible Difficulty" from file downloads since it is no longer needed due to the K1R demo including it so you can no longer get "Impossible Difficulty" as a standalone mod.

I will be sure to fix in the update for the demo that will have that surprise I was talking about

I recommend releasing then announcing. You've already announced it privately and publicly that it would be "out tomorrow" several times and you see where that got you.
Don't pull a "Team Gizka" on folks. You'll be reviled.
Yeah, it's my fault really I mean I was way too confident it was going to be released that week and I made a mistake and I am willing to admit it. This time is different though because all it needs is for one file to be integrated into the installer, some screenshots to be taken and nothing else.
I could just go and release now and then release an updated version for the surprise but keep in mind if I release it now there won't be any screenshots with prntscrn giving me problems.
You know what everyone has had enough suffering, I'm going to go ahead and release immediately and release a updated version with the surprise later tonight screenshots or no.
Also to the entire Deadly Stream community I issue a public apology for having to push it back and hope that you will all forgive me and know that I will not make the same mistake in the future. K1R 1.0 will have no release date and even if I have one in mind I will keep such thoughts in private places.

We really enjoyed making this demo and I must ask from the perspective of the fans what specific content do you guys expect will be in the demo?
What do you guys think is the surprise I asked FG to integrate into the installer?

The demo possibly will be out by tonight or it could be a day late but regardless it's still going to get here and get here soon, don't worry folks you don't have to wait much longer.

Thanks. It's mostly just Taris content though but, it is very interesting because within Taris alone you get.....
1. New items.
2. More to the Taris Upper City Cantina, Lower City, and Under City.
3. Restored .dlg files.
4. A overhaul of the Black Vulkar Base that restores a entire module and greatly enhances it to look as if it belongs in KotOR1, basically after the demo is released I doubt you'll want to go back to vanilla KotOR.
There's also a bit to Dantooine as well.

Guys we're going to have to cut the demo down a bit in order to release it next week. There will not be any of the Endar Spire cut content now. Don't worry you're not missing much. Here's the exact Endar Spire content.

On a side note, how much new content are you releasing in the demo? New lines for party members and some new stuff (from the rank of the glow rod) or you're going to give us a view of new area and a new side quest?
We will be giving you....
1. Impossible Difficulty (which is going to make that download obsolete).
2. The cut Endar Spire content with the exception of the Trask Soundset.
3. Carth telling the PC to go back to sleep while the PC's injuries heal on Taris. (thank Zbyl for that one, plus other Taris fixes by Zbyl as well that he gave us permission to use)
4. The option for male PC to talk to Yungenda in the Taris Cantina along with the Sarna option for female PC.
5. The Sith Passcard to enter the Sith Base early along with some restored dialog in the Sith Base as well as the ability to find the Rakghoul Serum within the base.
6. The Zaerdra Dialog involving the prototype engine accelerator shortly before the race.
7. Some cut droid items for you to play with at Janice Nall's shop.
8. A restored Lower City.
9. A restored Under City.
10. The restored and greatly enhanced Black Vulkar Base.
11. Shuma the Hutt.
12. Garrum and Tareelok (thanks to Seamhiann for allowing us to use it)
13. The Iraiz fix on Dantooine (which Seamhiann also allowed us to use)
14. The Indecent Proposal to Shen or Rahashia
15. Various small surprises I don't wish to spoil

However, it also seems like a convenient stopping point. Not bad mouthing anyone, just expressing how I myself might feel when working on a large mod for an extended period of time.
It's most certainly not a stopping point. As soon as the demo is ready for release next week we're going straight back to working on Non-Demo related K1R content.
We are doing this because.
1. We like this community so we thought you guys deserved a treat.
2. Get feedback including bugs.

It's official! The demand is enough for us to go ahead with a demo. Now I ask everyone to give us until at least next week as we are polishing things up, and we also have to put the package together along with a readme file.

It seems everyone is very divided on this. Some want a taste of K1R and some want to wait until 1.0. So whether or not a K1R demo sees release is very much up in the air guys but, I'll give it a few days and prepare accordingly in case we decide to release a demo.

And I'm still sad about the fact that character leveling is going to be unchanged. If now I can achieve the top level by the middle of Korriban - then with K1R - I'll get there by the Leviathan. It renders upgrading meaningless for the rest of the game.
There's nothing that can be done without
a) forcing the game to be more difficult via making the PC gain less exp
or
going out of what is allowed within the bounds of modding within the KotOR community
I won't do A for those who don't wish for the game to be any harder for them and I won't do B as I want to able to release the mod here when it is finished.
Besides I believe there is already a standalone mod for A.
